    This is one of my absolute favorite #3dprinting projects to date. I can't believe how many moving parts this thing has being that it was printed as a single piece. If you agree please let me know in the comments down below and also make suggestions for other things you want to see printed and tested. Thank you again for all the awesome support guys, you spreading the word about my videos and sharing them with your friends and family have helped me grow a lot in the last year and I'm forever grateful. If you guys want to help support the channel please check the video description for lots of links to cool stuff.

      +Barnacules Nerdgasm I wonder how small you could make the jack where it still functions? Maybe as a jack for your Pop Figure? Also, I cringed when I thought the drill was going to fall into the new monitors!

      Very cool how one piece can move. I print stuff on a makerbot replicator 2 which is nice, but I don't think it could manage this...

    Been watching for a while, but I recently got a 3d printer myself and started rewatching the 3d printing videos you've made. It definitely adds a new level of fun now that I can try some of these myself. The platform jack is actually printing on my machine right now. Just thought I would drop a comment and let you know that even now these old videos are inspiring some new makers and I'd love to see some recent projects on your channel, especially with the Ultimaker 3. Keep up the great work!

    Do you think the bronze filament would work? That would be a very steampunk lift!

    • @maxdewaele9660
      @maxdewaele9660 8 лет назад

      I don't think it would, since there are pieces that are fused together(for example the knob), and I don't think it would be very easy to break tgefused bronze.

    • @dpmakestuff
      @dpmakestuff 8 лет назад +3

      Is the bronze filament really that much stronger? Its just bronze dust in plastic. I'd almost argue it should be easier to break than straight plastic

    • @longshot726
      @longshot726 8 лет назад

      +Dustin Penner It is easier to break than regular PLA which would actually be my main argument behind not doing it but I would probably succumb to trying it anyway because of how cool it would be.

    Just got myself a 3d printer im totally in love with it. Ive only had a few prints so far and 2 of them turned out really bad, but after reading the manual and watching videos im slowly getting cleaner prints.
    I love the exploring and failing aspect of it, because its really rewarding when things do turn out the way it should.

      you can make your money back easily. you can print figurines and sell them. If someone made a high quality artorias figurine they'd make thousands.

    • @16xthedetail76
      @16xthedetail76 8 лет назад +3

      HEBLEH MAN I said high quality, not a blob of plastic. And I also didn't say that you'd sell them for a thousand each. I meant high quality figurine as a plural as 3D printers use files for what you're making.

    • @hebleh5771
      @hebleh5771 8 лет назад +1

      C Ziggy You would need like a printer that costs a few hundred thousand dollars to make 1000 dollar worth of products and even then, its not valuable because its plastic, plastic is like so cheap nowadays. You would just be better off using jand tools making wood or wax models.

      I'm just guessing here

    +Barnacules Nerdgasm Dude, I have wanted a 3D printer for soooo long but they're too damn expensive. But this project is a perfect example of how could use a 3D printer for every day things. I particularly love that you mentioned it could be used as a speaker riser/stand bc that's exactly what I would like to print and use this jack for. Excellent video Jerry. Keep the 3D printing stuff in the works bc one of these days I'll actually have a 3D printer and these videos will then have renewed value for me. Big fan of yours dude! Good fucking job!

    This is awesome! I work at Newport Corp, we make lab equipment which is very similar (Newport Lab Jack) but it costs just about 1k. Granted it can hold up 300 pounds its still basically the same thing, crazy cool print

    Seems I keep finding more and more reasons to want a 3D printer really bad! I think this is very neat, both the ratchets and the platform. It shows things you can really do with one of these printers. Its an exciting technology that we are just getting beyond the fancy toy stage and exploring practical uses for them.

    You scaled it up, but what if you scaled it down as small as it can be while still functioning? It would be a fun little toy to mess around with if you're bored :P
