That definitely sounds like a modern DOHC Ford Coyote motor, probably the 5.2L Aluminator crate engine, judging by how aggressively it revs to the moon and because that's a pretty common choice for these GT40 kit cars.

The first versions had 270s Ford Cosworths. The second version had 289s. They all broke at LeMans is 1965. The mk2 in 66 had 427s. Crossed the finish line 1,2,3. The mk4 also had 427s. Lived through it.
The first version of GT40’s used the 255 Indy Fairlane engine(1st version, OHV) through 1964. In 1965, 289’s were used up until Le Mans when the MkII was ran using 427’s along side the MkI 289’s. These configurations would run all the way through to the end of 1967 when rules set in place allowed for a maximum capacity of 5litre and a minimum production of 50 cars (revised to 25 in 1969) allowing the JWAE/Gulf GT40’s run 302’s (4.9litres) JWAE also ran Mirage M1’s (modified GT40 chassis and improved aero) with an array of sizes, 289, 305, and 351 in 1967, which they themselves weren’t considered GT40’s, and the program was shuttered.

That's not a "Ford GT40", it's a kit car. The "Ford GT40" was in reality the British Lola Mk6 with "Ford GT40" painted on it, which is why the steering wheel was on the right.
@classicperformance Superformance doesn't build complete vehicles. The fact that a kit car is mostly put together in a "factory" and then completed after sale, doesn't make it any less of a kit car.
The particular motor in this car is the 5.2L 317 CI Aluminator crate motor with EFI stacks. The MK1 race cars had the smaller 4.2L small block and the street cars had the 289 4.7L and the MKII and IV has the 427 side oiler. FIA eventually changed the rules on Unlimited Displacement which made the 24hr famed winning GT40s as we know them obsolete. R.J. although I am not a Ford man my very favorite American muscle car is a '70 Boss 429 (semi-hemi). They made fewer than 600 of them that year and EVERY one of them had a stick bc neither an FMX nor a C6 could hang with the mill!!! But so as far as I know they didn't begin full-scale mfg. of the 351 Cleveland until '70. Buddie of mine painted cars back in the day had a neighbor who had one and he said he used to hate that car bc everytime dude used to give her the beans it sounded like a meat grinder!!

The particular motor in this car is the 5.2L 317 CI Aluminator crate motor with EFI stacks. The MK1 race cars had the smaller 4.2L small block and the street cars had the 289 4.7L and the MKII and IV has the 427 side oiler. FIA eventually changed the rules on Unlimited Displacement which made the 24hr famed winning GT40s as we know them obsolete. R.J. although I am not a Ford man my very favorite American muscle car is a '70 Boss 429 (semi-hemi). They made fewer than 600 of them that year and EVERY one of them had a stick bc neither an FMX nor a C6 could hang with the mill!!! But so as far as I know they didn't begin full-scale mfg. of the 351 Cleveland until '70. Buddie of mine painted cars back in the day had a neighbor who had one and he said he used to hate that car bc everytime dude used to give her the beans it sounded like a meat grinder!!
