X came out on 3/13/2022, the post credit scene had a trailer for its prequel Pearl, which was released on 9/16 of that same year, and that has a trailer for the final film of the trilogy maXXXine which is still in production.
Next year, we're getting this movie called Horizon: An American Saga coming out in June 2024 and its gonna have a sequel that comes out in August 2024. It's gonna be right up as the shortest waits for movie sequels.
He’s not understanding that the release gaps were so short because these sequels were actually shot simultaneously with the same production crew etc. On of the best best examples is actually the short gap between Romancing The Stone and The Jewel In The Nile.
Fear street started off a new trend of doing a whole trilogy together and releasing it in the same year like the strangers trilogy which is coming up in 2024
A lot of these were all filmed at the same time so it makes sense the gaps are small as they were editing the second one when the first one was released
We will apso get a quick turnaround between Rebel Moon movies. Part 1 is coming out in late December, and part 2 is coming out in April a few months later.
Here’s a very shocking one, Disneys spin-off movie to cars, “Planes” released August 9th 2013, then the sequel “Planes fire and rescue” was released July 18 2014. I believe they were planned to be DVD releases but Cars 2 made so much money they slapped them in theaters.
Shout out to the first seven saw films though as all of these already had scripts and where planned out. Whearas saw1-7 all had to have scripts written, sets designed, casted, edetied and all the other stuff it takes to make a movie in a year for seven straight years!
Most of these shouldn't be counted because both films were clearly in production at the same exact time and the only reason the second one came out after was to give movie goers that wait time, that or to finish up a little bit of post production. Because you were right with your statement about Quintin Tarantino, these are not multiple films, these are examples of one film being split in half for the sake of audiences.
The Swedish version of girl with the dragon tattoo had its whole trilogy out in a 9 month period (girl was out in. Feb, fire was sep and nest was November)
To be fair with Back to the Future that definitely makes sense since part 1 and part 2 were originally going to be one movie I heard then they felt it was too long so broken it up
Madoka Magica Part 1: Beginnings was released in Theaters on October 6th 2012, and Madoka Magica Part 2: Eternal was released in theaters on October 13th, 2012, a week later. Though both movies are really just the 2011 TV show re-edited into 2 feature length movies.
Marvel movies kind of count for this but if you count all the marvel movies as one series, that time at the end of 2021 there were like 3 movies in 6 months
Fear street doesnt really count the same because they were made and released at the same time on purpose because it was like a miniseries in the form of movies
I really wish studios would do this more often where they film 2 installments together... Sure certain properties benefit from extended periods between installments but most franchises actually benefit more from quick[er] releases. Obviously, Marvel is (or at least was) the best at this, releasing 3 or 4(+) a year. Big movies like Infinity War & Endgame should be released within 1 year of each other. Unfortunately, DC hasn't done as good. They take sooo fricken long to release not just new DC movies but (especially) sequels as well. There is absolutely NO reason why a specific/headlining character should have to wait years & years to get a new installment, if ever. In reality, most never got one. They (DC) should be releasing 2 to 3 solo/character movies [ie. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Constantine, Swamp Thing etc] and 1 big multi-character/team-up movie (ie. Justice League [Title], JL Dark [Title], Green Lantern Corp [Title], Suicide Squad [Title] etc]. Star Wars is the same, they should have at least 1 movie a year... but really they should have 2 or 3 [character] & 1 bigger picture/team-up sort of thing movie every couple of years. They get scared off by underperformers but the reasons as to why the movie(s) underperform is because they aren't good, marketing failures &/or ill-will because of previous bad movies. So all they have to do focus on making good movies and then they can release as many as they want [within reason].
Part 1 and 2 films should never be more than 12 months apart. You want people to remember the feeling of the first one as they go into the second whilst giving the people enough time to digest the film and theorise about Part 2.
What is your favorite movie on this list?
Probs harry Potter 😂
Kill bill vol 1 and back to the future part 2
Prob Back To The Future 3
Kill Bill 1&2
Infinity War and Deathly Hallows are masterpieces
Gap from Star Wars III to Star Wars IV = -28 years
Lol
Ur math is not mathing 😂
@@ChillestchickenYou just don’t know what he means 😂😂 no sweat
@@maximummac223 yeah no I do, but it would be 28 years
2005 - 1977 = 28
Or am I completely missing something? 😅
@@Chillestchickenyou are right but is -28 because it goes from 2005 to 1977
Definitely deathly hallows, watched that with the family so much.
Yep Fear Street Series was indeed provided very fast
The back to the Future trilogy is one of, if not the, best trilogies of all time.
Rise, Dawn, and War for the Planet of the Apes
LOTR
@@domfamiano absolutely, I agree that’s probably the best, but BTTF is close behind

1. Star wars
2.Lord of the rings
3.Back to the future
4. A fist full of dollars trilogy
5. X-Men trilogy
@@spiderninjagaming1061 Star Wars is a trilogy of trilogies, but yes, I agree. I’d also add the Spider-Man trilogies in there as well
Love how you took your longest sequel wait and did it for shortest wait! Keep up these great and creative shorts
I got the “what if I told you” thing reference right after the Matrix, nice
The Fear street trilogy was awesome
Yeah though the third one was Alr fight fear street part 2 is the best

Godzilla Raids Again came out on April 24th, 1955, 173 days after the original Godzilla film, which came out on November 3rd, 1954.
Cool
Yay I was thinking about that🎉
Just learned this last night lol
@@vp_wrld yea he post the comments first,Toho made the sequel so quick it just like few month.glad you learn it.
X and Pearl have a gap of somewhere near 157 days (march to September)
182 days
King kong (1933) had a sequel come out the very same year, son of kong (1933)
Godzilla 1954 and Godzilla Raids Again had a 6 month gap
Man I love the fear street Trilogy, but Back to the Future was honestly so awesome with how they did it
No one talking about X and Pearl still baffles me
Shit movies
Technically Pearl is a prequel to X, but yeah I'm still surprised that those two didn't show up.
X came out on 3/13/2022, the post credit scene had a trailer for its prequel Pearl, which was released on 9/16 of that same year, and that has a trailer for the final film of the trilogy maXXXine which is still in production.
Rurouni Kenshin 2 and 3 are also a good example of this
And the shortest wait for videos games would have to be fnaf 1-4
Originally, Avengers Kang Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars would’ve been back to back in the same year which is crazy. (May and November btw)
You should do this with TV show season. I feel like cobra Kai is up there for the shortest and the longest
If you think about it, Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse couldve been in this list if it wasn't delayed ;-;
Ninja Turtles also had a very short wait for the sequel, with Secret of the Ooze coming out less than a year later
Next year, we're getting this movie called Horizon: An American Saga coming out in June 2024 and its gonna have a sequel that comes out in August 2024. It's gonna be right up as the shortest waits for movie sequels.
The Strangers Trilogy is Coming Out Next Year.
kill bill vol.1 is one of the best films i’ve ever seen
He’s not understanding that the release gaps were so short because these sequels were actually shot simultaneously with the same production crew etc. On of the best best examples is actually the short gap between Romancing The Stone and The Jewel In The Nile.
Fear street started off a new trend of doing a whole trilogy together and releasing it in the same year like the strangers trilogy which is coming up in 2024
Definitely avengers IW to endgame
364 day gap
I like when movies take their time
A lot of these were all filmed at the same time so it makes sense the gaps are small as they were editing the second one when the first one was released
Child’s play 3 came 9 months after child’s play 2
pretty sure most of these, if not all, were filmed back to bac which is why theres such a quick turnaround
All of these films were basically filmed back to back. The waiting period except for the Fear Street films was the editing process.
We will apso get a quick turnaround between Rebel Moon movies. Part 1 is coming out in late December, and part 2 is coming out in April a few months later.
We getting another 3 movies back to back with the strangers trilogy
Captain marvel (08/03/2023) and endgame (25/04/2023) had just over a month between releases and they are technically considered sequels
Here’s a very shocking one, Disneys spin-off movie to cars, “Planes” released August 9th 2013, then the sequel “Planes fire and rescue” was released July 18 2014. I believe they were planned to be DVD releases but Cars 2 made so much money they slapped them in theaters.
For some reason, I was thinking about Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 having a short release time, but as it turns out it was an 11 month separation.
Yeah but this was still a rare thing. Most of these movies if not all were filmed back to back and so we’re able to be released this way
If you count prequels X came out in march and Pearl came out September the same year
I called it with Fear Street lol
Literally nearly every Godzilla movie.
I really wanted Avengers 5 and Secret Wars to still release in 2025
Most recently, Rebel moon part 1 released in December 2023, and part 2 will release in April 2024, that's a pretty short wait if you ask me
Most of these movies were filmed at once, then split later. Back to the Future 2&3 for instance was filmed as one movie
The fear street trilogy were each recorded months before they just released separately for some reason
Shout out to the first seven saw films though as all of these already had scripts and where planned out. Whearas saw1-7 all had to have scripts written, sets designed, casted, edetied and all the other stuff it takes to make a movie in a year for seven straight years!
I knew fear street was coming up lmao
I was waiting for you to mention fear street
The second i heard three movies in e3weeks in 2021 i knew it was fear street
Most of these shouldn't be counted because both films were clearly in production at the same exact time and the only reason the second one came out after was to give movie goers that wait time, that or to finish up a little bit of post production.
Because you were right with your statement about Quintin Tarantino, these are not multiple films, these are examples of one film being split in half for the sake of audiences.
The Swedish version of girl with the dragon tattoo had its whole trilogy out in a 9 month period (girl was out in. Feb, fire was sep and nest was November)
It makes sense that the deathly hollows movies released so soon they film them at the same time and just edit one and then the other
Can’t forget Planes. Mostly due to the fact that they were supposed to be Straight to DVD films
Rebel moon will be similar in story
Fear street trilogy was already filmed and edited before coming out,the 1 week wait was just there so nobody would binge it
Ringu And Spiral Came Out At The Same Time.
You forgot Ultimate Avengers 1&2.
There was a 61 day gap between both
Child play 3 came out less than a year after the second one
The people who waited 10 years
The whole dollars trilogy was released in the same year
Child's Play 2 came out November 1990 and Child's Play 3 came out August 1991
I thought lotr or hobbit would be up there for starting the trend
Technically they didn't start it, even in the golden age of Hollywood it was normal to have sequels made in short time
Ginger Snaps 2 came out in January 30, 2004 and Ginger Snap 3 came out in July 10, 2004
To be fair with Back to the Future that definitely makes sense since part 1 and part 2 were originally going to be one movie I heard then they felt it was too long so broken it up
Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2 two months 💀💀
BTTF2 didn’t has the trailer for BBTF3 on it theatrical release, it was until it was released on home media that the trailer was added.
Fear Street is just so good
FEAR STREET REPRESENTATION LETS GOOOOOOO
Pumpkin head II came out the same year after the first movie.
Matrix Reloaded came out in 2001, Revolutions came out in 2003.

Though both movies are really just the 2011 TV show re-edited into 2 feature length movies.
With bttf, they could've released 3 in '89 as well, because they filmed it at the same time as 2
Yea they just wanted to build suspense
I wish the twilight movies were still waiting to come out, maybe they wouldn’t be so ass if they actually spent time on them 😂
Child’s Play 2 and 3 had a nine month gap, similar to the Harry Potter example
I knew from the get go that fear street was gonna come up
Its crazy that id really short
Marvel movies kind of count for this but if you count all the marvel movies as one series, that time at the end of 2021 there were like 3 movies in 6 months

You should add Gangs of Wasseypur here. That has the shortest ever known probably.
Batman the long Halloween parts 1 and 2. That was only a 35 day gap
saw had 7 movies come out per year
Lucifer season 5 part 2 and season 6 lmao
The Batman part 2 not even starting production almost a year after release 🙃
X and Pearl came out 182 days apart
Fear street doesnt really count the same because they were made and released at the same time on purpose because it was like a miniseries in the form of movies
Child’s Play 2 and 3 had a nine month gap.
That’s probably the reason Child’s Play 3 is the worst Chucky movie.

Counting films released on streaming seems unfair. It's really no different than tv episodes being released weekly.
Son of kong came out 9 months after king kong
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Endgame finish filming before Infinity War even came out?
Is that flippin batman
I think the two new spider verse movies are going to be only in a four months apart
