Agreed. Thanks for watching. 👍
Nice work as usual. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. 👍
Very nice work mister. A fly cutter is so handy
I love the finishes they give. Thanks for watching. 👍
That is going to be a very useful fly cutter. Thanks for sharing the video.
I hope so. Thanks for watching. 👍
Great job using those tiny cutters! Alnother tool in the arsenal of tooling.
It was a little nerve racking. Thanks for watching. 👍
Buongiorno; ben ritrovato e sempre complimenti. Antonello
Grazie per aver guardato 👍
Grazie a te per questi belli video
Gday Paul, I’m glad it was you tapping that thread😂, I’ve been toying with the idea of building a large fly cutter (around 200mm), see what happens mate, great build, cheers
I hate those little taps, they snap like carrots. I tried making a large fly cutter when I first built the mill, but it was way too unbalanced to be of any use. Thanks for watching. 👍
I need a smaller fly cutter. I do have a couple of small engineers fly cutters but they only use a specific cutter that I for life of me cannot find. So I want to make my own. Thanks for sharing your process.
Get in and have a crack at it. Thanks for watching. 👍
Nice job buddy
I like it. Thanks for watching. 👍
I made similar cutters, also 40mm diameter. They work very well.
The finish is a bit less as with a big fly cutter because the cutting angles of the tool changes the smaller the diameter. If that makes sense.
You might be onto something there. Thanks for watching. 👍
Nice job mate. Sorry I haven't been back watching your channel for a while mate. Been busy with things I don't like doing
We all have stuff we don't like doing. usually crap the wife wants done. 🤪 Thanks for watching. 👍
Comment for the algorithm 👍👍
Thanks for watching. 👍
Hi I have the same fly cutter and the finish is a 100% when I cut Aluminium must test some more from Brian w.germany
I haven't tried this on Aluminium yet. Thanks for watching. 👍
Try using the GT type inserts for aluminium finishing. They produce a superb finish....use a squirt of WD40 or paraffin for lube.
@@howardosborne8647 I've tried using the aluminium tips but I get a better finish with a .4 rad tip.
Those bloody collet blocks are really annoying with the body section being much smaller dimensionally than the nut.
It is well worth making a square and a hex block from scratch with bigger body dimensions and twice a s much length on the body section.
With a longer body they have far less tendency to fall out of the vise when the jaws are loosened.
Unfortunately, I can't cut threads on my little homemade lathe, so I'm stuck with buying things like that. Thanks for watching. 👍
