Halloween costume idea: Alice in Wonderland - You could be Alice, Erik could be Mad Hatter, Flyn could be Cheshire Cat and the twins could be Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum ! ❤
My parents did that when I was 10 lol but we’re a family of seven so I was Cheshire Cat, my mom was the Queen of Hearts, my dad was Mad Hatter, my older sister was Alice, my younger sister was the Caterpillar, and my little brothers were Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee. But my brothers didn’t like being called Tweedle-dum so we called them the Tweedles.
We’ve also done the whole Scooby gang catching bad guys. One of my brothers and I were dressed as zombies but without the masks on and had ropes wrapped around us. It was pretty great aside from when I actually had to do something, hard to move when you can’t 😂
Since Maisy hates synthetic uncomfortable fabrics, you can just make (or have made) the costume you want for her in a softer fabric. She could still be Tinkerbell for example, but have her dress made in cotton or something.

I love costumes with a Winnie the Pooh theme!! Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Christopher Robin, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo!! So many options and you could do tons of combos of the characters since they’re somewhat gender neutral

Toy Story themed costumes could be SO CUTE. Erik as Woody, Colleen as Jessie, and for the kids there's lots of characters to pick from! Slinky dog, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Potato head (& Ms. Potato head), Rex... and these are only from the first movie! 😍😍😍😍

To help with Maisy’s texture aversion with clothing you can try putting summery/thin plain white (or whatever solid color you want) pjs on her under the costume. That way very little of the costume is actually touching her skin. We do that here in Michigan usually like heavy sweatpants because Halloween is cold as hell here.

Just saw on insta a cute family outfit where it’s toy story themed and they had the two babies be the front half and back half of Slinky (the dog) with the curly wire connected between them. It was adorable 🥳🙌
Since Maisy loved the Banana costume, you could all be "fruit salad". So everyone could be a different fruit, and someone could be a chef. I feel like it could be cute

Flynn’s crab costume, plus you mentioning you love Disney gave me an idea: What about a Little Mermaid family costume? You and Erik could be Ariel and Eric (he already has the same name, so that’s perfect), Flynn could be Sebastian, and one of the twins could be Flounder. One tip for kids who have fabric texture sensitivities- put long leggings on them, not tights, but thicker leggings or even sweatpants, and it will keep the texture of the costume away from their skin. This was the cutest video ever!!

i seriously love seeing flynn express himself how he wants. a lot of the time, parents wouldn’t let their boys wear an owlette costume, because the original character was a girl, or the fact that he loves gabbys dollhouse, which is normally shown as a “girls show”. it’s so cool seeing you completely accept him and what he wants to do/be
Yes, and he freely loves trucks and tractors and bugs. He’s balanced and gets to be free. He’s so sweet and caring. Colleen and Erik are great parents.

Colleen, you are an amazing mother!! You let your son pick out his own costumes, and I know a lot of parents who pick out costumes for their kids that are big enough to make those decisions for themselves. Also I love that when Maisy doesn't like the costumes you don't make her keep it on, or still wear it for Halloween, but you just take it off. Keeping a bit to the Disney theme, you could do the Aristocats. Erik as O’Malley, Colleen as Duchess and the children as the kittens. And it works as well because there were two male kittens and one female

Eventhough the incredibles are a classic costume choice for families, you guys have all of the family members for it! You as ElastiGirl (Mrs. Incredible), Erik as Mr. Incredible, Maisy as baby Violet, Flynn as Dash, and Wesley as Jack-Jack! Wesley would be so adorable with his hair spiked up like jack jack and Flynn’s blonde hair works perfect for Dash.

It would be kind of a throw back but you could all dress up as the characters from Lunette and the big comfy couch. The twins would make adorable dust bunnies.

A family idea could be using the Sea Creature theme! Colleen could be a mermaid, Erik as Triton or a shark, Flynn as a crab or the octopus since he loved it so much, and Wesley can be the cute starfish. Maisy might do well as a fish or whale if that’s easy to find and not uncomfortable for her! I hope I helped

TOY STORY FAMILY COSTUMES!!!! The twins could be the front and back of slinky OR you could be bowpeep and the kiddos could be the sheep but idk how Flynn would like that haha!! I feel like Toy Story theme will allow each of you to freely pick who youd like to be while still being together!
