    You have just demonstrated perfectly how NOT to fit a metal bracelet to a watch. The method you use will cause damage to the lugs.

    WRONG!! Spring bars for leather & rubber bands are DIFFERENT to spring bars used for SS metal bracelets. It’s not “one type fits all”. You should have mentioned this as it’s important. Also removing the spring bar initially using the lug edge as a fulcrum as you showed, will eventually damage that edge. In addition, detailing the correct tool used in terms of brand and model number and whether you’re using “F” or “M” fork, is helpful. Your’s looks like it’s incurred damage to one side of the fork. This isn’t at all showing “best practice” in removing and reattaching bands.
