what’s next?
@@ImDarin "The Pot" is a great middle-ground between their totally off-the-wall stuff and something that's "almost" radio-friendly.
@@stupidtool Got the link for it?
@@ImDarin you should start with all the old songs and work up to new. The Tool official page for the songs, and have lyrics ready and you’ll be good

you sure?

Tool Army - All of us.🌀
Tool is the GOAT! Spiral out bud 🌀🌀🌀👁🧘🏻♂🙌🏼
Formed in 1990 and still active ,they are usually considered Alternative rock/metal, but some fans will tell you they are their own genre. They are definitely unique.
This is the title track to their 3rd album released 2002.
Lead singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones and drummer Danny Carey are original members. Bassist Justin Chancellor replaced Paul D'Amour in 1995 in the only lineup change.
Since you liked this, some other songs to try by them are : Sober, Pneuma, 46 &2,, Schism, and The Pot.
Don’t forget h,anemia, stink fist or eulogy or invincible or undertow uk what my guy should just listen to every album start to finish from opiate to fear inoculem or however you spell it
He is considered one the greatest drummers of our time.
Save time by cutting out useless words like “considered”. 😂
The Pot, 46&2, Descending, Parabol/Parabola(these two go together), The Grudge, Pneuma (especially the drum cam focusing on the drummer Danny Carey, he is amazing and though ALL the band members are supreme I confess I'm all about the drums and Danny never disappoints, he's phenomenal!) There are just so many killer Tool songs. I'm a 60 year old woman who has been a Tool fan from the beginning btw!
Greatest song ever written.
Here for TOOL! They don't have a bad song. Greatest band ever! Start at the beginning.
You just got a subscribe from me. The more you get into Tool the more you will realize they are legendary and no song is bad. If you want to enhance things ten fold, stick with studio tracks with lyrics pulled up and it will blow your mind. We all know the words so don't worry about us but the words transform your thinking.
Dude yeah. 100%
Please do more Tool. Try 46&2. Also they obviously won’t all be your favorites but they really don’t have any bad songs. Google the lyrics if you’re interested in what’s being said. My man is a straight up poet and the musicians are basically geniuses especially the drummer. Also their lyrics are typically either extremely deep or extremely sarcastic. The whole double edged sword thing. Keep going and you’ll feel the true inspiration. It’s easier when you’re younger and more impressionable. But these guys are the real deal. Been rolling with them for over 2 decades now. Guess we all get old, lol. You might have just opened Pandora’s box. You’re welcome. 😎
Exploring Tool is not a waste of your time. Lyrically they range from very literal to beyond cryptic. The music is, in a word, mesmerizing and always pays off after the build. But not always the way you expect.
You from literally and beyond cryptic to ridiculously vague. The best thing to do for new listeners is to not even worry about the lyrics at first and concentrate on how the music makes you feel. And any new listener is going to have a really difficult time unpacking half of the s*** Maynard says because I'm not even sure he knows what the f*** it means and that's fine LOL
@@brandonhinrichs4393 yea, the drugs can have that effect.
This song is based off a mathematical set of numbers known as the Fibonacci sequence, the number of syllables in the verses match numbers in the sequence
The more times you listen to this song, the more you will come to realize how incredible it really is. Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
Tool is a once in a lifetime band. There won't be another Pink Floyd, nor will there be another Tool. There are some comparisons between the two bands, but both are special in their own ways.
Percussion: Danny Carry - Arguably one of the best drummers to have ever done it. I never paid attention to drumming until I listened to Danny Carry.
Bass: Adam Chancellor - one of the best melodic bass players you will listen to. His simple, yet complex sounding notes mould well with Danny. The two are the heartbeat/blood of the band.
Guitar: Adam Jones - To date, still one of the most underrated guitar players. What he "lacks" in quick playing, or complex playing, he makes up for in literally the sound of Tool. He drives the atmosphere, the feel, the emotion, the rawness of the music. He cemented himself as one of the best in 7empest, as he took the reins for once in music and tore it up. The solo was on par with Third Eye as his best imo.
James Maynard Keenan: Vocals - My generations Queen. I compare them for a reason, even if they are two different people. Some people might see where I am coming from. Maynard is a clown, a tool, a radical, a troll. He is also a lover who is incredibly sensual with himself. His genius is amazing. He has two other bands he has fronted (A Perfect Circle and Puscifer) each having his own take on music. In my opinion, one of the greatest singers of all time of any genre.
Tool - this is a psychedelic band/progressive metal band - I perceive this band as a spiritual journey. You do not need drugs to experience Tool. Being said, if you partook and sat back and dove in, you will come out with something from it. Tool is meant for to provoke your thoughts. To separate what you believe to be real or illusion. Tool from their earliest album to their latest album, really enunciates the human experience, the good and bad and everything in-between The music is wonderful for people who are going through life in a hard way or for people that just want something different. Their music is complex like Mozart in a way. Everything has its place. Each member makes up Tool.
Each Tool song is a journey…. Every member of this band is a master of their craft
Tool Army here!! Welcome and subbed because I’m not wearing socks. Keep it up with Tool and more of us will come. A few tips for Tool, pull up the lyrics on your phone, only do audio versions (except a very few live versions, we will suggest which ones), do t worry about how long the videos are we will watch them, try to stay in one album at a time starting at early stuff if you can, some songs come in two/three tracks (we will tell you), and react in your style we love a different view. Have fun and spiral out
Basically 😂
Danny Carey, Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor & Maynard Keenan. Legendary music peiod.
Live concert is a masterclass on sound and visuals. Their whole discography is pretty amazing, creative and insightful. Musicianship is unmatched by most, not all but most. The drummer is one of the best around.
You will not regret going down the rabbit hole of Tool. Come join the Tool Army! Sub'd, keep'em coming
Look Up What This Song Is About And How They Constructed It.. Mind Blowing!
You couldn’t have found a better song for a better band to start the journey you’re asking for. Keep going. Suggested: 46&2, The Pot, Pneuma, Sober (live pro cam)
Been around since 92. My fav band of all time. Try 46 and 2 next. 👍
From the first EP?

Sober live, Descending, The Pot...Man so many awesome options. These guys are a lot of peoples' favorite band. Top 5 for me with Metallica, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and...I meant top 4 for me lol.
Welcome to Tool. We have been expecting you.
My philosophy on all music is out there in the void of space and time and it comes to you when you need it. All my life music has been a constant in my life and when I needed the most it always there. And when I discover new music it’s because I’m ready for it. Music always waits and finds you, if you just listen.
Solid reaction! You're in for a treat because TOOL is a one of a kind find and we're glad to be along for the journey... I'd suggest Sober or The Pot from TOOL next given the more mainstream appeal/accessibility of those tracks before the deeper cuts. Spiral Out!
Welcome to the Tool Army. Lots more. ❤
honored 🥹
I got to see Tool at Lollapalooza 97 in Indiana and again in the 2000s in Idaho. Both experiences are something you have to have for yourself, it is as spiritual as a person like me gets. These guys helped change my life :)
Just diving right in the deep end with lateralus! Keep going. The tool army is here for it
Liked just because it's Tool!
I love that, like for real.
Subscribed! Thanks so much for your great reaction! "The Pot" is my personal request, hopefully others chime in with this. So different but so amazing!
You have the check out the drum can version of Danny Carey playing Pneuma. Danny has been nicknamed by his fans the octopus. Once you see this you don't understand why
Yes, please start from the beginning
Great reaction brother. Tool will never disappoint. I discovered them in 1997 and hooked ever since. Keep it up and keep them coming.

Fantastic my brother. I'm glad your enjoying hearing Tool. One of my all time favorite. I got to see them live on tour promoting thus album, I saw them in Boston right after the new bridge was built and the Garden became the T D Garden.

You earned a sub from me, Tool can really take you on a journey - so many good songs to choose from. Spiral out my friend.
1,1,2,3,5,8......Love this song. One of the best ever.
Odd thing about Tool live in concert, during this tour anyways, vocalist Maynard stood next to the drum riser, stage Left, most of the show, he was watching Danny play drums like a hawk; his vocals mirror the drum cadence and he wanted to be on-point for the rhythmic timing, Maynard was watching Danny Carey on the drums the entire time, to get his cadence and timing just right, it was King Crimson level perfection; that is to say, Maynard didn't stand stage-center, certainly must see them live, trust any one of us, THIS is a must-see band live
welcome!

TOOL can offer you SO much!
Welcome aboard my friend, Tool is the most influential band currently recording heavy music. This song is also based on the Fibonacci sequence,
Aenema is absolutely phenomenal! But watch The Pot, first!
Saw them in January for the first time after 25 years of being a fan. Let’s just say it was well worth the wait and the parking ticket I got. There is no shortage of content by these guys and if you ever do reach the end of their discography Maynard has two other bands you can fall into. Enjoy!
Your mind ,body & spirit is now on a next level journey!
Great reaction!..👍😎

Watch the drum cam of their drummer Danny Carey on the live song Pneuma. The guy is a monster!
Deepend diving🔥🔥
Finally, someone who didn't start off with The Pot
It is gonna happen unfortunately but I don’t know when, I just heard about it, good song?
@@ImDarin its an okay song by Tool, but its not one of their best. You started off with one of the beset songs with Lateralus.
Its still good and you should still listen to it at some point, much more simple and straightforward piece as well. The analogies in The Pot is very direct, the analogies in Lateralus, Parabola, Fear Innoculum, or a number of their other great pieces have like over 10 different overlapping meanings to them.
As a fan I just find it frustrating sometimes when people gravitate towards the most digestible pieces of art then it gets confused with being their best piece because its the one most people can most easily choke down and get all the meaning out of it
Try the song The Grudge. It is about holding grudges and how they will destroy you. EPIC SCREAM!! YES TOOL!
Liked and subscribed! Definitely agree with others, start out with older stuff. The pot is a great fist (or second 😂). Enjoy the ride
Pink Floyd
Tool
A perfect circle
I have live footage of them from earlier this year on my channel, I also have Tool guitar covers🤘

Got a sub from me! Can't wait to see you go through more Tool tracks =) I'm seeing really great suggestions in the comments so just pick one and be prepared to be blown away!
how about:
Quicksand "dine alone"
Mogwai: "This Messiah Needs Watching"
HELMET: "unsung"

I think after hearing this song you should research what the words mean and the meaning of the song along with the time signatures which coincide with the golden ratio and such....
It will blow your mind 😊
If you are realy new to the Rock music in general Tool is a way huge jump to properly appreciate it, its like discovering Hip Hop or electronic music by listening to Amon Tobin, it just wont work. I would suggest getting to the roots of that genre and checking on bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Doors, The WHO, Electric Light Orchestra, Lynyrd Skynyrd or Pink Floyd and potentialy jazz rock like Weather Report, Jethro Tull or Mahavishnu Orchestra all being the predecesors and big influence on progressive rock genre and bands like Tool in general. Safe to say its realy odd to see reactions to bands like Deep Purple i was listening to when i was like 8, shit i feel so damn old :(
Just wait till he watches the Music Videos.
Challenge accepted.
