Ive noticed this as well I workout in the mornings before breakfast and after I’ve eaten before definitely feel stronger after eating but before burns way more fat Bc that’s what ur body is gonna use for energy and then when u eat after u get better benefits from ur meal imo since it’s ur first meal plus post workout

@@lanhikari4930 I always workout fasted it’s the most beneficial way to see progress imo since when u first wake up test levels are at its peak vs later in the day when they go down drastically and better for getting lean when u workout fasted and over time you produce more hgh then someone who doesn’t workout fasted
Edit: I do not train fasted anymore but I do train first thing in the morning I take 100 calories worth of gummy supplements eat a serving of Greek yogurt a kiwi and 2 of these oatmeal bites then slam a goat fuel energy drink and ride my bike to the gym and go train with a bit of food in my stomach but idrc it’s not like I’m eating a fat meal it’s a bit of optimal snacking

He’s right about the food not being converted into energy until a long relatively period of time has passed, but the one thing a small snack will do immediately is raise your blood sugar and cause insulin to be secreted. Most people wake up in the morning with a fasting blood sugar of 70-80 mg/dL which will adversely affect energy levels to some degree.

I just had an endoscopy done last week and the gastro's impressions were that I have gastritis and an ulcer. I think fasting during my morning workouts was the culprit. Looking for advice from a reader:
I used to workout fasted all the time in the morning. It wasn't until after my pregnancy that I wasn't able to do that anymore. I wonder if I reconditioned myself to think that I absolutely have to have meal before a workout? Because now I feel nauseous if I don't eat a couple of hours before my workout. I don't get light headed or anything, I just get real nauseated if I don't eat. Recently, my schedule has changed to where I'm not able to get in my daily workouts. I've decided that if I want to keep up with my fitness routine that I just need to go back to morning workouts, but like the guys in the video said, I'd rather sleep another hour than wake up earlier to eat. Should I practice again fasted workouts? I'm not overweight. I'm at a healthy 14-15% bf. I usually eat a good enough meal at night for me to not be ravenous the next morning. Can a hormonal shift be the cause of my nausea if I don't eat? Is that even possible? A hormonal imbalance can do some crazy things to a person's body. Or is it all in my head?

    • @behqo7658

I caught this three months too late but still would like to know how you've been doing, aswell as give you my prespective.
So unfortunately I have no idea about the hormonal imbalance in the female body, but I imagine the keys to avoid it are the very basics you've heard or read a million times. Look into your sleep duration and its quality, your stress levels, include healthy fats in your diet, have sex, have fun... Ofcourse having a baby can interfere with all that!
Also, the body fat percentage for bikini competitors is like 10-15 and probably way too lean for a mother specially if she's breast feeding!

It's just a matter of time getting used to fasted workouts in the morning.
Hunger can cause nausea that's common enough, it should pass.
I think if you did this for a week you'd already be past it.
Just gotta make sure you still eat all the food you need later in the day.

Banana&handful of almonds, oatmeal with sliced peaches, and etc. Me personally, I've been a physical labourer most of my life(woodcutter, farm jobs, and etc) so I like to have a bowl of cereal and a coffee because going to the gym is kinda the same as going to work.

OK WHOA THERE. A glass of juice on empty stomach may allow your body to absorb more of the vitamins and nutrients, you gotta keep in mind that for many people this is not a good idea, as juice is very acidic, and could actually do some harm. Many people may start to get acid reflux and some who have a sensitive stomach like myself may even get heartburn or in worse case scenarios after doing it for a while be it months or years ULCERS. So i would never recommend to my clients to take a glass of juice or soda or energy drinks on an empty stomach.

  • @JustANewDay

Depends on a person's personal preference. Military wise, we ate after working out in the morning. Your body is much more hardened than you think, you'll survive if you don't eat prior. If your feeling light headed, drink more water overall. If you feel sluggish , drink more water overall. You fall and sprain your ankle?, drink more water and pop that ibuprofen your good to go!

I lift weights to build muscle. I think have some protein or amino acids in my system is important so that I can build muscle. If my goal is weight loss I think fasted cardio is a great idea and I typically can go harder in my cardio because I would feel less bloated.

There would have been times in our stages of development over many thousands probably millions of years where food was just not always available, we would not have just wore down without energy to keep going, nature would have had to build something into our genetics to keep us energic enough and on the go until we found the next meal. But in this day and age where food is generally available by opening the fridge or upon walking into a shop, we have been born into this environment and have limited depth of understanding in this regard. When we fast our genetics understands this even if we don't have a working conscious knowledge, one thing that can work against our bodies in a fasted state is what we have put into our bodies in this so-called modern world, such as drugs and ultra processed foods which would have been absent during our evolutionary development.
