INXS is one of the milestones of the 80's. RIP Michael Hutchence
And for a different take on Hutchence look up Max Q - Way Of The World (1989)
RIP Michael
Songs like this will last forever
I remember seeing them in the early 80s when their first album came out, and they opened up for the Go Gos unbelievable they stole the show. Rip Michael Hutchence thanks for unbelievable talent you left us too soon 🙏
He definitely died a happy guy!
This is the softer side of INXS. I only have two things to say about them: “What You Need” and “Need You Tonight”. Trust me!
New Sensation pretty good, too
Guns in the sky
Devil lnside is also great.
Anything from INXS will not disappoint!
Need You Tonight/Mediate official video. For goodness sake, so NOT leave off Mediate!!
If Lex watches the “Need You Tonight” video she will melt at him.
oh yes!
🤡 🤯
Really?
I'll give you this and watch the girls melt.
"All veils and misty
Streets of blue
Almond looks
That chill divine"
Oh My Lordy, she sure will - he reeks of sex doesn't he?
This would be a great rabbit hole to go down guys!!!! This band is just a unique no nonsense KICK ass band. RIP Michael
Kick being the appropriate word, i see what you did there - nice one centurion like it like it
The entire album “KICK” is a masterpiece, that catapulted them into stardom!
yes
It was a really great album
Superstardom, hottest band on the planet for a few years.🤘🏼
Loved it and still love it. One of a few great albums for them.
I think Lex would've 'appreciated' seeing the lead singer 😎
I would have appreciated seeing him…..again. 💜
🤣😍🤣😍🤣 I wanna see THAT.
Yes, all day yes. INXS was so good. Late 80s early 90d. This was my Senior Prom theme. RIP Michael Hutchens
"If I hurt you, I'd make wine from your tears" is probably one of my favorite lines in a song... ever
Actually sounds yuk..salty wine..no thanks..lol 🍷🤢
@@gunlean7738 I guess it'd depend on what the tears were fermented in and how long they're allowed to age... though I do also suspect that the lyric isn't meant to be taken literally, but more metaphorically; like how far he would go to make amends for the pain he'd caused.
Sadly; Michael's final act in life, means he is unable to do that now in any other way than through the music he contributed to.
@@stephencrisdale9693Whoa! That's deep brother. What type of food would be this wine be best served with do you think? Seafood, Fish perhaps due to the saltiness, acidity of the wine? 🤔
@@gunlean7738 Definitely not anything foul... Whoops!! I mean fowl based. Perhaps something bland so that the 'seasoning' quality of the saltiness can help bring out the flavours; kind of like how some partners can 'bring out' the better qualities of their "other half".
Sentimental enough to make one remember everything that led up to a meal of blandness redeemed by salty tear wine and appreciate it without getting overly 'blubbery' while consuming it!!!
Have a good - though not too salty a, one!! 👍👍
INXS singles to consider: What You Need, Listen Like Thieves, Need You Tonight, New Sensation, Mystify, Suicide Blonde, Disappear, Heaven Sent, Taste It, Not Enough Time.
...in this order.
@@richmiddlebrook3103 I’d have also suggested Don’t Change and The One Thing but don’t want to take away from the tubes that made them big.
Devil Inside is also a good song.
Not Enough Time is my favorite song of theirs! ❤️
@@owlcu they have to be careful of copyright issues. That’s why they often watch lyric screens instead of actual videos.
INXS were one of biggest bands in the world in the 80’s. They’re Australian and they also rock out. My favourite INXS song is “The loved one”.
That’s a cover. Great version of it though
Hell yeah, I love that and their b side Move On
INXS the KiCK album 1987 -88 one of the biggest albums of the decade.. 👍🏼
Don't let Lex see Michael Hutchence in "New Sensation", arguably their biggest hit, he's too good looking and too much charisma. One of my favorites is "Don't Change".
LOL!!! That is HILARIOUS Cause it's True! BTW even as a Man I admit he was a very Handsome fellow!!!
@@rccarothers Funny, yeah. I am a straight heterosexual man and can confidently admit it.
My fav too!
@@bogatz1 yeah, there are just some dudes out there that make anybody with eyes go "damn that is a handsome man"
New sensation at wembley, pre-smart phones, everyone in the moment was brilliant.
As a fellow Aussie I hold INXS in the highest regard. R.I.P Michael. We miss you everyday ❤️
If Michael Hutchence hadn't died, INXS could have easily gone on to be one of the top 10 bands of all time. They were really that good. Just look at their incredible body of work in the short time they were around. You guys have to do a deep dive into their music, I promise you won't regret it.
Wouldnt that have been awesome, imagine the concerts, one of those big headliner tours, INXS and AC/DC maybe... that would actually have been worth what you pay for tickets..lol
If they had been of the internet age.... Guaranteed, it's a wrap.
Short time? INXS were around for 20 years. The band started in 1977 and they have an extensive discography. They were introduced to the US music scene on MTV with "The One Thing" and "To Look at You".
@@jazshas no one really knew them before 84, but since he didn't die until 97, I revise that it was short. It did seem short at the time. I just wish we could have heard more.
Saddest thing I’ve heard (could be a complete falsify), but Quentin Tarantino was in talks with Hutch to play Bill in “Kill Bill”. Would’ve been so damned good
My wife walked down the aisle at our wedding to this! got some looks, but it wasn't for them, it was for us!
Absolutely adore this song. One of those earworms for me. DUN DUN DUN DUN
Michael was a sensational singer. INXS were an Australian band who started getting big here in Australia in the early 80's and broke internationally in around 1987. It's been so long since I heard this song - really good vibes.
I saw INXS live in NY. They were amazing live. Soo good. Ziggy Marley. opened for them. What a great concept
the album "Kick" is worthy of no less than an full album review!!!
id throw X in there too.
@@Lord-E-Lordy I was about to say the same.
and it should be the 1/2 speed master record I could not help buying.
@@Lord-E-Lordy extremely well produced
I just listen to and enjoy all of INXS so can’t be impartial but from the Swing (1984) to Welcome to Wherever You Are (1992) are all albums that are full of hits with Shabooh Shoobah coming close
But I just listen to every INXS album top to bottom anyway however Kick (1987) starts my decline in happiness with everything after X (1990) really taking me down as it gets closer to Michael’s untimely death
Full Moon, Dirty Hearts (1993) and Elegantly Wasted (1997) really just drain me given they were recorded after his head injury which changed him
INXS was fucking AMAZING in concert!
Massively under appreciated band. They have some amazing songs
The late great Michael Hutchens had the greatest voice of the era.. He is sorely missed. With his vocals INXS in my opinion was the greatest band of the era
This band live was AMAZING!!! Michael Hutchence stalking the stage like a sultry leopard...every song a banger...a band that never missed a note...and oh man the girls!!! :) Nothing put a female in a loving mood better than a live INXS gig, thank you Michael from all the brothers! RIP X
"Was that rock?" Well, yes. This is 80s Aussie rock. INXS are kinda a genre unto themselves. The album this song is off of was released in 87. INXS were huge. They were known as one of the best live acts in the world during the late 80s-early 90s. Please, please please, check these guys out live. What You Need, or Suicide Blonde or Original Sin, live from Wembley Stadium in 91 will give you a glimpse into who they were at the height of their popularity. Amazing, talented, tight and fun.
I disagree. It was New Wave.
Definitely check out Need You Tonight/Mediate (both together) and Devil Inside. Very good pop/rock from the 80's.
Suicide Blonde
Absolutely! Those two are absolutely MUST listens. They define INXS.
Yessssss
"I Need You Tonight" is their most famous song - almost impossible not to get up and dance when you hear it - they were one of the truly talented bands from the mid to late 80's - they were HUGE. The whole album "Kick" is almost certainly one of the top 100 albums of the decade if not higher. The lead singer was a icon for women and he passed in a sad and unusual - to say he least - manner - but they were awesome back in 1986-87 one of the real bands back in an odd but great decade of music. This song just grows on you more and more and gets stuck in your head all day.
What a treat you were just given. Imagine hearing Michael’s voice for the first time again.
INXS is definitely worth getting into. Had a bunch of great songs. RIP Michael Hutchence, a great vocalist.
80's! Love INXS! This is one of my go to karaoke songs. I'll make wine from your tears. Seriously some of the best lyrics.
80's were the era of rock saxophone. Love it.
Michael Hutchence had such an amazing voice! This celebrity death hit me hard when it happened. This band has some of the most iconic and beautiful songs ever. RIP Michael
INXS is a great group. They have several great tunes: Devil Inside, New Sensation, Need You Tonight, Mediate just as a few.
I saw these guys live in 1985 and they blew me away. I’ve been a lifelong INXS fan and this is only one of so many amazing songs by this band. Keep searching their back catalog and you’ll find some real gems.
RIP Michael! amazing band! " Devil inside" "Suicide Blonde" "New Sensation"
INXS is one of my favorite bands! The INXS Rabbit Hole is deep and endlessly satisfying. That is to say, they ALWAYS give quality and top-notch musicianship! Great...in fact, LEGENDARY band! They are not just a "New Wave" band. They were a great Rock/Dance band from Australia. Please listen to their earlier classics like "The One Thing", "Don't Change" and "Original Sin". Then you can get more into their huge Fame-years with songs like "New Sensation", "Devil Inside" and "Suicide Blonde". It's a tragedy what happened to their lead singer, the incomparable Michael Hutchence, RIP. He was an absolutely amazing vocalist and song writer, in my opinion.
I enjoy both of you very much but Lex:’s enthusiasm is incredibly charming and infectious. Just wanted to send some positivity your way, B&L. 🌺
Brad's quest for meaning contrasts with Lex feeling the feels... Makes for a fun team to watch.
One of the great bands of the 80s. And Michael Hutchence... what a voice. I put him up there with Bono and Cornell as fast as vocalists go. Check out the entire 'Kick' album. R.I.P. Michael. You are solely missed. ***Great reaction to the sax solo. A missing component of today's music that we 80s kids took for granted.***
30 years ago today September 24th, 1991 the following albums were
released:
Nevermind - Nirvana
Bood/Sugar/Sex/Magik - Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Low End Theory - A Tribe Called Quest
Trompe le Monde - The Pixies
Ceremony - The Cult
Screamadelica - Primal Scream
one of the best love songs ever written right here!
INXS was one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen, and they are among the nicest guys in rock and roll I have ever had the pleasure to meet (not that I've met a lot; but I have met a few of them). I won backstage passes and took a girlfriend for her birthday present. She was a huge INXS fan, and everyone in the band treated her like she was the entire reason they had come to town to play the concert. This is one of the few ballads or slow songs that they have in their catalog. They have a lot of great pop-rock songs that you can enjoy as you continue your journey. Keep up the great work!
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing your story!
Dude, brad has a GIF on Facebook?!?!?? I typed in “facts” and one of his face popped up with the caption “spittin facts!”
You’ve made it, my guy.
I saw that!
INXS was THE band of the 80s. Mostly upbeat songs but this one was very, very popular. Michael Hutchence was considered one of the best front men ever, and he wrote all the lyrics, a real poet. Mystify, New Sensation, Bitter Tears...all great, but really all their songs are fantastic
Pretty sure Lex has got a gift for music. Her analyses are from the top of her head but always spot on
Facts !
Exactly. Her comment "Is this rock?" mirrors the problem the band had at that time. Their US record label didn't know whether INXS were a rock, pop or an R&B band. Turns out they were all of them.
I noticed the same exact thing
Man INXS was huge for several years. Lots of pretty solid tunes, amazing front man RIP and solid musicians all around.
I grew up on INXS... lucky to met MIchael on 3 occasions.. he was friends with buddies of mine... saw him play in a pub two times as INXS before they were mega... he was an unusually charismatic, quite chilled Aussie... they were great and a big part of 80's/90's Australia.. RIP Hutch.
One Thing, Need You Tonight, Disappear, and What You Need are great songs from INXS. They are from Australia and were one of the biggest bands in the world. The lead singer unfortunately took his own life at 36. He is considered one of the greatest front mans of all time. He is like a younger version of Mick Jagger but with a better voice.
I always found him him more in the vibe of Morrison, sultry sort of awkward sexuality the he then unfortunately fully embraced it... Moment of pride was when my dad went out with a barmaid that worked at a pub they played at in 83... They were that good and I enjoyed them so much lol
INXS has so many great songs, I love The Stairs and Don't change and Suicide Blonde and Disappear...so good
INXS is a great band, they were a amazing live band and lead singer Micheal Hutchence was a phenomenal frontman, he was sexy, he had incredible charisma for days, he just had the audience in the palm of his hands! Gotta go down the INXS rabbit hole I recommend watching them live do some of the concert from Wembley Stadium, New Sensation, What You Need, Need You Tonight and Suicide Blonde! Omg, you guys would make my day to react to those songs from Wembley! Micheal Hutchence died of a suicide but he will always be missed and loved he had the x-factor in spades ♠️ and the band as a whole were incredible musicians period, please do these live performances and you’ll see what I mean! RIP to the legend that is Micheal Hutchence🙌
WHAT YOU NEED, was a huge influence on me musically in the 80s growing up and is still one of my all time favorite songs/videos. Hope you get a chance to listen to that one and see the video. Keep smiling 🤘 🙂
Everyone will say to listen to INXS's "Need you Tonight" or "What you Need"... but I'll suggest you listen to the song "Kick".
Inxs - Need you tonight. Dont change. Or Mystify Are must listens!
More inxs please, honestly every track on the album Kick is 10/10, it's one of those rare magical gems.
I remember going when the record store opened and buying this album on cassette the day it came out! This song is over 35 years old and still stands the test of time. RIP Michael Hutchence.
My favourite INXS song. I could listen to it all day. Michael’s voice 🥰
Oh. Micheal WE LOVE YOU! Thank you for all you gave to us.
INXS has a lot of bangers. A lot. Devil Inside, New Sensation, The One Thing, Need You Tonight, Suicide Blonde, and it goes on and on Oh and Lex needs to see the videos with Michael Hutchence. lol
Devil Inside is probably my favorite INXS song.
@@pleutron Mine too. Followed by Dancing on the Jedi
I think it's so awesome how you guys are open to any music. It's the reason I'll keep coming back to this channel
Check out their song Don’t Change.
RIP, Michael.
Amen!
A great early song for Inxs also ,'on a bus'....
Oz rock classic!
INXS's album Kick was one of the first vinyl records I bought with my own money back in '86. They got alot of MTV rotation with I Need You Tonite/Meditate (The two songs were intended to be played together). Never Tear Us Apart was the song on the album that was different.
Inxs are an incredible band you are going to love this band.
LOVE this song! I grew up in the 80s so I had all the cool music. =)
i count myself lucky to have seen them live and this song was outstanding R.I.P. Michael Respect & Peace
one of my favs is INXS - Original Sin
I love this song, it could easily have come from my musical home Motown in 1965. Bloody brilliant.
One of the first tapes I owned as a kid, still love every song.
its great to see people from your generation reacting to music from my era. This is indeed the 80's and I grew up as a teen with this group and many others. All my young years and my experiences came from groups like this and my memories are deeply intertwined with this music. You have no idea what these songs and groups mean to me and how they trigger memories that I cherish to this day. keep up the good work - I think you guys need to experience the music of my era as it was just incredible time to be alive and the music reflected that.
WOW.....brought me back to high school!! That whole album was great!!
I'll make wine from your tears ... Brilliant line !
A true iconic group from the 80's! Devil Inside, Suicide Blonde need to check out. Michael Hutchence was front man for 20 yrs. A sad day in history when he passed.
More INXS ! The One Thing, Suicide Blonde, Bitter Tears, The Stairs, Disappear
Kick was one of my favorite albums of all the ‘80s. I was in 7th grade when it came out and it instantly became my favorite cassette tape, displacing Pink Floyd’s “Collection of Great Dance Songs” (a greatest hits compilation).
INXS "THIS TIME",, "WHAT YOU NEED"",, "DEVIL INSIDE",, "NEED YOU TONIGHT" & "NEW SENSATION"
INXS - great band. At one time, they were the biggest band in the world. All kinds of good songs. More pls. :)
So glad you guys found this band! You have to react to the song Don't Change by INXS, my favorite by them. But seriously, the had so many hits back in the late 80s... and they were all good!
Another great Aussie pub band, ah the memories.
Big fan of the band. I remember asking my wife for permission to buy 'Kick' as we were just starting out and money was tight. Of course she said yes.
'Dont Change' has been in my top ten songs list since 'like' forever.
INXS formed in 1977 but they are largely known as an 80’s group as that’s when most of their hits happened. Like this one, which came out in 1987.
This is one of their slower songs and while they aren’t ‘hard rock’ they definitely get heavier than this. They have a ton of great tunes if you feel like checking them out further.
THanks for the reaction. You should watch a live performance of this song just for your own entertainment. It's worth watching.
This was a great one from you two. Love that Lex was in it from the beginning. And, slowly but surely, Brad started to sway more and more as the song won him over😉
One of the great things about the eighties is we found the saxophone
I hear many ooohhs and wooohs when Lex likes a song. When she really loves a song, she will give a little finger wag. The sax solo seemed to be what really did it for her. Many more great ones from this band worth reacting to.
"Like a poison pill that tastes good." Nicely put.
Saw INXS for this album's tour, PIL opened, was a great show, much fun had.
This is one of my favorite INXS songs! Thank you for reviewing it! The One Thing and Don't Change are two you really should also explore. Actually you should explore all of their songs. They are THAT GOOD. ;}
One of the biggest bands in the world late 80s. Don't change my favorite.
I love how at the start of nearly every song, Lex always kind of jumps and makes an "ooh" face and then looks over at Brad. And Brad always just gives the screen a quizzical look. They are like total reaction opposites.
This song and Devil Inside are the two best INXS songs for me.
Love this song ... #RIP TO MICHAEL THE LEAD SINGER .. his voice was awesome 😎
I love that surprise look Lex gives at the beginning of the song.
This guys voice was OUTSTANDING. They had some great live performances where they tweaked their songs a little bit but honestly, this and other songs of theirs were STAPLES in the late 80's early 90's. You heard it EVERYWHERE.
R.I.P. Michael Hutchinson, I sent this song to someone last month, and I really liked this band.
That Sax 🎷 is 🔥! Even though I'm a Hard Rock and Heavy Metal dude this song along with some of The Cure tunes got me some Action!
One of the best bands from the 80's - Anything from their album Shabooh Shoobah is highly recommended!
It literally happened that way ‼️
Across a crowded room...we were 40 years old
And I lost my beautiful husband 8 months ago in a horrid car accident
They can never tear us apart
Two worlds collided 😢😥😢
Gods of Australian rock…
What a total shock. UTTER shock to learn of his death. INXS was one of those bands that you either loved or hated. Many of us loved them. Without going into details, his death was something that is still debated among fans. I'm one of those that don't think it was a suicide but I also don't think it was a murder. Rabbit hole as Joshua said. Great band.. WOW. RIP Michael.
This group was massive for their time. If the lead singer was alive, I believe they would still be selling out stadiums.
You all are on a great run! Thank you!
INXS were great -and huge around 19983 onwards - Michael had an incredible voice, magnetic charisma and wild stage presence. Hey if you like Saxophones dropping in - well the Gold Standard by which all other songs must be judged would have to be Gerry Refferty's Baker street - will give you chills!
INXS is a band that needs to be seen. The lead singer was one of the most charismatic front men EVER. Live, he was everything. The way he moved, his voice, he was pure sensuality in a bottle. No other way to describe him. God, I miss that man's presence on this Earth. Just to see what he would have become.
