@@OdysseyOffroad I've got a 2023. I heard 2024 was really lacking in the bottom end torque and was very MX focused. I'm very curious about the 2025 how it compares?
I’m going to my local KTM dealer this weekend to pick up either a 2025 450sxf or the 2025 300sx. I’m very experienced, I don’t race. A lot of wide hard packed wide open trails, sand from time to time. Will go to the track occasionally
I race Harescrambles in NY state. I went from a YZ125X 2 stroke to a 2024 YZ250FX. I love the FX. I ride much better on the FX. Everything about the bike works better for me.
@@dirtbiketv1 Thats the truth, trying to have a guy decide between a 250 and a 450fx would be a great comp video. I love my 450xcf in wide open, I hate my life on the tight trails though. But I am unaware if the 250 would be way better or only marginally better in the tight stuff.
Yo man.. Good job... Was wondering if you could do a video for a subscriber across the pond 😊😊.. Just removing as many plastics for a decent wash, alao where and in particular what oil or paste etc to use after it's been dried off. I've been told not to use wd40 on for example the swing arm join or any other join where there is a bearing behind that joint. I wash, dry and wd40 the whole bike. Religiously and never have a problem, but apparently it's coming haha. Awesome 🎉🎉
I have a 2021 fx250 it's great in hare scrambles here in TX and it rips on the moto x track also - 2021 has that great low end punch which I love - I put a rekluse clutch on mine for the tight scrambles - tubeless tire system and a fmf 4.1 it rips and handling is great - run the keefer free feeling map mostly it work great on trail & track
Acerbis tank 10.3 litre easy install no problem just increases width across frame and causes low fuel light to come on early with stock fuel pump assembly.
Jay, when you were riding the bike in the back country of the track and praising it, had you change any of the springs for your weight? If not, what do you weigh for evaluation?
@@constantelevation_yes, the EXC is street legal and detuned. Even with a FMF and ECU, I wasn’t getting the snap I wanted off the bottom, it made all its power way high in the revs.
The problem with these west coast off-road reviews are that they are ONLY relevant to people riding in dessert type terrain. Most (90%) of the rest of the country rides off-road with trees and mountains (real mountains with vegetation) and the conditions are so different with logs, sand, trees, mud, rocks and bar banging tight trails where your bars barely fit. After all these years, I finally figured out why the west coast is dominated by moto, there are no trees or forest to actually ride TRUE off road. In order to be relevant to 90% of the rest of the country, please travel to actual riding areas with trees and vegetation and then tell us how the bikes perform in those conditions (east coast preferably).
We did some on our instagram but we put about 75 hours on the bike before giving it back to Honda. It was an incredible bike. We hope to test the 2025 model!
Rode/Raced IT 465's, IT 250's, and YZ465's plus big Husqvarnas......they are a state of mind. Most Honda guys don't like 'em. Ya gotta get used to the "leggy" nature of the bike. Wish they had a better was on this bike not to have air intake under the seat.
You sort of said it quickly but the fx already has a larger fuel tank then the f i can ride for 5 hrs or more and have never had the low fuel light come on I also have a headlight and fan (oem add on) with a stock stator and no issues
@ thanks for the reply! Is there anyway you could expound on that a bit? What are some things/characteristics that are better on the FX? Anything the ktm does better? I understand if you can’t.
Just wondering were the places you were riding at glen Helen open just for the race? Or can you just ride there normally or do you need special permission? I love to ride there and only ride the trails for the races never rode those sand washes looks fun
Sounds like Yamaha might be dropping the WR line. They would replace that line with a 350FX and 300 2T. They didn’t bring in Kailub Russel and Cody Webb to not do that. The “Boomers” will be upset but you gotta feed the masses. The WR’s just don’t sell.
I have the 22 model, I’m at 84hrs and it stills runs like new :) I ride 80% track and 20% trail and very happy with the bike. Personally, I think the FX model is more reliable "mechanically" than the F model.. but that’s just my opinion.
If you don't drill out the stock airbox then its not terrible and unless you are doing wide open racing or riding then you dont need to worry about ear plugs
Keep that 18 ktm, the new bikes have a ton of electrical problems and are stuffed full of low end parts. If you're going to switch to four stroke, go yamaha and keep the 2 stroke.
Bought a 24 250fx last year absolutely love it.
Great to hear!
Ya that's a great bike.
Bought the 25 WR250f for the channel and It has been a great bike !

Thanks for another great video! So much good information! This bike looks awesome
Absolutely love my 2024 YZ250FX! 63 hours of great trail riding so far on it 👌🏼
That’s awesome!
Just got the '25 about a month ago and love it. Much more fun to ride than my previous KTM 350xcf
Why do you say that, would love your thoughts.
Very cool!
I hope Kawasaki coming out with a 2 stroke will encourage Yamaha to make a 300 2t with a electric start
That would be awesome.
Awesome insight here! Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching
@@dirtbiketv1Rado’s new bike ? 🤔

Maybe one day ;)

About that truck track - can you do tricks and make it a trick-truck-track? 😂
😂😂🧐
Love my 2020 yz 250 fx bike is super tunable and absolutely rails on Dunlop mx 34’s
Good to hear!
Just got a 2022 yz250fx and its great
Nice!
Love my 24’ 250fx!
Nice! Thats great.
Please do a video of this bike vs a 450. Good points here in this video 👍
If we can get a 450 FX to test we will do a video

was 350 stock detuned from factory?

How does this compare to the ktm 250xcf?
We haven't done a back to back but we really like the FX.

Gray area... But unless you are being stupid and messing crap up back there no one cares.
@ Alr thx im always respectful no matter where i ride
Dangit.Love to have the FX but i need to plate it so maybe the WR.Is the WR compliant with Ca OHV emmision rules?
Technically no I don't believe they are.
Can you de-tune the 450 to make it more like a 350?
Possible but nothing will ever change the mapping enough which would negatively affect the way if runs and get it closer to a 350.
Does the WR stator fit in the FX?
I see where you’re going with this…🤣
I understand it does for the 450FX. Yamaha should of just given these bikes a lighting coil.
I’ve heard you just swap the wr flywheel to get the extra power output
You'll need the wr flywheel and stator to run lights
@ it’s a confirmed fit?
damn I want one I have a yz 250fx 2024 😔
I've got a 2023 and never experienced any excessive noise from the airbox. I don't understand what everyone is talking about.
Me neither...
Yamaha will go hydro clutch when #tomacet3 retires. So hopefully a few more years.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.
