**UPDATE**
It seems that the UK and EU do indeed have different models of the Mini 4 Pro. Some of my EU friends have confimed their drones are LOCKED to 120m altitude!!!

Lithuania - locked to 120m :(
What is the limit for a drone bought drom USA ? Does it depend on the area you are in or the model you buy?
Belgium here (EU). My mini 4 pro arrived today, it has a C0 label and just as you have shown in the video, I can increase beyond 120m after confirming a warning about breaking regulations. I did get all the latest updates so at least the firmwareas of date doesn't seem to enforce the limit for me
Czechia (EU) can’t set the limit higher than 120m.
Thanks for the update to the video, much appreciated and great review
Dji have now addressed this for all users, you just get the warning prompt when selecting above 120m
Just flew mine in the US...not an issue here
Extending the range to 20 km and limiting the altitude to 120m are exceptionally strange.
Range of 20km only available in USA when using FCC mode. The CE mode used in UK/Europe can barely manage 3km.
@@hariboholmes4638Is FCC hardware or software or it just depends where you fly the same drone?
thanks for confirming... ive been wondering this myself.
The height limit of 120 meters are only in the EU (EASA). Now, UK is using the CAA rules and is not part of the EU.
so is it limited to 120m?
Thank you for that confirmation I really appreciate it! Now I’m just waiting on a US range test.
Anyone know what the limit will be in the UK after January 2024? Will it be hard limited after, does anyone know I wonder.
Great video Simon. Question, I know if you’re on a mountain you can fly 400ft above the mountain, is it still the same if you’re on the top level of a multi storey Carpark, which say is 100ft high?
Please document what firmware version you were using ( in case things change i future).
Hi buddy. What's the screen like on the dji rc 2 in sunlight ?
Are the older drones being updated to have this limitation?
It is locked to 120m altitude in Europe!. The slider in the App goes only to 120m. You guys in the UK are lucky!
Wow, yeah a few people have confirmed that for me now - could be a frustrating limitation in certain circumstances!
There is a way to put it in fcc mode. Maybe that will get rid of the limit
@@grizzlybear2702 Not yet - so far I know
sucks, bro. Im in the US and it's the same software lock at 1640FT as before with earlier drones.
no, it isnt. they have changed it recently as it's not law in europe,. yet
Does it still allow you to go above 120m? I read on the DJI website that they had to remove the hard limit in September due to a software bug but it was going to be reverted before EU rules came into force in January...
Hello. I have a dji mini 4 pro. I fly it in UK. The max distance on the max altitude (120m) is only 1700m, then I completely lose a signal between RC2 AND MY DRONE DJI MININI 4 PRO can someone tell me how to improve the signal( Thanks.
120m limit depends on the geolocation according the actual gps data.. No different models or firmware versions. If you travel to the EU with your drone the 120m limit will also apply.
Do you have any source for this statement?
Anyone know if you'll get the 'Declassification Prompt' in Ireland? As its an EU country and abides by the EASA. So I assume it'll work there?
120m limit is now 500m after firmware update
Dostum ben finlanya dan aldim türkiyede uçuş yapacam benim icin yükseklik sıniri kisitli olacakmi
Thanks for confirming Simon many of our members were wondering. Why not join us, we like the reviews you do as we don't just buy drones 😉
Is the altitude measured from the take-off point or is the altitude measured from the ground directly below the drone? eg if you fly the drone up the side of a hill, the two measurements would be different
From the take off point.
It would interest me, what happen if you go now, with the current firmware into EU. Would be still possible to fly over 120 meters?
It will lock your drone to 120 mts and you will not be able to change it so I have been informed.
@@DotComDrones1 I understand but I am still not sure it is already implemented or first from 1st January on?
@@Damian-tx9tr If you purchase the drone in Spain like me it's max 120mts out of the box, it's due to geo-location I believe, so if you buy yours in the UK then travel to Spain I think that as soon as you turn on your drone it will recognise where you are and lock it to 120 mts.
Have you tested the range distance
No, not yet.
do range test also lets see it can go 20km in real life
What is the limit for a drone bought from USA?
It's according to gps data. When you fly in EU country the 120m limit will be applied!!!!
How do you fly higher legally?
You are given the option to register the drone officially and then you have to take your drone flying licence I believe.
Juat wait until January when that firmware will be baked in
I’ve taken mine to 900 feet easily. UK.
When did you buy it? Looking at getting a mini 4 pro and because I fly around mountains a lot the 120m thing would really be an issue.
At the moment in the EU we have 500 m😅, but what will happen in 2024. 😮
It wouldnt be fair for folks living near mountain areas
Wondering if that applies for Serbia, as we are not in the EU??? Hmmm
UK is not any more in EU and has no 120m limit. So it can be the same for Serbia!!!
@@Mrthezanax got ya, cheers!
Is here someone who could kindy test following scenario: a DJI mini 4 pro owned in US/UK where the C0 limitation of 120m/400ft doesn't apply but if you travel into UE, will it be recognized based on geolocation and the maximal high will be reduced there (during visiting EU) to 120m/400ft or will it happen first after an upcoming future update?
Brexit's ultimate perk
Pre 2024 date, most pro 4 can fly higher
the UK wont as were not in the EU so its irrelivant for the UK user....
Are u on the European Union ? I think not …
No, UK here.
Just don't travel abroad with it because it will lock your drone to 120 mts.
The UK has freed itself from the EU so it can fly higher ;)
Wheeeeeeee!
If you use it outside EASA rules....EASA rules and class doesn't apply ;DDDD
Interesting! Is the limitation software based which updates when you take the drone into a different region? Makes me think it could be removed with a custom app if so!
@@SimonsReviews it could be so...is it not the same with FCC, if you take a mini 3 in usa FCC activates itself I think...
Bro are you that scared to do the whole test!
No he is responsible
lthe price of utube fame....
filming yourself publicly going above 400 ft purposely .....
just why not film as you move up a hill lol
