USA in 1987 was awesome with game shows in the afternoon and the Cartoon Express! I also remember Check It Out airing here and in syndication on WNYW in New York around this time.
It's just from a VHS tape that someone recorded off of TV. Nothing special. I think the original encode had some sharpness/video noise reduction applied.
@@3Storms I know all of that, but there is no evidence that these were recorded on a "pro/industry setup" or even a 4-head VCR for that matter. The recording was about exactly two hours long so it was most likely recorded in SP mode. Like I said, the video was processed with noise reduction, which tends to hide a lot of flaws in VHS.
The Babymaker-soon to be remade for Lifetime! Shower Massage-he was enjoying that a little too much it looks like.. Lady Speed Stick-a tribute to Flashdance Showtime-nowadays its a different story Partnership For a Drug Free America-if only the son had listened while he were stilll alive Quo Vadis-"it means,'WE KICK ASS!' " (Eliminators reference) Miracle Ear-at least she couldve told him what he said
I Googled the "The Baby Maker" flick and it is a TWO word title not one and had a theatrical release in 1970. Funnily enough there was a "The Babymaker: The Dr. Cecil Jacobson Story" TV movie in 1994. Odd...
I miss all the awful sci-fi I could watch late at night on USA, which I was far too young to be watching. I wouldn't even eat ravioli for ages after seeing a movie about killer slugs!
- USA Network in ‘87? I guess they would be showing reruns of “It’s Your Move”, obscure Hanna-Barbera cartoons and game shows, or something else that only lasted 13 episodes. - how much does non-perfume opium cost? -- “Check It Out” just looks like a failure. - “Tin Men” - where I grew up, we didn’t get Request PPV until a year later. I was always curious to find out which movies bombed so badly that they ended up on the inferior Request 2 channel. - Casio keyboard commercial - that kid thought he won the musical battle, but we’re really laughing at him.
I love when 80sCV uploads ! I love watching these flashbacks, makes me want to be a kid again and be carefree! Thank you 80'sCV for the hard work !
That USA Movie open looked like it was straight out the late 70s! Loved it! 😍😍😍
Yeah, it's from the early 80s, and lasted until around 1988. Even by 1987, it looks dated.

DanZero77 yea back when USA was good
That anti-drug psa hit me in the feels.
I lived in Vegas during this time. Great memories.
So did I
For 16 years
And I still live there.
I moved to Las Vegas when I was 18.
🏡 of the Vegas Golden Knights.
$120 for a metal model? Insane.
Clay3613 I thought the same thing.
We owned one of those Oster Food Processor
s when I was a kid.
That commercial for The Book was cool - I actually got The kids' version of The Book For Christmas that year! I still have it, too.
20:42 With that accent, I could add in the words "BLEAH! BLEAH!"
ThisGuyFrritz it gets more and more frantic as the commercial progresses!
Neil Diamond's Hot August Night II album stalled out at #59 on the Billboard Album chart early in 1988.
the quality is immaculate. i imagine this came from a pro/industry setup

Miracle Ear - “He said, ‘Stop asking your wife what I said and get a hearing aid!’”
11:33 just seeing a guy as santa with the beard pulled from where its supposed to be just reminds me of Billy from Silent Night Deadly Night

Chris Lang I loved It’s Your Move.
I’ll rather watch Eating Raoul then a hundred generic holiday themed romantic comedies
I wonder if anything from the Franklin Mint has appreciated? If not how the heck do they stay in business?
Also the model reminds me of the scene in Tommy Boy when he destroys the guy's car models.
13:02 that's the mom from Boy Meets World
Yeah Amy Matthews
Played by Betsy Randle
The announcer at 11:55 sounds like Tru Hawkins.
Why don't I now own a wireless iron
