    I was given alot of Homespun yarn, and not knowing what to do with it. You've just answered, by making this beautiful tutorial. You was my 1st RUclips channel to watch on crocheting, and my go to channel for beautiful patterns, so Thank You Glenda!! For all your hard work creating for all of us.
    Take Care, Blessings Always 💕

    Hi Glenda. This is so pretty. I am very familiar with this pattern but I bought the pattern just to have in case one of my grandkids want to me make it. I ordered the yarn right after you showed it to us in the video with Cody! I think this yarn will be perfect with its texture. I’ve used it before. It’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I can’t wait. I need something to get my crojo back after losing my husband in March. It’s a struggle but this might just be what I need. Thank you.😊

      I'm sorry for your loss. It'll be a year in August that my husband passed. Crocheting for my grandson this past winter helped to keep me sane & in touch with reality. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I truly understand what you're going through. Prayers for you & your family.

      @@jacintavattuone4442 Thank you so much for your kind words. You do know exactly how I feel. We were together 24/7 for the last 22 years as he was injured at work and had to retire. He would drive me everywhere to see clients, etc. I was just getting ready to retire and we had plans. Sadly many others are going through it too. I’ve actually lost 10 people both young and old since 2021 including my dad. My mom passed away 5 years ago this month, the day before my birthday. The stark loneliness is gutting. But it’s kind people like you that make things easier and I am truly blessed by your thoughtfulness. My 4 kids are helpful but they all have their lives to live. You are a kind soul and my prayers are with you too. ❤️🙏🙏❤️

      I am so sorry for your loss. My husband of 45 years passed in Dec 2018. My tremendous grief is why I wanted to learn to crochet to help fill my days. I am disabled with not much mobility so I am home 24/7. I also lost my first child, well my 45 year old son in March of 2023. So I do understand what you are probably going through. I will put you in my prayers and ask for God to comfort you. ❤

    Thank you for sharing. Beautiful blanket and pattern. Cannot use homespun, have tried several times and used the different crochet hooks also, would much rather use Premier Puzzle in the shimmer, think that would turn out just as beautiful.❤❤😊

    This is a beautiful Christmas Afghan . I will definitely purchase your pattern. You are so good in showing step by step. I'm not sure if I can use Homespun Yarn . Tried it a long time ago on a swatch and had trouble . I can definitely do it with a different yarn. I'm in my 80's and learned how to crochet a lot
    from you . 🩷💕🌷🙏

      I have a similar pattern that I made with Caron Simply Soft... it looked GORGEOUS! My daughter loved it! It was black, grey, and white, and I used a random florescent color in the second-to-last row of the black. Then grey and white last. Basically a classy, bright, jumbled rainbow repeated. It was super soft and somewhat shiny too 😊

    How do you keep the chain row and foundation row from curling when you have a large project. And what am I doing wrong when the rows are starting to curve growing into a circle. ?

  • @deb2075

    I'm loving the pattern but this yarn is so hard to work with. It keeps snagging on my hook. I only opened 1 skein of the white so think I will return the rest and try this pattern with a different chunky yarn that isn't so snaggely. Glenda the pattern is perfect and I'm definitely making this it's just the yarn isn't beginner friendly :( Is there another yarn you would recommend?

    I do have a question. I notice when you start your blanket. You pick up one piece of yarn and not 2. I was taught with 2 and not one. Which is correct. I am going to learn some of your stitches. Do I have to out a border around the blankets.

    • @Michelle_Mayo
      @Michelle_Mayo 5 месяцев назад +1

      Some people who stitch tightly (myself included) find it "gives" a little more than with two, which helps prevent the foundation row being tighter than the rest of your project. It also leaves a similar chain as the one you end with. Makes adding a border super simple too!
      I learned to use both from my mother but I always had a puckered foundation. Another lady taught me to use the back bump, but it can look really wonky with a ripple stitch. Plus it's a royal pain to get your hook through if you have tight stitches lol. I think all the crochet creators I watch on YT use just the back loop for their foundation, it's quite common. But in the end, it's up to you.
