I am scared to death the way these thieves can get access to mobile phone accounts, i keep two phones which hopefully will enable me to block cancel bank apps etc should the worse happen, i keep one phone separate at all times but accessible should i need it. Very good vlog, thanks.

I change my mind actually, if they get your phone unlocked, they can bypass biometric locks on bank apps IF your email app has no safeguards.....

When you mentioned the spree the scammer went on leads me to think whether they have dedicated laundering shops they use. They could be sharing the profits this way as going to a card machine would givethem away. Just because an order is placed doesn't mean it has to be delivered and I imagine they're colluding on this. The police/banks need to forensically investigate the places the money is spent and if they are more prominent. A few years ago I was sent into alert mode for my worst nightmare as I saw transactions on my current account. When I rang them they said it was a know scam being committed and many transactions had gone to a certain food outlet via just eat. They were a independent eatery. I hadn't lost my card or phone neither been compromised to my best knowledge. It could have been via credential stuffing but I'm more of the belief it's the restaurants mishandling our card data. I never used card and PIN in any independents and only purchased via just eat a few times.

How about just not using apps and all that nonsense? Ditch the "smart"phone?

I found this video frustratingly vague. You can easily skip to 09:50 as the dialogue before this is mostly redundant to the video title

When it comes to security. Apple is still more secure than Android, especially when it comes to privacy. As mentioned SIM Lock & Stolen Device Protection is a must.

@@andymerritt7347 Am I not referring to the correct thing when I use that term? I'm talking about the fingerprint lock you can turn on on a smartphone. Does this not fall under the definition your just outlined?
