The way cowboys handled those contracts was laughable. Jerry is senile and embarrassing in every interview. Gonna have highest paid QB and highest paid DE still get smashed at home by a better team.
I think you are forgetting the elephant in the room. If the Browns cut Watson, they have to eat around $120M in dead cap, with no cap savings at all. The Browns are floating around at $48.8M under in cap space, and cutting Watson will put them over the cap, meaning they have to shed talent like crazy next year to stay under the cap. So it's a no-win situation either way.
Remember the 25 mil a year days of Tom Brady...crazy where we are now. It doesn't seem like the quarterbacks want to take a discount to help put team players around them it's all about the ego of look I'm the highest paid ever Tom Brady set the standard for how to do it
Yeah the NBA diva behavior has bled into the NFL with this younger generation. I could understand purdy getting a big contract though considering how insanely fucking expensive San Francisco is.
I know Week 1 just concluded, and the season is still long, but the actions of the Browns front office is exactly why everyone and their grandmother makes fun of this team.
I disagree Jerry Jones is actually a very good owner making the cowboys franchise as a whole the most expensive sports franchise in the world. I think he does what an owner is supposed to do and make the team marketable. He's just not a great GM.
No the Browns didn't do any preparation, no starting tackles and the play calling on thier offense was extremely stupid. Cowboys will get owned by the Eagles.
The Cleveland Browns are sure to undergo a 'Scorched Earth' rebuild after the season. Fire HC Kevin Stefanski, fire GM Andrew Berry, trade as many of their star/young players as they can to claim draft capital and, at the very least try, figure out something they can do with the mammoth contract they gave Deshaun Watson in a way that can help give them more cap space for 2025 and beyond.
The browns had basically nothing before Stefanski. His first year with the browns lead to a playoff run, next year wasnt good, after that they had another playoff, before him we had 10 or so years with no playoff anything @jfinitiproductions4115
The Browns did exactly what the preseason prepared them to do. Among other things, that means Watson being a total non-factor, as he was in the preseason games. Also, lots of stupid pre-snap penalties.. I blame the coaches. Dorsey will take the fall for Stefanski, who will keep on calling plays for another year.
Salary cap purgatory coming to the Dallas Cowboys in the future thanks to Dak's massive salary. I can't wait to see Dak trying to carry his team in the future because the Dallas Cowboys won't be able to afford to keep a supporting cast around him. i can't wait to see Dak run for life when he has no oline to protect him in the future because the Dallas Cowboys can't afford one because of his massive salary
As a browns fan, Watson was running for his life.We had backup tackles against a top 5 Dline. Watson played OK, and when he actually made a good throw, our receivers would drop the pass. This game felt very similar to our playoff game, where we were just too injured to compete.
What the fuck are you talking about? That can be disproven by looking at the scores of all the games on Saturday, or do you only get half points after bit?
When you say Jerry Jones is not a good owner (when he made The Cowboys the most valuable franchise in all of sports) I need to know what you mean. He's not a good GM, maybe. But owner?
Im a youngin, but I can’t think of a white QB with 24 SA cases. Closest I can think of is Ben, and plenty of people hated him afterwards. The only difference is Ben was still good at playing QB and didn’t start declining until years after the fact. Watson isn’t and has been terrible since his first game as a Brown. Hell, just him being on the Browns might have something to do with it, too. This kind of situation could only happen to them😂
I think Dallas had a good offseason. Mike Zimmer was the big off-season free agent. They also drafted 2 starting offensive lineman so that's not a bad off-season
@@mattnash8884 thing is their not the Highest they are one of the highest bit I feel they need a balance of paying the qb well and leaving enough for other stars.
Well… I don’t think that’s true but I see what you are saying. Good quarterbacks on rookie, cheap, or even team friendly deals are seem to be usually better than teams with higher paid quarterbacks. Only problem is if you have a top tier QB or if you are like the Giants and your QB is really important to your team, you kind of have to pay a lot.
No playoff success? The Cowsucks were the first and only team to lose to a 7 seed. Not only did they lose, but they absolutely got destroyed. They will always be the first and I doubt any team could ever lose against a 7 seed by more.
Yeah I hate the cowboys but we're definitely gonna see a 7 beat a 1 again. The Packers were hot at end of season and carried it over. Plus they own Dallas and love is better than Dak
How is Baker Mayfield doing? Asking for a friend...
really good apparently 😒 he’s baking in tampa 😅
Jerry Jones is a fool who mortgage his entire franchise on Dak who only won 2 playoff games

Watson and the Browns deserve each other.

They just extended Stefanski. The problem is Watson. Are you a casual?
Several coaches have gotten fired not long after getting an extension because of how the team plays. Stefanski will be no exception to that rule.
The browns had basically nothing before Stefanski. His first year with the browns lead to a playoff run, next year wasnt good, after that they had another playoff, before him we had 10 or so years with no playoff anything @jfinitiproductions4115

240 million for a QBR of 80 against the Browns. Don't make me laugh. Cowboys will be exposed themselves soon enough.
