Blood in the Water: Sharks Circle Fresh Gray Whale Carcass

  • Not all death is a tragedy. Seeing a majestic animal like this Gray Whale in such a state can be profoundly emotional. I’ve never done well looking at death, but I’ve learned over the years just how vital whale carcasses are to the ecosystem. When a whale dies, it doesn’t just provide for the ecosystem, it BECOMES an ecosystem itself. While still on the surface it’s a crucial food source for sharks and pelagic birds. When the whale sinks to the bottom it’s referred to as a “whale fall”, providing vital food and resources for thousands of animals. Absolutely no part of this whale will go to waste.

I can’t believe the population has declined by 50% in such a few short years. It’s sad, but everything like this can be traced directly back to us. Yet, people are still in denial that our actions are causing the death of this planet, and the creatures on it.

@@The.uncopyrightablepopulation size is inevitable. The issue is lack of any planning or sufficient investment in the tech we need to deal with that inevibility. The fact that theyve been pooring trillions into wind and solar instead of nuclear is absulutely outrageous. Not that we dont need all of them, we will, but nuclear or better is the only thing that makes the human project plausible long term. And unless theres a mass ex event, pretty sure we arent going back to small numbers.

I watched this video for 15-20 minutes just thinking and realizing that many things like this has happened during my lifetime and that with few exceptions such as my own pets dying I haven’t thought much in detail about the circle of life and how we’re all affected by it but maybe not as much as we should be.

Circle of Life is still pure in Ocean.. unlike in Land...corrupted..
Whatever man eats converts into poo that never nourishes land properly unlike Whales and Elephant poops which act as fertilizers of their eco system

o the whale seems to have been very sick, very pale and thin, I think he died naturally Even though I find it sad, now he doesn't have to suffer anymore .
whether it is the whale that was recently reported ,If so, at least now he doesn't have to suffer anymore and can become one with the sea again.
    thanks for the report

Circle of life is defined as the symbolic representation of Birth, Survival & Death in the natural cycle.
Life is represented as a circle because it's a constant loop rotating in a cycle or circle.
The video footage narration never state the specific cause of this deceased gray whale.
There are few factors that can anticipate the death of wildlife,
whether it might be contributed by humans mistakes, climate change, lack of food resources or old age......
this form of death still falls into the universal law of nature as the circle of life.
However, significantly an optimistic biological insight is the natural death/carcass of gray whale can breed & support a whole marine ecosystem of thousands of microorganisms & wildlife for a long time, giving hope to new lives in the ocean.
Genuinely sad yet amazing biological fact.
