I'm glad to see more people still playing it, one of my favorites RTS, and i still play too!
Yeah it still holds up really good! AotR mod can be a bit rough performance-wise but as far as nostalgia goes it is absolutely worth every second 😃

EA didn't renew their license, which is closely guarded by the Tolkien estate.

I feel like this mod is a bit of a blend between BFME 1 and BFME 2 which is exactly what I was looking for. I like the additions in BFME 2, but I found it too fast paced sometimes, where it boiled down to a lot of micromanagement and just constant unit spamming - it didn't leave much room for making more strategical decisions as in BFME 1. I'll give this mod a try.

Must be honest, I was puzzled when seeing you were devoting such a huge amount of resources to the wall building. I’d rather build up an army and only in a second moment a wall, if necessary. I must say, though, that playing defensive such as you did made it all the more enjoyable!
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! I'm a bit of a turtle when it comes to RTS-games in general but the AI in the AotR mod is pretty ruthless so I've found that building a strong defense helps a great deal even if the resoutce cost is heavy.
@@viperactual6036 Same. it actually adds a whole new element to the game when you are defending a walled camp from 8 brutal ai's
@@thatkiwi8378 Sure does! Unfortunately AotR crashes instantly against anything more than 2 AI as they tend to conjure up massive blobs of infantry lol

I have tried Edain Mod and didn't like it. Maybe this AOTR might be good for me :)
I strongly recommend AotR though I have no experience with Edain and thus I can't really compare the two

Where can we download the game? I tried several times, but it wont run
theres some file fix on moddb that fixes all the files that corrupt the game when you start it up. If you, like i had, run into the problem where the game shows the splash art then it freezes, its because the game u installed is missing an ini file. Theres totally a fix for it and now I had been able to play the game for the past week.
