    I don't think Ferguson come up with the phrase. Dunphy quotes him as if he was an intellectual.

    He's also fallen out with some of our more talented players and left out such players in favour of players that can't play well technically. For example, Wes Hoolahan is 30 years old, he's been wasted by Trapattoni for years when he's now proven himself to be our most creative player. Instead he favours poor lower league footballers like Paul Green who can barely play football.

    We should give Owen Coyle a shot.At least he'll believe in the players and have them playing good football.

    Trap should have left after Euro 2012 as much for his own sake. For a manager of his reputation, he should have seen what was coming and left after almost getting the squad to two finals in two attempts. What has happened since has been a serious deterioration, when the style of play was so unattractive as to be almost unwatchable during his reign. Once the results went against him, there was no compensation at all for him or the fans.

    With all respect. 4 commentators aged about 70 talking about a coach aged 75 and discussing how Irish football needs to be changed . Paradoxic.

    "We have to say stop". Is that a wise man. You can say "stop" so often as you want, it will change nothing. Even new persons will not change enough. You need to develop plans, strategies and fantasies. And you need this elements in the youth or better childhood of the players which are determined to get real good. Exact this do the Germans.

    Oh yes that would really work.
    All of a sudden Irish players would be like Spanish players able to pass the ball. We would be even better than other passing teams like the Dutch, Germans and French.

    Has to go asap.Is way to set in his ways.Ireland have good young players,Coleman,McLean,McCarthy etc but he doesn't play them.Plays the players who helped us qualify for the euros but in reality the players I listed are better then those who play.

  • @crazymaner2003
    @crazymaner2003 11 лет назад +2

    Even mediocre players can pass the ball more than three times before hoofing the ball long. He's turned decent players into players paralaysed with fear and incapable of making even the most basic decisions with any conviction.

  • @DerekBallesty

    Cant afford to pay him off and there is no one else. He has to stay no matter how many people call for his head. We all knew Germany would beat 7 shades out of us anyway. Stephen Ireland and Ciaran Clark wouldnt have made any difference.

    maybe its just a communication problem.
    you should stop calling everyone 'james'.
    otherwise th players won't know who's meant.

    Trapattoni is a far greater manager than anyone else Ireland could give the job to. You should appreciate the fact he is willing to be your manager, not the other way around. He's done a brilliant job with mediocre players.

    I think the Northern team which is (Antrim, North Down and Part of Co Derry) should just give up at football altogether.

  • @pocketpitbull

    He won't be sacked until Ireland drop points in a match they aren't expected to drop points in. He could have gone had you not fluked a win in Kazakhstan. If the Faroes, who have got results against poor british sides before, get something tomorrow then he might get the chop.
    One thing is for sure though, the only way is down under Trap unless drastic changes are made.

      Yeah but he didn't and undermined our style of play. Our performance in Europe was paltry as well. A few positives but nothing to get carried away with

      John Kelly
      Irish football is in decline and nobody wants to recognize this. Ireland has no real league football of merit and it relies on English league football.
      The only problem with that is that English football is also in decline.

    • @johnkelly3549
      @johnkelly3549 9 лет назад +2

      bighands69 I agree as well, although I feel that these things happen in waves. It's been 12 years since the excellent team we sent to the 2002 World Cup, and I feel like it'll be another 12 before that happens again.
      I think English football is fine though. It's commercializing and the unavoidable financial inflation has kicked off (especially with my own Man Utd, sadly) but it thrives from the conference leagues all the way to the top.
