They didn’t do the walk full justice in the movie. In the book she’s in a wheel chair by the time they get married, but she gets up to walk down the isle to Landon (I don’t remember for sure; but I think she has to be in the wheel chair for the actual wedding). The fact that she walked at all at the wedding was the important part.
It’s been well over a decade since I read the book, but I do remember feeling a little betrayed by some of the key differences, like the time period, the retrospective from an older Landon, and whooo, the gut punch of the bit where Jamie was sick with something curable by modern standards and she probably would have lived had it been a decade or so later.
I also remember that Landon isn’t a “bad” kid. He actually meets Jamie because he wins a school election and is required to bring a date to a school dance, and he waits too long and asks her because no one else is available. She then asks him to join the school play and he agrees. They become friends pretty naturally. His friends are a tad confused and a little rude, but not antagonistic. The dad storyline makes more sense, as he’s an absent congressman, not a divorced doctor who seems to actively care about his kid.
This. The book was my favorite in middle and high school. The book always had me in tears
The Adventure of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 2005- Full Movie HD
Wow I never knew that 😭 💔
**Woman "saves" man with her love and then she dies so that he can go on and be a better person** is a whole genre in itself
A sister genre of the manic pixie dream girl, who fixes a depressed guy with her free spirit and then floats away into the rainbow. Or something like that :D
Something about that, doesn't sit right in my spirit.
@@Evija3000pretty much eternal sunshine and 500 days of summer and all their siblings
@@lesbiangoddess290 okay 500 days of summer was a deconstruction of the trope though.
@@lesbiangoddess290 500 Days of Summer was supposed to avert the Manic Pixie trope. The film is Joseph Gordon Levitt's romantic "memories" of the relationship with the cute, flighty, "manic pixie" Summer, until it's revealed at the end that he was only remembering the positive parts of a crappy relationship. Even the director said the point of the films was along the lines of "You should find happiness in yourself, not a pretty girl or relationship."
I forgot Landon was furious at his dad for being a cardiologist and not having a secret cure for cancer. 😂
Same
Same lol 😂
This was sooooo relatable to me as a kid because I remember being mad about everything my dad did because I couldn’t communicate why I was really mad!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Whatcha going to do when your lets you down when he walks out on you and your mom. Then the ONE time you ask for his help he can't help you. Irrational perhaps but the angry teenager in me understands.
In the book she’s so sick she can barely stand, so her walk down the isle was really powerful! That’s where the title comes from haha
Oh really
my heart when i read that scene in the book. i felt mad when the movie didn't emphasize the scene
@@marklouis1890Yes. From the last chapter:
"It was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make.
In every way, a walk to remember..."
Jamie's philosophy in this movie was basically do no harm but take no shit with the added values of Christianity and I lived for it
It was savage AND considerate! What a boss!
The ending of the movie was different from the book. Here, I'll include the ending of the book -
"The doors opened and I saw Jamie, seated in her wheelchair, a nurse by her side. With all the strength she had left, Jamie stood shakily as her father supported her. Then Jamie and Hegbert slowly made their way down the aisle, while everyone in the church sat silently in wonder. Halfway down the aisle, Jamie suddenly seemed to tire, and they stopped while she caught her breath. Her eyes closed, and for a moment I didn't think she could go on. I know that no more than ten or twelve seconds elapsed, but it seemed much longer, and finally she nodded slightly. With that, Jamie and Hegbert started moving again, and I felt my heart surge with pride. It was, I remember thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember."
I'm tearing up. That's beautiful

'Oh sorry I'm dying on Saturday'
🤣🤣🤣
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm dying on Saturday." 😂😂😂😂😂😂 all three of us going to hell because I don't even want to tell you how hard I laughed on that one
You know the music playing on the radio in the car scene at 9:00 was actually their own music. Mandy kept changing it back to her own song, and Shane changed it to his band "Germs", where he was the singer. :'D
That’s cool
I read the book back in high school, but i remember her wedding being much more sad. She was in a wheelchair and couldn’t walk properly but it was her dream to walk down that aisle. Landon describes it at the most difficult thing he has seen someone do and when she made it to the alter everyone was crying and in joy. She did the rest of the wedding sitting down and him on his knees in front of her.
bruh that sounds emotional af
@@heathern8043 for real! Why didn’t they do that!? My 13 yr old self would have been balling with snot everywhere lol 😂
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME THIS IM A WRECK
I read it and it made me ugly cry. I don't cry while reading books. It puts a great but heart wrenching scene in your head.
Rizzo: nitpicks every step the characters take, trying to find ‘the walk’
Also Rizzo: blanks out the walk down aisle
The scene when shane west knocks on his dad's door to ask him to help his dying girlfriend was the only reason I voted for this video. Hahaha you guys did not disappoint.
Hahah wow, you definitely set us up well there
@@PinkPopcast you guys should react to "See" they just started season 2... you will be ahead of the curve of reactors. Lol it's really fucking crazy.
@@PinkPopcast or firefly... or dollhouse. Cause Joss whedon is a God.
y’all i didn’t hydrate enough today to be crying over this movie
😂😂😂this comment
😂 I know the compliment is 2 years late but this comment is brilliant
"Her love is like the wind, I can't see it but I can feel it". My favorite quote from the movie. ♡
“Toss her out of a plane she’ll just parachute down” rizzo pls 😂😭
I think, what I like about this move is that it depicts Christian as humans, not stereotypical haters of everyone not Godly. I wish there were more stories about this where Christians are relatable flawed humans, with compelling stories that just want to share God's unconditional love.
I totally agree. I don't like "Christian Films" for the very reason that they always come across preachy or stereotypical. Struggling and doubt is all part of the journey.
exactly. i always find myself struggling when i try to come up with movies or shows depicting christians in a positive or even neutral light. it's almost always some kind of negative stereotype.
theres a good movie called 'Where the Heart Is" that literally has a character depicting the good, flawed but loving Christian and a couple characters depicting the fake self-righteous "Christians" ( what Jesus called "wolves in sheep's clothing" )...plus its a good movie, all around...but I love that it shows both sides.
"I love Jesus, he killed my girlfriend but I love him" is now gonna be stuck in my head, thanks so much Rizzo.
It was honestly stuck in my head at work all day Saturday lolol
I couldn’t remember my own lyrics tho lol
C'mon, Rizzo, you composed the song 😂
I was obsessed with this movie when I was younger. Always good for a cry. And damn if Landon didn’t set the bar for GREAT first dates, man. (I low-key still want that tattoo, ngl)
Yeah, it's a good thing I wasn't old enough to get a tattoo at the time, or I'd for sure have a butterfly tattooed on my shoulder blade right now.
There was a time in high school when I watched this movie for a month straight every night so I could cry myself to sleep. I will never not cry at the end of this film haha
I’m honestly mad I didn’t cry! Maybe because her death was off screen??? I think I was expecting more of a struggle towards the end (which I guess happened in the book more). Either way, still an awesome movie -Rizzo
The Pink Popcast omg you guys replied!! BRB gonna cry tears of joy 🥰😂
Anyways, love your commentaries and your friendship 💕
And if you need new suggestions please watch Never Have I ever, it’s the cheesy TV I love to hate but secretly love
The book for this was epic, I remember crying for the whole last half of the book while reading it. Also this was Mandy Moore's first staring role - she had previously only been in supporting roles. It was also when she first dyed her hair brown and left her blonde hair behind her (which seems like a small thing, but she's basically been a brunette ever since this movie and it was a big deal to her at the time.)
Words can’t express how much this movie raised me.
I forgot how many feelings I had for this movie as a preteen. The 'looking for your brain' joke truly was a gateway drug for me being a bitchy teen and I thank God for it 😂
She was a SAVAGE and we love it!
@@PinkPopcast I will also say Rizzo's faces had me throughout this - his wet-eyed reaction to the sweetness was honestly lovely 😄
This movie is so corny but dang does it get me in my feels everytime ;~; I used to just feel it because it was sad but when I was in High School I actually had this experience. My boyfriend of a year died from osteosarcoma. I knew from the beginning that he had cancer but I fell for him regardless, the depiction of Landon laying in bed with her in the hospital hits too close to home for me ;~; It's been 8 or 9 years since then, I've made my peace with it but I do still think of him time to time and his mom still reaches out to me every now and then to check on me. Anyways, this movie is so beautiful despite some cheesy bits.
That's alot for someone yalls age! But I'm glad you both got to experience love during a difficult time! So much respect. And yes, so cheesy but so sincere. it's hard not to like this movie!
The walk to remember had a dual meaning. Her walking down the aisle and their journey together though it was a short time.
"The walk" is the one she did down the aisle! We thought for sure Rizzo would have cried when it dawned on him LOL
He definitely would have
This movie was so traumatic for me at 15. I was 4 months off chemo, and had no idea what it was about going into the theater…Poor planning on my part. 🤣🤣🤣I now over-investigate every movie before I watch it.
Tha fact that that I just finished this book today and this video showed up in my feed is icing on the cake. 👌❤❤
Also the "walk" in the book is about her walking down the aisle:
"With all the strength she had left, Jamie stood shakily as her father supported her. Then Jamie and Hegbert slowly made their way down the aisle...It was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make.
In every way, a walk to remember. "
I cried so much today, thanks for the laughs. 💕
Rule Number One: NEVER drink water while watching 'The Pink Popcast'
Should have learned that by now 😈
In the book Jamie was in a wheelchair on their wedding day. But half way down the aisle “ She got up and started walking down the aisle, it was a walk to remember”
🥺 y'all's faces when she was in two places at once!!!
OOF, My heart!!!
nobody:
y’all: where is THE WALK ? we were SCAMMED
Okay but Cry by Mandy Moore is high key, one of the best theme songs in any movie, ever. We stan. It's right up there with Miracles Happen from The Princess Diaries and This Is What Dream (Are Made Of) from the Lizzie McGuire movie.
Lol the walk to remember was her walking down the aisle. But she was in a wheelchair at the time because she was so sick. So when she walked it was supposed to be profound.
“She’s obviously not walking anymore I’m not sure where the title comes from!” And then the old Greg references I am dying! 🤣 I never thought I could laugh so hard at this movie.
I DIED when I heard that part, I revisit it when I want a guaranteed laugh. Btw, it's at 30:45
In the book, they definitely did a lot of walking and Landon said that it's always his favorite part of the day.
Fun fact: Last weekend I ended up going to the city that some of these scenes were filmed in. I happened to find out where the graveyard scene was filmed and I was walking through it to find the spot that they filmed in and I looked and one of the stones had the name "Moore" on it. I looked at it and felt horrible about the Irony. That was indeed A Walk To Remember 💀
My dudes, the walk down the aisle was the “Walk to Remember” lol
If you haven’t reacted to Saved! yet, it’s a must after this one.
“I AM FULL OF GOD’S LOVE”
@@MelaniePoparad “THIS IS NOT A WEAPON, YOU IDIOT!”
“Hittin’ the board for the lord”
OMG YES! I love that movie! Would love to see someone react to it!
OMG YES! Never seen a reactor do this movie and it’s the best lol
The walk was her walking down the Aisle. It's explained better in the Novel.
I remember me and my dad saw this movie and it was the one movie I remember he cried in. A movie to remember!
Beautiful 🥲
Shane West is such a damn babe! Also the inserted clip of Anna faris singing the iconic song "forgiveness" sent me into another dimension 😂😂😂😂. Just friend is sooo underrated. Loved this reaction guys 💜
i AM gay, i have AIDS, and im NEW in town.... PLZ this KILLED me
“It’s ok, she’s obviously not walking anymore so I don’t know where the title comes from” when i tell you i almost died laughing 😂😂
You guys would love Crazy Rich Asians ❤️
ONLY HOPE IS SUCH A GOOD FAWKING SONG OMG
Mandy Moore: *breathes*
Rizzo: BABY
sOcUte 🥰🥰🥰
I used to think *the* walk was based from the book, where Jamie and Landon got to know each other more by walking home from school (I think the book was set in the 50's-60's, not in the early 2000's like the movie)
And Not Another Teen Movie parodies She's All That, among other cheesy teen flicks
I love this film but you guys reacting to it just makes it even better 🤣
Yay!
I love how he brought up the walk SO many times but the actual walk he said nothing for 🤣🤣🤣.

I woke up and realized that it is Saturday, I go to RUclips to set a reminder to the new reaction and I am surprised that there is not only a new video but there is a new logo. Excellent service, guys!
I love all the high school musical references 🥰
This is the first video I watched of you guys and I FREAKING LOVE YOU. Like for real, you made me laugh in a way I didn't even know I could. Your friendship is amazing and you're like my last two braincells trying to figure out a movie lol. I really look forward to watching more on your channel.
Love from a new Muslim subscriber ❤️❤️❤️
I just liked the movie because Switchfoot. I stanned that christian rock band like you would not believe omg.
1. This whole video was just an A+ all around
2. I always thought *the* walk was her walk down the aisle when they got married
Two places at once catching Rizzo unawares I'm living
This is my fav movie for life Shane west made every girl fall for him after watching the movie❤❤
Rizzo being mad about the walk thingy is hilarious to me
The Toy Story joke had me ROLLING!!! 😂😂😂💀💀💀Had to pause the video for a whole 2 minutes I was laughing so hard!
UGH THIS FILM WILL FOREVER BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE ROMANCE FILMS, NEXT TO ME BEFORE YOU, AND LOVE ROSIE:)🥺💓
I love how all of these movies take place in the North Carolina ... really doing my home state justice lol thanks Nicholas Sparks and One Tree Hill
The library in one tree hill was my high school library. Then when I was in undergrad at UNCW I ran through a scene when they were filming because I was trying to get to class.
Then my sophomore year, Nicholas sparks came to speak. I didn’t want to go, A walk to remember was the only one of his books I like, but my mom and aunt went. I went to a meeting and when I got back to campus, I was behind his Bentley!
@@kaitlynhall2112 lol i wonder what episode u made a cameo in ..... have u ever.watched the series to find urself ? Hopefully they didn't cut it out
@@alexis-marie_9920 if anything they probably reshot it! I just remember they were blocking the chancellors walk, I only had 15 minutes between classes (normally was no problem) and was cursing the entire cast and crew. I saw an opening and ran! I never went looking specifically for me, but I did point out my school library when girls in my freshman dorm were watching old episodes!
The editing with other movies I love (this being one of my all time favorites) is perfection😂 probably my favorite reaction from you two
Thanks!! 😁
I remember the first time I watched this, I went in completely blind (I was also 13 and I grew up nonreligious and didn’t get the Christian subtext which I realize is full text after watching this video) but cried my eyes at the end also felt blindsided by the leukemia reveal. I tried to read the book but have never been good at paying attention to book or was a fast reader and gave up after chapter 3. It’s still a cute movie to me. It’s a rarity to find a wholesome well shot teen movie that’s not Disney
I’m ten mins in and I feel like Rizzo is trying really hard not to enjoy this, but it isn’t working. 😂 just GIVE IN
I love this movie, it's so pure.
I always loved this one! I definitely thought the “walk” was figurative too 😭😭 but I’m reading the comments and realizing they just didn’t add that to this adaptation. But this video was great!! Haven’t watched in a little while, glad I got to see this one ☺️☺️💕💕
I am waking up my neighbors with my hollering!! 😂😂
Y’all I woke up my baby laughing at Jamie’s face placed in the Toy Story scene.
I’ve been with you gentlemen since Bridgerton and dang it, I’m with you til the end of the line. And definitely watch The Fault in Our Stars. And then watch this obscure little gem called Strictly Ballroom.
You all have to watch SAVED which also has Mandy Moore.
A walk to remember is not a movie I would expect to get the " new in town" John Mulaney quote but here we are 😂
I DIED! SO FREAKING GOOD.
Benji wasn’t expecting that either 😂😂😂
@@PinkPopcast guess he needs to learn some street smarts form Mr.JJ Bitten-binder
The guy who plays Dean the jerk is actually such a sweetheart in real life! He lives a little over an hour from me here in Alabama.
Aww that's so cool. you always hear it's the nice ones that make the best jerks on screen (aka Rachel McAddams)
@@PinkPopcast His name is Clayne Crawford. What’s funny is Damon Wayans actually tried to get him run out of Hollywood saying he was a jerk and cussed out extras, harassed crew etc because he (Damon) was hoping the show would get canceled after a few episodes instead the first two seasons were a hit and Damon who thought he’d at least be the bigger name on the project would be the favorite. Instead Clayne was fan favorite on this show called “Lethal Weapon” and even though things blew up, the crew, guest stars & regular stars pretty much sided with Clayne so they fired him. After he was fired, Damon kept on till the show was finally canceled after he refused to show up on a 4th season. That’s after they brought on someone on the 3rd season to play a “Clayne type” character and it not working. No shade to that actor (Sean William Scott) cause he’s awesome, but Damon had soured the whole production. What sucks is I always loved Damon Wayans and it just really kinda bummed me out he’d go that far and throw Clayne under the bus just because he didn’t want to continue the show. I’m just glad the crew & others actors stood up for Clayne even though the studio decided to back the bigger star of Damon.
That hallway scene is seared into the folds of my brain ...."there's something about you.."
I can't wait for this!!!!!!!!! Such a good movie, great book too.
I have never seen this movie and even I know the Walk is the one down the aisle. Love you guys!!!
The walk was the walk from the wedding, that's what I thought.
Man, am I ready to cry!
So much fun! Thanks for the reaction guys!
Next Christian Mandy Moore movie….. SAVED!
Great movie!
This is my go to cry movie. Every time I brave myself to watch it I always know my heart is gonna hurt. It’s so heart wrenchingly beautiful, but it always reinforces my faith in love and I hope to love and be loved like that one day ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Literally one of my favorite movies 😭😭 Iconic movie, Iconic soundtrack (literally every song is 🔥) and Iconic actors #QueenMandy👑
I like how the ads I got for this video were Pure Flix movies, and Pure Flix is like Christian Netflix haha. Also, petition for you to do Not Another Teen Movie because I know yall would find that hilarious!
THANK YOU!!! This and Pride and Prejudice are my fave romance movies!
It was her walking down the aisle that he would never forget.
Okay but I wasn’t allowed to watch hardly ANYTHING as a kid. Like my parents were skeptical of Blue’s Clues because it was a single man living alone talking to kids and would fast forward during the part in Lady and the Tramp where the dogs touched noses and “kissed” but I was allowed to watch this at age 8 because it was “Christian!?” Just because he gets saved at the end made the rest of it okay.
That said it was one of my favorite movies, but maybe because it was the only real movie I was allowed to watch.
(Also. Parents don’t be like this. It turns your kids really off Christianity later in life and isn’t going to “shelter” them from anything, only turn them into expert liars who will sneak and do everything you don’t want them to at an even earlier age)
Thank god they protected you from the FILTH that is BLUE’S CLUES!!!
🤣🤣🤣
Yesss so excited for this! It definitely was one of my favorite movies 🥰
OMGGGG this is one of my all time favourite movies! I ugly cry every time I watch it 😭😭😭😭

I know I watched this movie back when I was a kid (and still a christian) but I don't remember much. The older cousins were watching Sixth Sense but my parents though I was too young for it lol
This movie really floored me....
