+Barnacules Nerdgasm omg! you responded!! I love your videos man and I've been watching them for like 2 years at least now. still have my fingers crossed for that puget systems build!! I probably should be studying right now but this is much better than studying ;)
Hey man. Nice video. Couple of things. First, you can change the shape of the build plate in Cura to round and secondly, you can change the support material from grin to lines in print settings to make it easier to break away. That's all. Great job. Keep it up.
Hey Jerry I'm not sure if you realize this but if you go into Machine - and click machine settings in Cura, there is an option to change the build plate to a circle.
Nice job! Here is a primer sanding tip. If you are applying multiple layers of primer between sanding, alternate between 2 primer colors. That way you can clearly see if you start sanding into the layer beneath.
Glad to see you at messing around around with simplify 3d more. The support removal is amazing. I love that you are doing more 3d printing videos also. Cool video.
Great vid! ...For those interested and able, I'd recommend you 'lightly' use a lathe to help smooth out the faceting on the outer surface of the print. ...But you have to be very light with the smoothing process.
+Barnaclules Nerdgasm, 3D printing seems like smart direction for your channel. I would love to see more everyday use applications for the technology, as in household repair or modification to existing products. Keep up the good work sir, and I will keep watching. Thank you.
LOL ... Thinking about the gun that would go with this bullet, I had a flashback to the Uncle Buck Birthday Breakfast scene when he said "You should see the toast, I couldn't even get it through the door".
The timelapse printer builds are really outstanding; was blown away by your choice of music (mesmerizing music during the bottom portion, and the urgent music during the top portion) and I thought to myself, "Wow, Jerry's got some GREAT taste in music and knows what music matches best to a timelapse visual session." I was at video timestamp 7.45 when thinking of this, and right then: Jerry captioned, "Used a lot of new music, hope you guys like it!" Like some Dr. Who-ish future recording interacting live in real time with someone in the past (that would be me), I fell outta my chair when the caption appeared right after I thought about the great music. Like it? No,sir. LOVE it.
Not sure if this is feasible, but would it be possible to print this on a smaller printer? Slice the piece horizontally into shorter sections (meshmixer, etc.), glue them together, sand it a little bit. Maybe you could make a video on that if it works. (Current 3D printer only goes to 136mm on Z )
Absolutely 100%, I could 3d print this on an Ultimaker Mini in segments and glue it together and sand out the lines and paint it. More work but totally doable. I plan to do a video on how to slice and print larger objects on smaller build platform printers.
I do not know much about 3D printing (so correct me if I have no idea what I'm saying), but I do know 3D modeling (B.S in Computer Animation)... Does the polycount matter at all when 3D printing? If it does not, why didn't the artist use a higher subdivision on the cylinder when modeling the casing? Using something crazy like 128 subdivisions or more. That way it would have come out looking much more round/smooth and wouldn't need nearly as much sanding. Him enlarging a low res model didn't help much either... Also, in 3D modeling, you can "smooth edges" to make a low-resolution object look perfectly round/smooth. It is what artists use in video games to get perfectly smooth looking geometry on low-resolution models. Can't that edge smoothing information be transferred into the 3D printing software from the 3D file? If not there needs to be a feature where you can tell the printer what needs to be perfectly round/smooth in the 3D printing software... Just my thoughts.
Hey Jerry, great video! It turns out you can actually make the bed circular in Cura, so you don't have to deal with the wrong interface, which is nice :)
This would be amazing for living history people and re-enactors , they could 3D print all the different rounds for there displays at a fraction of the cost of the actual ones
I'm interested in learning more about delta printers like that. What are your impressions of that setup so far? Also, It would be nice to see a video talking more about simplify3d. I'm still sitting on the fence trying to decide if it's worth the price.
I am glad the original Opera browser team has got back together to work on a new browser (Vivaldi). I was using Opera for years until it turned into a chrome clone and was forced to go to Firefox (not outright complaining).
Nice video as usual. Was thinking, couldn't you have scaled up the model in Maya or Blender? After which you can smooth the model so you get a perfect circle. Blender is free btw (not affiliated)
Do you think you could do another one, but this time have a "stamp" on the casing (either at the bottom or along the side) with a manufacturer and calibre like a real round/shell?
Music overshadows your voice!!! U took a .50 cal and turned into a howitzer shell :P (the US army would love your services if you could step it up a notch or two with the brass filament)
hey barnacles, you should look into getting a polyprinter 229 or the double length model the 508! I actually own this printer and from experience I can say that This printer is EXTREMELY FAST yet the print quality is amazing! If you decide to get one id be happy to show you how the sclicing software (kisslicer) and the printer control software (printerface) are used!
To rotate the bullet in Simplify 3D go to edit and place surface on bed. It will put the triangle you selected on the model to the build platform so you can get the exact surface you want flush on the bed.
Awesome ! :) You should totally leave it outside your door, secure it in some way and booby trap it with one of those "record and playback" boards from Ebay. Then record a message saying "Hey! This is what hit the last guy, who was trying to run away with my shit!"
I would love to have a 3d printer like this. My uncle has one and he uses it for all kinds of stuff like whenever he needs something he just prints the piece out of his 3d printer and I would love to use my imagination with this thing.
So i did the math and is a 44.45 mm round. Next time you should print it with that copper/plastic stuff and at 600% size increase that way it will be a 76.2 mm round and feel like metal a little bit.
Now that I'm thinking about it having 3D printed dummy rounds could be convenient to take to gun shows to make sure you're buying a firearm that can properly chamber a round (assuming you want one that can chamber a round) or if you'd have to do some work to it.
if you printed it with the bullet seperate and hollow. You could print the casing with a hole down the middle. then attach a noozzle on the bottom of the casing insert a can of o2 in the bullet assemble and you have a hybrid rocket.
I had used Vivaldi for about a month and I really like a lot of it's features. However, if you're using a lot of tabs, Vivaldi will get EXTREMELY slow compared to Chrome. There were also a few features of Chrome that Vivaldi just doesn't have, such as synchronisation. So I switched back to Chrome.
But how does one cut corners on a round object?? 13:33

Comic-Sans 3D printer
Apply a subsurf modifier?
Fucking cringe.
I just watched a video of a guy 3d printing a large sniper round for 17 minutes.
And i enjoyed all of it.
Glad you liked it! :)
Hey man. Nice video. Couple of things. First, you can change the shape of the build plate in Cura to round and secondly, you can change the support material from grin to lines in print settings to make it easier to break away. That's all. Great job. Keep it up.

+Lachlan Hooper thank you! I didn't see this.
Mrs. Barnacules is going to love this sniper rifle round...
Oh god 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice job! Here is a primer sanding tip. If you are applying multiple layers of primer between sanding, alternate between 2 primer colors. That way you can clearly see if you start sanding into the layer beneath.
Almost 20 minutes of Jerry AND 3D printing ?! WITH NEW MUSIC !? Man oh man oh man man oh man man oh man man oh man man oh man .
we are getting spoiled rotten =D
Yep !
VIVALDI!!! You're using my favorite browser! I love you even more, man!
this is the closest we get to 3d printing a sex toy on this channel :)
Glad to see you at messing around around with simplify 3d more. The support removal is amazing. I love that you are doing more 3d printing videos also. Cool video.
Check the Q&A in the video description for common answers to questions including why the projectile is silver...
hi jerry do more jerry rigged
3D print the Saturn 5 rocket
How much fun did you have with that bullet
I remember Rob from that comicon video
3:54 what about your kickstarter Robo3D beta version...
Great vid! ...For those interested and able, I'd recommend you 'lightly' use a lathe to help smooth out the faceting on the outer surface of the print. ...But you have to be very light with the smoothing process.
Immediately after watching this video, 7494 woman and 17 men purchased a 3d printer.
+MGTOW FTW I laughed.
could you print a better intro?
He probably could, sadly he can't print a better personality for you.
the intro is beautiful
+Goliath rekt
SRG Yeah, though I can't fathom why 15 cancerous assholes would upvote his comment, my faith in humanity takes a nosedive every day.
+Goliath
Such dissapointed in Humanity.
... much Wow

15:40 When you get cut off but try to play it off.
noticed that too
The timelapse printer builds are really outstanding; was blown away by your choice of music (mesmerizing music during the bottom portion, and the urgent music during the top portion) and I thought to myself, "Wow, Jerry's got some GREAT taste in music and knows what music matches best to a timelapse visual session." You've gt more 3D Printers than 3D Printing videos!
8Bit.Jay cause he's got the money.

That is a 1.75 cal. round
You're right lol
i would guess 50 mm
no, it would be said as 175 cal. it would be 1.75 inches.
+Top Doge 1.75 caliber. Original size being .50 cal
175 inches would be Anti Bunker ammo
Hey, that wallpaper you have on your desktop is amazing! Where can I find this picture?
I know something you could build on this printer! It's long, pink, and for your wife ;)
a dress?
A dildo lol
AlmightyL1z4RD XD
Rolling pin?
Print in ninjaflex material. Its kind of rubbery-silicon ;)

darthtigger looks like he keeps children in his garage
Nooooooo not meeeeee /whistle
"Square Space, BUILD IT BEAUTIFUL."
Good video Jerry! :D
3D print a .50 caliber at 3.5 scale to fit the bullet in!
Yes
YES!! I 4😂
( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º)
you could enhance it by adding some wear/rust if you're going for a battle scared sort of thing (great vid btw:))
Lol.. Is a .50 still a .50 when it's scaled up 350%?
Barnacules, I just noticed that we have the same keyboard and mouse! Keep up the good work, I love your vids.
The background music while you're talking on PC is really weird, please don't do it again.
Hey Jerry, great video! It turns out you can actually make the bed circular in Cura, so you don't have to deal with the wrong interface, which is nice :)
Im just imagining how its like going through TSA with that..
+fyo900 challenge accepted! I'll take it to world maker Faire ;)
+Barnacules Nerdgasm u KNOW where to hide it 😉
This is an epic print. And the paint looks amazing.
Now I'm starting to wonder why you wanted the projectile hollow...
This would be amazing for living history people and re-enactors , they could 3D print all the different rounds for there displays at a fraction of the cost of the actual ones
Shit if i had a 3d printer i would be making dildos and bongs
Wouldn't the bong just melt
+extrememining no
That's so awesome! Better than a plaster cast.
hello it would be cool if you 3d printed a computer mouse
I'm interested in learning more about delta printers like that. What are your impressions of that setup so far? Also, It would be nice to see a video talking more about simplify3d. I'm still sitting on the fence trying to decide if it's worth the price.
You should really have used proper safety equipment when sanding and painting at least by wearing respirators :(
+kean diedrich nah.
+kean diedrich nah.
+Barnacules Nerdgasm I never thought you had a dirty mind!?👉🏼👌🏼😳😂😂
+Mason Forrest I know!!
They're outdoors.
Love the 3D printing videos, main reason i subscribed! Especially more info about finishing 3D prints is always appreciated.
i love this dudes content but the intro is soooooo fucking cringy i'd be embarrassed to share one of his videos with a friend...
That came out really amazing. I really want to see the footage of you ripping of the bullet support material after you talked about it so much :P
30 inch the size of my....
poop
butthole
d i c c
You literally have the best Gaming setup EVER OMG I LOVE YOUR ROOM AND EVERYTHING
for the support in cura you can change to "lines", so you have the same kind of support like the second print
Love that you started to upload more often. Missed it
I am glad the original Opera browser team has got back together to work on a new browser (Vivaldi). I was using Opera for years until it turned into a chrome clone and was forced to go to Firefox (not outright complaining).
For sanding round objects, the easiest and fastest way would be with a lathe or just a drill and let it spin and hold the sandpaper against it.
Nice video as usual. Was thinking, couldn't you have scaled up the model in Maya or Blender? After which you can smooth the model so you get a perfect circle.
Blender is free btw (not affiliated)
Nice, the only thing that could make that build a bit better would be to have the primer and markings on the bottom.
Do you think you could do another one, but this time have a "stamp" on the casing (either at the bottom or along the side) with a manufacturer and calibre like a real round/shell?
You could mount the casing in a woodlathe between centres, and lightly smooth the profile with deft use of a scraper.
Could you have a video about the price of printing and buying a 3D printer. How expensive is it?
Awesome, you guys did a fantastic job on that. It looks fantastic!
have you ever attempted to put something like this on a lathe to get the "round" more "round"? Wondering how it would work out.
I wonder if it would look better with a darker primer and a glossy or mat topcoat.
The bullet looks nice.
Looks like a copper and nickel bullet.
Music overshadows your voice!!!
U took a .50 cal and turned into a howitzer shell :P (the US army would love your services if you could step it up a notch or two with the brass filament)
add a primer mark on the Base. also there's an outer ring that surrounds the primer mark. bar that. BANG ON ;)
Great video again. Thanks for sharing.
Love how the paint came out.
So you made a 57mm cannon round replica, neat. I wish I had a printer to make tank round replicas
Hahaha Barnacules your friends are awesome! 😂
Man. A 500 dollar Delta printer. Thank you @Barnacules Nardgasm!!!! Finally.
Mr. Jerry, where did you get that cool wallpaper? I've been looking for that forever, haha.
hey barnacles, you should look into getting a polyprinter 229 or the double length model the 508!
Great tip!
That would be awesome In the brass filament,it would be really expensive but it would feel much more realistic ☺
Hey, why didn't you make the settings as a circular build plate? It's a circular printer so a square build plate might throw you off a bit. (For cura)
video highlight of the week! ha ha favorite quote this week! "everybody's like, hey you made a Rocket"
Hey Barnacles, if you make another one, you should add a primer pin (on the bottom).
In your defense, I've never seen a round that didn't have any fingerprints on it, but usually they are much larger due to the scale.
Awesome ! :)
You should totally leave it outside your door, secure it in some way and booby trap it with one of those "record and playback" boards from Ebay.
Then record a message saying "Hey! This is what hit the last guy, who was trying to run away with my shit!"
I would love to have a 3d printer like this. My uncle has one and he uses it for all kinds of stuff like whenever he needs something he just prints the piece out of his 3d printer and I would love to use my imagination with this thing.
did you made a video , which tell us what different meterial you can use and where to get them? great video once again.
Liking that new printer. Maybe consider body filler to have a better finish by filling in rather than sanding away. Just an opinion.
Hey Barnacules,
So what is your verdict on the 3-D printer? Pro's? Con"s?
its actually a 76mm We checked
So i did the math and is a 44.45 mm round. Next time you should print it with that copper/plastic stuff and at 600% size increase that way it will be a 76.2 mm round and feel like metal a little bit.
I just spotted my bed leveling design on your printbed. I hope, it was helpful.
Hi, I was wondering why you did not make your print bed round in cura. it helps with printing big items to make sure it fits.
You should try building a Server CPU Tower (SCPUT) with that (A storage device for multiple drives or servers)
Now that I'm thinking about it having 3D printed dummy rounds could be convenient to take to gun shows to make sure you're buying a firearm that can properly chamber a round (assuming you want one that can chamber a round) or if you'd have to do some work to it.
Not a bad idea, but I bet people would still be nervous with you putting a dummy round in a gun at a gun show.
I wouldn't paint it, but you're right of course.
I put this on at work, co-worker says "Is that the guy who talks with the 2J guy?"
Poor Jay, he is now known as "the 2J guy" in my office.
if you printed it with the bullet seperate and hollow. You could print the casing with a hole down the middle. then attach a noozzle on the bottom of the casing insert a can of o2 in the bullet assemble and you have a hybrid rocket.
This would be perfect for printing RC model plane parts, on my machine I have now I have to print the wings in 8 pieces and glue them together
Jerry, PLEASE print the Saturn V rocket as tall at the printer can print. That would be the most amazing thing...
maybe for a future project you could make a rocket model, like the Saturn 5 or the Space Shuttle.
i think that would look pretty dope in the nerd cave
great and fun video Jerry :-D
Scale up and print part of a 50 cal upper that is cross sectioned around the bullet. Would be awesome
"Paint me like one of your french girls" lmao
The thumb nail looked like John Candy. The world is a sadder place without him.
We've got one of these Rostock Max V2's and for some reason we're now having issues with it actually extruding correctly.
This...is intense. Now make the rifle to house this round(Challenge Presented)
3D print a spaceship and pray he can paint it correctly!
every time I see this bullet I think of GTA V in the gun store with the giant bullet in the corner
turned out sweet. you two have sick minds too, which i found funny as hell.
Made my day. Thanks dudes.
I'm more interested in that mandalorian helmet in the background!
Also, DarthTigger reminds me a bit of Bootsy from Board James.
If that's one round then your gone need a bigger gun! Lol
*gona
gonna* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Great video. Looking forward to more 3D printing content! Keep it up!
In low light conditions nickle plated bullets are used, which just so happen to be a very silvery color.
