      BREED FOR ME! 😆 I'm aware of how hard trimming is for you, but to me, they all look a million times better after the trim. If I can't see the fish enjoying the scape, it loses so much. That mountain tank after the trim!! 💕 Be safe on your trip 🙂

      American Flag Fish eat hair and thread algae. Mainly vegetarian. Mine are super mellow (a male/female pair) but I hear some can be nippy and territorial. But of all my fish the Flags are the most fun to watch- very curious and always exploring the entire tank.

    Remember MD EVERYTHING is content : ) Even maintenance. I think we all just enjoy seeing your tanks, learning along the way. Keep the content coming. It would be great if you could do a new series that is just like 10min clips of different tanks with chill background music. Maybe a little informational text on the screen, but mostly just watch the tank and chill. I know my wife and I would love to enjoy your tanks vicariously!

    The neon Tetra Tank turned out absolutely beautiful and very natural looking 😍
    I just think they enjoy a water change, I noticed every fish I have always has to get right up under the water coming in and dance all over the place 🤣
    I have just started setting up aquariums again and I went back to the days where we/you went and dug soil out of the yard to start a dirted tank and I use a black sand to use ase substrate tank .. the only things I've set up so far has been some very small Nano tanks ,but I have some projects coming up and of course your videos always inspire me 🥰🙏
    We always need the "RAZOR BLAADE with lubrication 🤣🤣🤣 satisfying 🤣🤣💚
    I also don't understand either why people don't love snails..
    as long as you're not overfeeding, Snails are such a beneficial part of the ecosystem in your tanks! They also a lot of fun to watch.... plus they provide food for some fish....
    so I don't worry about snails.
    Plants and plants and more plants 🤣🌿 is the secret to my success 🌿💚

    • @kaigiddings1597
      @kaigiddings1597 3 года назад +1

      The ph should be around 7, ammonia and nitrite should be 0 and nitrate should be around 20 if the tank is planted but never above 40. The temperature depends on the fish you would like to stock. Before you get the fish ask someone at the pet shop you get them from or do some research. There is loads of fish forum's with all of this information.

    I keep snails in all my tanks, trumpet snails and bladder/pond snails. People give them a bad rep because of their rapid breeding habbits but I find that they only breed out of control when you first introduce them, once snail populations expload there will be a massive die off, and from there onwards the populations will be controlled. A year ago there was trumpets all over my tanks but now I struggle to find them.

    You should live stream a future tank for 3 to 6 months some day. Just to prove that you’re not dosing c02 on the low. Hahaha I’m kidding man. But seriously. To be honest it would be dope to see a live stream of a tank. You don’t even have to talk to the camera at all.

    Also is there any way we can get your water quality measurements? I’ve done EVERYTHING you do. And I’ve achieved the exact opposite results…. I just gotta know. I’m sure a lot of us want to know haha

    Hey, I was just wondering where to get your aquarium wood, stones, etc. I’ve been taking care of fish for around 8 months now. I’m new to live plants but I want to setup a more natural tank.

      Depending where you're from there are different sources. MD gets a lot of his sticks from outside his home. I get a lot of my hardscape from my local fish stores or even the chain stores like PetSmart and Petco. Really just take a walk around a park and pick up what you think has an interesting shape or what would fit the theme you're going for. Whether its Jungle Rivers, slow flowing streams, lakes, or even small ponds. Theres rocks and wood laying about pretty much everywhere.

      @@BossMkII thank you so much. I’ve been slowly preparing a 20 gallon tank for a pair of German blue rams so I wanted to make sure they have hides and live plants. Thanks for taking the time to write this.

      @@noorrah236 You may want to do some research online about using found wood and stones in the aquarium. There are lists of what kind of trees you can get wood from, and articles and videos about how to prepare it, info about how to test whether the stones are likely to change your aquarium parameters, etc.

    How often do you feed ? I loved having snails as well till I’ve had an explosion of them in my 30 gallon,, now they are breeding so fast I can’t stop them :(

    • @dennisvanopstal7360
      @dennisvanopstal7360 3 года назад +1

      Snails reproduce according to food availability.
      So when their population explodes you are either overfeeding or you dont syphon the bottom good enough so detritus builds up here and there.
