Everyone always makes out the latter is the better because he’s one the gold cup but at the end of the day you could say there about evenly matched in terms of how good they are at their best. Galopin just obviously more consistent

Bonkers talk about Ballyburn and the Champion Hurdle. Why be apologetic about running the horse in the Gallaghers? He was the most impressive winner of the meeting. Had he been confined to the intermediate trip he would be unbeaten. If only he just ran horses in races that suit their needs, and not other horses. That would cut out so much of the perceived dithering on the approach to the Festival. Ballyburn should be go chasing, beginning over the intermediate trip. He should be trained as a potential Gold Cup winner. No messing about over two miles.
