I’m so thrilled that people are coming here after seeing “Clouds” and learning more about him! Was so devastated when he passed away. I encourage everyone to learn more about childhood cancer and osteosarcoma, it is not as rare as people think. 1 in every 285 kids will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday, and only 4% of all money in the national cancer institute goes to childhood cancers. Osteosarcoma hasn’t had a new drug treatment in over 30 years. We need to do better!

It’s really not fair for people like Zach who are so full of life and have everything to live for to die so young when there are people like myself who’ve been miserable their whole life who just keep existing for no reason. RIP, Zach.
@@blairariavanderkamp3405 You are worthy of life and you are worthy of happiness even if you don’t always feel like it. I hope you’re doing okay, life can be so hard.
+UndeadNeko302 Everyone handles grief or hard to handle topics/themes/stories in different ways. Plus there's always the emotional detachment alot of people have when something isnt happening right in front of them. Its not really fair to call someone cruel or that their heart was black, humans are social creatures we form our ideals and morals largely based on the area we live and grow up in. Besides directing hate or bitterness towards more hate or bitterness dosent help. Keep a positive outlook no matter what and try and help others reach a positive outlook themselves.
Sad but true. I remember our history teacher back in high school showed real film of the piles of human bodies of WWII concentration camp victims being moved around and buried in mass graves. There were close ups of their lifeless bodies, etc., and so many kids in class were laughing at it. If this is the sort of cold hearted, dark, selfish, callousness inside of so many people, then it makes me sad for this world's future. I like to be kind, but to be honest, I've grown tired of so many others' coldness over my 41 years on this earth.
I don't think that's a fair assumption, I find it extremely touching but you wouldn't know it on the surface just because I tend to just act more introverted in situations like that.
How does a 17yr old have such depth of character? It's absolutely amazing to see. RIP Zach. You made the most of the life you were given and touched in a profound way, the people that were put in your life.
How could you dislike this video? I'm a 15 year old guy and I sobbed throughout the whole thing. No one wants to think about death because it's so scary, but he lived it every day and was happier than I ever am. Him and his family are incredibly strong. I read the fault in our stars and this little film reminded me of it. But this is real life and the only reason the book was so good was because it was an unrealistic outcome for a situation like that. But he was the real thing. My worst fear is being told how much longer I have to live. Because I am 100% positive that my assumed life expectancy would tear me to shreds and would live out the rest of my time absolutely miserable. I need a hug after seeing this, it's so inspiring but so unfair. R.I.P
+Benjamin I have my own views. I liked the thing, it was a touching story. But there is one small problem. People die like this every day. Hundreds, maybe thousands. And even if they went through as much grief as Zach's family, it seems almost insulting to glorify one person's death while not caring about another. If we all are to die, why do so few get chosen to have their lives told in this way? What makes one's death more important than someone else's? You can argue it was his musical talent. But if he had not had that cancer, if he lived his life out like a normal human being, and died at peace in his 90s, would "clouds" have been the monstrous hit it was? Maybe. But the song's success was built on guilt. If you didn't like the song, you didn't approve of a dying teenager's final thoughts on life. People would say you were a soulless monster. Its not that his death is tragic, its that many people go through this suffering without 14 million RUclips views. If you had a relative die from cancer, does it seem far that their life went without the media's notice and Zach did? I say yes, it is reasonable to cry at this. It is normal to feel sad. But do not glorify his death, as hundreds suffer the same way as we speak.
Sam Katz I understand where you're coming from and agree that his death shouldn't be anymore glorified than anyone elses. But I don't think I glorified him passing more than I would anyone else's death. If there was a video for every single person that died, I'm sure I'd feel moved for all of them, and I don't know where you got the idea that I don't care about the other people that died because of course I do, I know it might appear that way because I didn't mention anyone else, but this video wasn't about them and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. And why is it so bad to have millions of people standing by him and sending loads of support to his family to help them get through this process. I know that this is only one person and we should acknowledge that this happens all the time and we don't support them because we can't support everyone but if there's an opportunity to share this type of thing to people I think that's great. And my grandmother passed away from cancer about three years ago and I didn't care that she didn't get tons media attention because she knew that we cared and we knew that we cared and we didn't need millions of people supporting us to show that.
In grade 2 I was diagnosed with cancer in February. In grade 4 I was free of cancer. It is the worst thing in world. I was diagnosed with leukemia. Most children do not survive. I am so grate full to have survived. God bless anyone who lost their life and God bless there families, and everyone else going through that right now
I will never forget his story. I was in Minnesota when he passed, and my son passed shortly after. It never gets better. I love his music and I hope your family is doing well .
As I sit in my own cancer battle, with no hope of a cure and struggling through treatments to try to prolong life. Watching this was so touching. Zach is an inspiration to so many in my shoes. His family and friends are so amazing and I am so proud of them for sticking by Zach and helping his dreams come true.
+unowen7591 Why would you wish death upon someone? You're clearly far worse than the people who disliked a single video for reasons you obviously haven't thought out.
+Marcelino Soliz Some of them might have clicked it by a fault which could happen when 14 million people have watched the video. And the rest of them mught be people thinking its fake since stupid people exist
hopefully he knew christ as his saviour, then he would have eternal life in heaven, jesus says i am the truth , the way and the life- -------jesus went to the cross to die for our sins, receive his gift of eternal life and call on him. he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us. imagine that, an afterlife in gods presence worshipping the one who loved us so much that he gave his son to die on the cross to forgive our sins. im all over that----then there are no need for tears cuz you know where your going!! we are not immortal, we are finite beings and will pass away physically. our souls can be in heaven for eternity...we are saved by faith in God not by works or how nice we were or what we did during our tenure on this ball of mud. This story is so beautiful. He's a true soldier. By god, there needs to be more people like him in this world. He appreciated life more than anyone i could ever know.

Hard to watch this documentary without crying. Zach was so wise beyond his years, the plus in his short life was being surrounded by family and friends that truly loved and supported him. The song that came to mind while watching this documentary is Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying. RIP Zach.

The same car from the movie when his dad surprised him in the driveway and he took his girlfriend out Amy for a drive after he went out with his dad for donuts the movie is incredible I'm going to watch it again and I don't care if I cry it's an incredible movie and I love it I love learning about Zach's cancer and who he was even though I've never personally met him
It’s really not fair for people like Zach who are so full of life and have everything to live for to die so young when there are people like myself who’ve been miserable their whole life who just keep existing for no reason. RIP, Zach.
You my friend have purpose.. It may not seen like it.. You hang in there you have a good soul...
Kevin.. I wish I could give you a huge hug! Your words here show how much love you have inside your beautiful soul. People love you Kevin.
you exist for a reason
I absolutely agree Kevin. I feel the exact same way about myself...

You are worthy of life and you are worthy of happiness even if you don’t always feel like it. I hope you’re doing okay, life can be so hard.

Hadn't hear clouds since I was 8, and I heard nothing tonight, and started disliking the video with many accounts.
Zach was used by God for something greater than himself

Amen he was!🥺❤️
Amen and amen. ❤️

God knew you were tired, and a cure was not to be. So he whispered in your ear ,it's time to come with me. Rip Zach.

"This stuff's not happening because you're dying. It's really because of the way you're living."
That really touched me.
My Biology teacher showed us this and it shocked me how so many students didn't feel anything at all, like their heart was black from the start...
Also many teens have been desensitised to violence because of media. :(
I don't think that's a fair assumption, I find it extremely touching but you wouldn't know it on the surface just because I tend to just act more introverted in situations like that.
omg my teacher showed us this, almost everyone cried, I almost did but I held it back lol
Justin Baldoni is making a movie about Zach's life and it's called Clouds!! I am so excited for it! Zach seemed like such an amazing guy!!
any updates on the movie?
It’s coming out on Disney+ next month :)
Alyssa Sitman the trailer came out today
Ya.. i almost crying just by watch the trailer
Hey it just came out today on Disney +
it's 2020 and it's still sad to rewatch this. Rest in peace Zach
"I want to be remembered as the kid who went down fighting. And didn't lose."
Mission accomplished, sir.
How does a 17yr old have such depth of character? It's absolutely amazing to see. RIP Zach. You made the most of the life you were given and touched in a profound way, the people that were put in your life.
Memory Malunga the perfect example of Gods Grace
R.I.P
What a good soul I wish there were more of him on this earth. Soo sad he had to travel on so soon.
+Der Zurechtweiser your profile pic goes perfectly with your comment 😆 XD
+Der Zurechtweiser but that's not how anyone is taking it.
+Benjamin
I have my own views.
God bless anyone who lost their life and God bless there families, and everyone else going through that right now
That gamer girl I'm glad that you survived and pulled through. May god bless you with good health for the rest of your life!
My mom had aml and in nine days it will be her fourth year of being cancer freee
Hope you are still cancer free
❤❤
So glad you survived 🙏 RIP ZACH 🙏
I will never forget his story. I was in Minnesota when he passed, and my son passed shortly after. It never gets better. I love his music and I hope your family is doing well .
You and yours are in my Eternal prayer basket. Courage!
“May the soul’s of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace.” Amen.
I'm sorry for your son's passing 😢😔
Just 17 days before he died. Zach, I'm so sorry. Keep smiling.
Just 17 days before he died. Zach, F*ck you B*tch
@@funnybones7771 why would you say that?
As I sit in my own cancer battle, with no hope of a cure and struggling through treatments to try to prolong life. Watching this was so touching. Zach is an inspiration to so many in my shoes. His family and friends are so amazing and I am so proud of them for sticking by Zach and helping his dreams come true.

How could anyone dislike this. Ever. How. How can you watch this young's life and say thumbs down. Ever.
Those people deserve cancer. Honestly
+yuu I feel sorry for you. When your heart is empty, your soul is empty. And when your soul is empty, your life is empty, and always will be...
hopefully he knew christ as his saviour, then he would have eternal life in heaven, jesus says i am the truth , the way and the life- -------jesus went to the cross to die for our sins, receive his gift of eternal life and call on him. he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us. imagine that, an afterlife in gods presence worshipping the one who loved us so much that he gave his son to die on the cross to forgive our sins. im all over that----then there are no need for tears cuz you know where your going!! we are not immortal, we are finite beings and will pass away physically. our souls can be in heaven for eternity...we are saved by faith in God not by works or how nice we were or what we did during our tenure on this ball of mud.

I’m in college right now studying to be a cancer researcher. Whenever it gets hard I come back and watch this video to remind myself why I need to keep pushing. Thank you Zach and thank you Soul Pancake
Good luck in college! Thank you for everything you're working to do
I know there are a lot of ‘dislikes’ but I want to believe that they mean they dislike the cancer, dislike this situation, etc.
Beautiful life!
Your son has helped me through more than you will ever know. I am severe bipolar and when i was going through a manic faze for over three months i watched his videos every night to help me through my suicidal thoughts. i feel as though he saved my life because of his positive attitude throughout his whole experience, I just want to say i grew to not only love your son but your entire family. i feel as though he saved my life when i had thoughts of suicide. being severe bipolar is normal to take your life, your son seriousluy saved my life.I have no words to explain how much i love him,
i know wut u mean. i hope u find a way to enjoy this life
Aweee :( ❤️ I hope you’re doing well.
Hang in there my friend. Life is hard sometimes. I know I don’t know you personally, but just remember, you are an amazing person. Hope all is well and I’m sending you my prayers.

I have never cried this much..
Its not the movie its his innocent face what made me feel so sad ..he had lived long enough we could ever live in our lives..
If only we had more "Zachs" in this world…clouds would be happy clouds
I love that everyone's just learning about Zach's story and his spirit is living on. I watched this when it came out in 2013 and it impacted me so much. I can't watch this without crying.
So painful
Endless made me cry like this also...such an emotional movie
I can't hold my emotions in whenever I watch this
Disney+ brought me here and I can’t stop crying omg it’s not fair such a beautiful soul from now on I’m going to live my life to the fullest thanks Zach for opening my eyes
Tomorrow will be 5 years after he passed on. People still watch this and take his advice, to keep going and live your life to the fullest.
I live in Minnesota and me and zach (before I moved) were neighbors and he was the most cheery person I knew R.I.P Zach
Poolie Bohmbach Thank you for sharing this!
I think we just need to talk about how beautiful the movie came out. It was such a good representation of his life and who he was
I'll be sing his song at the Mall of America with about 6,000 other people on Dec. 11 R.I.P Zach!
the only reason anybody could dislike this video, is if they were left in a puddle of tears, and they'd cried so much it hurt their whole entire body.
But even then, i pressed Like.
This story is so beautiful. He's a true soldier. By god, there needs to be more people like him in this world.
He appreciated life more than anyone i could ever know.
I would have been honored to be his friend. People like this only come by so often.. R.I.P Zach Sobiech
The fact that he was smiling the whole time he inspires me so much
To Mrs. Sobiech, you spoke at my church yesterday about not only Zach's story, but the grace of god and how in situations that are hard to handle, keep going and have gratitude for every opportunity you have gotten from god. I love this story and Zach has taught me so much about how life is amazing because life is what you make it. I thank you, and I thank Zach. You are forever in my heart and god bless you.

I watched Clouds yesterday.
Now I’m back to rewatch this.
I've just watched this 2023! And all I can think is an Earth Angel came here for a short time to fulfill a specific purpose then went back home. Struggling with lethargy & depression Zach has inspired me to live now & not wait for a perfect time - there's no perfect time but now.
7 years ago, one of the best videos on RUclips came out
R.I.P. Zack Sobiech we miss you
I’m here after the clouds movie I’ve never cried that hard during a movie before my heart breaks for his family, his girlfriend, and best friend
Damn, the way they cast the movie was outstanding. Every character looks exactly like they do in real life. Whoa how awesome.
If I could trade my life for yours, Zach, by the god I don't believe in, I would. I'm so sorry for you, your family, your friends, everyone you ever touched, they deserve you here. Rest in peace, Zach. Rest in peace.
I am so heartbroken over this. He did not deserve this. Everybody loves you Zack. Rest In Peace, Zack.
After seeing this video I was a bit disappointed of myself me being negative and sad towards a little thing and a small incident I now got a new goal to do "Grow up and be like this dude"
After seeing this video, I am glad that I am being negative.
You can tell him and grace had that special sibling relationship...the scene in the movie literally broke me to tears
I wish he would've lived, to see what he started
OMG I'm literally crying this is so sad
“Til death do us part, and I’m dyin’ so we better get on this” 😂 What a special kid.
I feel like I want to move in with the Sobiech family. They seem exceptionally close knit and happy.
Every couple of months, whenever I feel down and just dejected for not having achieved much in life, I come here and I cry. Watching Zach's story instantly gives me hope. He's a ray of positivity and he shows you that you can make the most out of your life even if your days are limited. It makes me so happy to see the impact he made on everyone's life. I hope he's happy wherever he is. Thank you Zach for inspiring me ❤💕
The song “clouds” that he wrote I am singing for my choir... my fellow choir members and I thought it was going to be a song about happiness and rainbows and smiles... then we actually sang in and heard about who wrote it.. I’m so sorry 😥 but... the song is amazing!!❤️❤️
When he cried at the end I couldn’t hold the tears back any longer. I hope he enjoys the view up there.❤️
I've never cried so hard at a video
I watch this every couple of years and have since it came out.
It keeps me grounded and helps me to keep knowing life is so damn fragile!
Zach was such a beautiful soul, and his story is incredible!!!!!
How can you dislike this I swear people can be heartless for no reason this guy showed a courage that I hope I can have when that time comes RIP Zach
Some people don't understand the difficulties in the tragedy that people have to suffer and endure whoever dislike this video is probably not sick with a sickness like osteosarcoma but they should not be selfish towards such an unselfish person like Zackbut get to know him through this documentary and the movie even if they've never met him before instead of being horrible insensitive people
Who would give this a thumbs down? This inspired and moved me so much, I'm so thankful that someone like Zach was brought into this world.
Tyler Green why would you say that
Tyler Green honestly if you have nothing good to say, don't say it (pretty sure we learned this in pre-k but maybe you missed that lesson) did making this make you feel better? because if so, you're sick. please, if you're looking to get attention, do it somewhere else.

Yo if u think u funny u ain't take this from a 12 year old. Cuz I wish it were u who was diagnosed
Tyler Green i hope you get cancer
i just watched the disney movie and it was so accurate 😭😭
I love how even when he’s dying, he keeps a smile on his face and a great attitude. I wish I could’ve known/met him.
Hard to watch this documentary without crying. Zach was so wise beyond his years, the plus in his short life was being surrounded by family and friends that truly loved and supported him. The song that came to mind while watching this documentary is Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying. RIP Zach.
This still makes be sad
Rest In Peace Zack

When he started talking about his sister Grace I started balling my eyes out. That was the sweetest thing I have ever saw.
omg the part at the end when saying his good byes to his family friends , and amy , was so heart braking omg zach made me cry so much omg zach the world would be so much better place if there was lot more people like you , touched my heart and i never forget you god bless you zach
Ce jeune homme est un modèle à suivre, tout le monde devrait le prendre pour exemple. C'est une vraie leçon de vie. Bravo Zach. Repose en paix, tu ne seras jamais oublié.
Rest with God , Dear Zach !! You passed on my birthday six years ago, and I just found Your story on RUclips!! I will be 68 on May 20, 2019... I will think of You and You can pray for me from Heaven !! Peace for You, and for Your Family , the Love Never dies !!!
I feel specifically sad for Sammy cuz she fell in love with her bestfriend but also saw him fall in love with another girl. Yet she still decided to stay and support them.
That was a story for the movie, according to Sammy they were good friends, no romantic thoughts.
