- On a mission to get fresh walleye for G-Man's Great Grandpa's 90th birthday, we took to a local river and had a blast catching multiple species of fish and strong fighters. Also as you can tell from the thumbnail...we got some nice walleyes and a bonus pike in the kayaks. A great evening of fishing, we hope you enjoy as much as we did!

My favorite way to fish, in a kayak on a river. Great video and tell your dad hi from me.
Thanks! Hope all is well!
Awesome!
Thanks!
You found some clear water for the MN river!
Headwater streams are definitely better, but it helps when they’re hardly flowing 😂
Also, not the actual Minnesota River!
@@g-mansfishingadventures I need to start looking for small streams hooking into the MN with depth. I fish the MN from St. Peter to Franklin on my flat bottom most weekends and I’ve yet to get into a solid walleye bite during the summer months the river makes you work for it.
@@turtsable Cottonwood River is good from New Ulm to Lamberton if you can find depth. Redwood River was really good this winter in Redwood Lake after the dredge project. Blue Earth River near Rapidan Dam, Le Sueur River around St. Clair are some that I know of. The flat bottom probably won’t make it to most of them, though.
@@turtsable used to fish the jetties in Mankato by the dog park. If water level is around 8-10 foot on the gage that can be really good. Once the water gets pushed all the way towards NSP, it’s not as good
Any Smallmoth bass in there?
Not this far up the river. Usually just walleye and northerns
@@g-mansfishingadventures cool. Mostly after smallies but walleye can be fun too.
@@hurrikanehavok7313 the Cottonwood River from New Ulm to Springfield area can be good. Not sure how close you are to that.
