    Dude ive been waiting for this video more then any other video on RUclips! I sowed some midnight a few day’s ago but I’m worried about this heat wave we got coming in Chicago:( fives days of 90+ temps.. where are you located and did it get that hot while you did this project?

      I feel your pain :( I'm in IN and my grass looks so bad from this summer's abnormal heat.. and I had it looking so good over the spring. Just be sure to keep the seed moist and I'm sure it will pull through.

    I think what you are going to find is that the KBG color will catch up to the Rye eventually and possibly surpass it. KBG is known to be slower to reach maturity. Weill be interesting to see as it progresses. (and I have no dog in this fight, I'm a St Aug man, these are just my thoughts) 😅👊

      The Lawn Care Nut - “the short cut lawn” made a video yesterday showing freshly grown kbg and perennial rye. The prg was way darker then the super elite kbg’s but like you said, I’m extremely curious how the color will evolve over time

      @LCN Lol 👊🏼😁 it’s true these kbg’s are still on its “neon” stage, It will darken eventually specially that Mazama, but we’ll see if it can surpass rye? I have a 2 year old elite kbg and rye in my back lawn and that darn rye is just way too dark, it looks like polka dots in some areas 😁

      The local grass where a weed like dandelion is pulled immediately becomes stimulated and spreads out a bit within a day or so, as long as there is water and good temperature. Those weeds suck up so much soil resource- you don't appreciate it until you've pulled and carried an entire garbage can of them and it's your property.
      Someone should do an actual study on it.

      @ShortCutLawn  4 года назад

      Fungicide is safe to apply during the process. 1/2” is a little too short to be walking on, i’d wait for a few more days. Thats the downside to applying fert two weeks after seeding, depending on where you’re at seedlings might be too fragile to walk on at that point, but as you can see i typically don’t have that issue, at 17days it’s about 1-2” already.

While I love the rich dark green color that the PRG holds almost year-round, it is MUCH more finicky than my TTTF and requires a lot of babying. If I get off my watering or mowing schedule by a day or two, the PRG shows it. If I had to do it over again, I would probably go all elite mono TTTF. I'd give up coloring slightly, but it would be close enough and I would get back a lot of time and money. Just thought I'd share to keep in mind.

    The difference in color of that 1st plot is amazing... was that the most expensive seed? They all looked great for being 30 days old,? After weeding and mowing all looked great, nice job

      Vincent Stivali The dark green is most likely from the perennial rye grass.

    After that mow. I’m impressed. I wished I could use a regular mower on st Augustine. I have to use an ex mark commercial 30 to get clean cuts with clippings that turn the dust. What was the thing you used at the end. Would that stripe a st Augustine yard

      Shouldn't not be leaving clippings on Buffalo/St Aug promotes more fungus issues. Like over watering does.

      It would but you probably want to cut higher than it goes.

      It’s a Swardman reel mower. I think there’s a guy in Australia that cuts his stAug really low, but im not hundred% sure.
