I am gaming on the Pentium G4560 with MSI b150m night elf, I bought the i3 9100F because it has 4 cores 4 threads and it was like 70€, planning to pair it with the MSI MPG z390 gaming plus !!! at first when I read the title, I was thinking that you were going to talk about Intel's first 4 Ghz Pentium 4 that they were going to release back in 2004, but got cancelled.
The last pentium i had was in my Sony Vaio fit11 A, from 2014, i still have it around somewhere. It had a 2,4ghz pentium N3520. Back then it was okay(ish) wasn't really made for gaming but it did the job. I remember being able to run world of warships on it.
The G3258 (my favorite pentium haha) got me partially through college haha. I overclocked that on some crappy MSI board. My board wasn't even supposed be able to overclock but MSI figured something out and released it in a bios update. I lucked out big time cause that board was like $20 after a mail in rebate.
Those 2C/4T Pentium processors are truly pointless nowadays. Ryzen 3 1200 can be bought NEW for ~$50 making a 2 core CPU obsolete. Intel would have to launch those 2 core CPUs for less than 40 dollars, and even then because of the price of the motherboard it's more wise to go with APU from AMD if you really want that cheapest possible PC (because built in GPU cuts down on cost significantly)
I snagged a ryzen 5 3600x for £132.90, on ebay. I usually miss these things but I got lucky. Better security is what I wanted, better than Intel chips. I'm now waiting for B550 to release, but I think I'll have a long wait :-(
Quick question. I bought a system for £420 (yeah, hehe) like 2 days ago. Wonder what you think is the worth it value (potential idea, recent purchases and if they are worth it/how long they will last). The system is an i7 7700, 16gb 3000 MHz ram, 1060 6gb, stock CPU cooler, (I don't know the PSU, it's hidden in the case? - gamemax force blue led). The system is running well, and it was spotless. Don't know the motherboard by heart though. 2tb HDD and 256gb SSD. Windows 10 activated. Thoughts?
Alpha Wolf ..(I mean no disrespect here...) I got a laugh that you included “Windows 10 activated” as a valuable asset. ... Sorry... LOL :) With my $ converter your £420 equaled about $750 CAN. I was browsing our local online listings and that is exactly what similar systems are selling for here.
I remember about 4 years ago i found a pentium chip at 4 or 4.2ghz and never thought anything of it and sold it in a desktop tower, this was before i really knew anything about pc's...cant find that chip annnyyywhere at all but i know i definatly had one. Anyone know anything. Been driving me nuts
wanted to do a Ryzen 2700x build but found this ( Intel Xeon E5-2430..@2.2Ghz..6 cores..Socket 1356)...could this equal a Ryzen with Rx 480....The Xeon is only £25
Crazycraigy ...I have an E5-2420V2 with an rx570, 16GB ECC 1666Mghz, 1TB Nvme. I get a score over 10,000 on Firemark 3D. However they wont let me certify the results because the CPU is not recognized. Sorry, I don’t play a bunch of different “shooter” games, but I can tell you I get over 100fps in FSX in Ultra High settings, 75fps in X-Plane 11 high settings, and 75fps in DCS medium settings. Hope this helps. :)
Short answer: Hell no... Long answer: That’s way freaken slower than the Ryzen 1600 by miles (expect around 3.8 GHz on 6 cores) and that’s like 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the 2700x. You are basically comparing a duel core vs a quad core, because that would be a closer comparison! If you want slow get an FX... But don’t get an FX, they are slow. If you got the Xeon free and the board free then it would be fine, but that board is a dead platform, that CPU is barely over half the speed of my laptop (8750h, also 6c/12t and usually 3.8-3.9 GHz), like it’s not good for modern games unless you had the board for free. Not trying to be harsh, you asked if it could equal a Ryzen. Technically it would beat my 4 threaded Ryzen 2200g, but that’s about it. 1600AF is far, far superior if you don’t have money, that Ryzen 1600 is an excellent choice for a great value with vastly higher performance (as well as other perks like better power efficiency, a modern motherboard that will let you upgrade all the way to the 16 core if it’s cheap and you find a good deal in the future or whatever else you find).
I got a laptop Maibenben Heimai 7 with a Pentiums G5420 (2c/4t) and GTX1650. Not a bad CPU, but I wish Intel put a decent GPU inside these entry level chips, because if those came with a UHD 620 or 630, it would be a serious competition for any Vega 3 APU, however... Intel put a punny UHD 610, which is pretty weak.
I think they left the Pentium 4 4GHz behind because they eventually had a breakthrough with the Core Duo series. But I also heard they left the 4GHz P4 because the sheer frequency speed with a single core was causing too much heat to be dissipated by even the greatest CPU fan coolers at the time. I would bet though, that the CPU coolers we have now, would probably tame those wild heat signatures, and make your room nice and toasty at the same time during the winter. lol
also, the pentium 4 was based on netburst which had garbage IPC. A Pentium M was faster than a Pentium 4-M that was higher clocked because of the better IPC that was offered by the PM
@@abhimaanmayadam5713 My brother is of the same mindset as well. I have heard over the years that the netburst architecture had held it back and screwed it over. I'm not too tech savvy myself, but I do try.

Heck even with 10th series of Intel desktop CPUs the Pentium variant don't even have a 4GHz chip. Also even with the 10th Gen core i series CPUs it is not even worth getting a Pentium chip when the i3s are like the old i7s (4c/8T) starting with that generation. Not to mention the offerings that AMD has with with AM4 platform.
I'm not using a pentium. I'm using a core2 duo E8500. Although it is one of the higher clocked core2 duo's available, it doesn't really hold up that well anymore.
I have a pentium silver and tbh experience is not bad besides lag in some games like roblox but it can sort of rin minecraft. Honestly im so broke i would buy this gold pentium chip.
Your Nana is a Legend! I had a mob send me the wrong CPU and claimed "it was faster but." It was also a different FBUS speed and socket, but you know, whatevs'! I got a refund!
Tbh i think if you want to game on a budged you are much better off with high end hardware couple of generations back. You can get very good performance with same amount of money when buying new budget options like athlons or pentiums.
it is funny to see your face and uper torso as a stoic image and then look behind you how your hands reflect in the play button glass showing a bit different image
Dual core i3’s always had HT (I’m pretty sure all dual core “Core i” branded chips did, including i5’s and even i7’s). Intel disabled it in the 8th and 9th gen models since it upped the core count to 4 (moving HT down to the Pentium branded models I believe).
I still don't get why they call it Pentium. Pentium was a groundbreaking architecture released in 94. Giving whole new instructions and power. That name deserves a lot better than to be used on the Low-End Lineup. Intel..? Just let it go.. The history is written. It will always be your best innovation to the x86 platform as we know it. The last pentium i had was in my Sony Vaio fit11 A, from 2014, i still have it around somewhere. It had a 2,4ghz pentium N3520.
Back then it was okay(ish) wasn't really made for gaming but it did the job. I remember being able to run world of warships on it.
Last one I owned was a pentium m in a Vaio A series laptop. it was pretty decent 15 years later.
Buying intel is hard right now for people on a budget because you can still buy older ryzen parts for cheaper and buy a brand new motherboard.
How many years in the future is pc gaming compared to console gaming including ps5?
I had a black Frankenstein ibm tower with a 3.8ghz pentium 4 in it growing up. It was named vader.
I have a G4620, and it's pretty nice, matching the specs of the i3 of the previous generation.
I snagged a ryzen 5 3600x for £132.90, on ebay. I usually miss these things but I got lucky. Better security is what I wanted, better than Intel chips. I'm now waiting for B550 to release, but I think I'll have a long wait :-(
I heard Intel next generation will have HT all across the range, i3-i9, not sure about the Celeron series though.
"hello everyone and welcome to another video" keeps getting faster and faster
@@Iam_Dunn Although, it is quite nice to have an activated windows. Since the one I had before had that activate windows message. So xD
Weird. I wonder if it'll ever pop up?
I remember about 4 years ago i found a pentium chip at 4 or 4.2ghz and never thought anything of it and sold it in a desktop tower, this was before i really knew anything about pc's...cant find that chip annnyyywhere at all but i know i definatly had one. Anyone know anything. Been driving me nuts
Wasnt it the 640? P4? You could overclock to 4ghz... but that CPU at 4ghz was slower than a core2 at 2.8ghz, IPC for the win.
wanted to do a Ryzen 2700x build but found this ( Intel Xeon E5-2430..@2.2Ghz..6 cores..Socket 1356)...could this equal a Ryzen with Rx 480....The Xeon is only £25
Crazycraigy ...I have an E5-2420V2 with an rx570, 16GB ECC 1666Mghz, 1TB Nvme.
Go for lga2011 or am4 leave lga1356 alone, you can get e5 2640 6cores for like 20$-25$ from ali express or e5 2689 8cores for 40$-60$
I got a laptop Maibenben Heimai 7 with a Pentiums G5420 (2c/4t) and GTX1650. Not a bad CPU, but I wish Intel put a decent GPU inside these entry level chips, because if those came with a UHD 620 or 630, it would be a serious competition for any Vega 3 APU, however... Intel put a punny UHD 610, which is pretty weak.
Is it Worth hype that my I5 2500k can reach 5.3GHz on AIR paired with my ASUS Z77 SABERTOOTH
Well they did do a rather rare 3.8ghz pentium 4 though it would have been interesting had they done a 4ghz version despite being a huge fail meme.
Seeing your hands moving in your youtube award had it cross my mind that, hey! maybe you should include your hands in the video. it would make your dialog more expressive ...or something, yeah lol
2:21 I thought this video was going to be a Pentium 4 one.
My first PC i built in late 2015 had a GTX 970 and a G3258 OCed and 8gb ram the i got a i5 4690K for my birthday a couple Months later.
I'm not using a pentium. I'm using a core2 duo E8500. Although it is one of the higher clocked core2 duo's available, it doesn't really hold up that well anymore.
Jarno de Wit ...I’m pretty sure I’ve got a system, over there in the corner, with an E8500 in it. It’s a great paperweight! ...LOL... :)
Make a video about the amd hd 8570 2gb drr3 in 2020. (It is the same as r5 240 or r7 240 ). :)
FYI, Athlon 3000G can go up to 4.1 GHz stable, for 50$ brand new.
Can you turn up your mic volume? I have it at max and i can barely hear you...
DrinkinTea ...something must be limiting your volume. I have no problem getting it very loud.
@@Iam_Dunn nope, every other vid is fine, this channel is the only one that feels with low volume.
I still use a Pentium cpu on my gaming pc and the newest thing on it is the ssd and second newest thing is my sapphire Rx 550
5700XT paired with a Pentium? What?
I found a Dutch site called maxict.nl where they sell it for 114 euros and they say they have it in stock and it could be shipped immediately.
Except their customer support is crap and they're known for shady schemes (shipping worse parts than you ordered being one of them)
Wow, I have never heard of the 5620
Tbh i think if you want to game on a budged you are much better off with high end hardware couple of generations back. You can get very good performance with same amount of money when buying new budget options like athlons or pentiums.
G3220 was in my system for my first build. i bought the mobo, cpu, and case for $40 USD
it is funny to see your face and uper torso as a stoic image and then look behind you how your hands reflect in the play button glass showing a bit different image
be rassured i3 are supposed to come whit hyper threading according to some info about 10 gen
Thumbs up if you still rocks a 1st. gen Pentium (Even the updated MMX model) ;)
Marketing. “Pentium” stickers on the front of machines were attractive to a certain market segment.
I would love to see you build a 50 dollar or pounds or euros PC. Can it be done? (that's my net worth right now, and coming fresh off your gtx 590 video, im jealous.)
Sure,I'm still have retro gaming system with Pentium Northwood 3.2 GHz,FX 5950 ultra...
I use the pentium D925, I plan to upgrade to the Q9650
I'm sure the lack of stock is due to Intel's ongoing shortages for 14NM chips where their OEMs and higher-end customers get priority.
the nostalgia oohhhh thumb up
what does nan (house) mean?
His grandmothers house
@@plapbandit thanks!
Theres a fake xbox on wish for about 30 USD, could you check it out? It says it has 3000+ games on it and would be a very entertaining video
well the Intel Pentium G6400 have 2 cores and 4 threads and 4ghz new 55.71 euro. same for the Intel Pentium G6600 but 4.2ghz new 84.30 euro :_:
I'm just here to announce that I will make the full step from plebdom to masterrace soon o7
I don't know why but the comments aren't showing. 1 view, 20 likes, 7 comments?? Ok I guess...
in germany this pentium was awailable since 11th august 2019. against the cost i can order one for you no problem (with paypal buyersprotection for you to ease worries)
