I was taken back to 1989 just from this set of commercials alone - CBS Special intro, end of the cold war, Doctor Doctor (played by Max Headroom no less). If only we could stay here.
0:33 - The 7-Up Spot was everywhere in the 80s and early 90s. It even inspired a line of successful and pretty good video games that managed to rise above the stigma you would expect from a video game based on a soft drink mascot. Kind of wish the little guys would make a come back.
Oh man ... I lived in the DC area when this aired. May have even seen this as it was being broadcast as my family had a thing about channel-flipping to watch all the Christmas specials that were on at the same time.
- “Cool Times Barbie” - The Product Development Department had to struggle for something creative. - “It’s a good time for the great taste...” You know, I wonder what has been the longest slogan run for McDonald’s... - 1971’s MCDonald’s - with John Amos of “Good Times” - 15:44 drugs, drugs, drugs... which are good, which are bad... - Cher’s “Uninhibited” - “It probably smells like a rotting corpse.” - San Francisco DJ Alex Bennet, 1989. - Kraft Mayonnaise - if you had Patti Deutsch as an ordering customer with Constance Shulman, you can have an interesting commercial of people that sound like they have head colds.
16:39 Is it a coincidence that Constance Shulman who did the voice of Patty Mayonnaise on Nickelodeon's Doug was in a mayonnaise commercial 2 years earlier? Is that why they gave the character that name?
50. Soon as she started speaking, BAM! o.O; A good voice is something you never forget, I sure haven't forgotten that one. If only she let out a small chuckle, that would've been amazing to hear. :3
There's been a huge uptick in Prancer airings the past few years. I don't know if it's catching on with younger audiences, but it's certainly getting an opportunity.
I was thinking the same thing. I can recite the whole thing by memory. But if they don't now, then they certainly got many many years of use out of it.
I think it stopped playing by the late 90's...but don't quote me on that. Around 1995 they replaced the voice of Santa with IMO a much inferior voice...for some reason. I'll be posting that version soon.
Stop The Madness-Cryer soon to be seen as Lex Luthor on the CW's Supergirl Mcdonalds-it's George Costanza's mom..wonder what she thought of her son in that McDLT ad lol A Very Brady Christmas-who are these versions of Jan,Marcia and Cindy, and what did they do with the real ones Beauty & The Beast-"it's NOT a fairy tale anymore!!" because they made the boneheaded decision to kill off Catherine..then again,G.R.R.M was one of the show's writers One & Only Teen Awards-before Nickelodeon's HALO Awards
TTrigg no idea who played “Fake Marcia” on the Bradys, but I do remember that former VJ Martha Quinn played Bobby’s girlfriend. As for “fake Cindy” in this movie, she played Scott Baio’s girlfriend in Charles in Charge.
the CBS SPECIAL intro, nuff said!
Wow, I really got into the Christmas spirit after watching this episode. Things were just different back then.
Prancer, the "new Christmas classic".
Then came Home Alone...
I loved that 7 up commercial with the dots driving the fire truck under the tree!!!
I love Spot 7up! I still have that nintendo game so fun

Thank you. I’d be totally cool with a network that shows only commercials .... and here it is.
Pretty sure there are rights problems, especially with older commercials. But at least we have archives, you know.

39. Was my all time favorite McDonald's Christmas commercial.

It's definitely possible. Especially if they cast her for that based on her voice in these commercials.

Do they still air that Fruity Pebbles christmas commercial or did they play it so much it's just permanently ingrained in my mind?

ISOTONER!!! I use to have quite a few pairs of those back then.
So did OJ...
43.) McDonald's: John Amos (from Good Times and Roots fame) was in this commercial.
Estelle Harris was perfect for that role.
I swear that one reindeer sounds like the guy who voiced the little dog on 2 Stupid Dogs
Thank you!
wow great quality
Wow. I remember the cholesterol free mayo. DIS. GUS. TING! Same great taste, my gluteus ultramus!
Merry Christmas to all! 🎄 ❄️ ☃️ 🌟

I love the fact that the guy who played Lenny Luthor in Superman IV is now going to be playing Lex.

The "fake Cindy" is also famous as the girl at the beginning of Ghostbusters with the psychic flash cards. "Is it a star?"
13:31 Funny thing, McDonalds used that same tune for at least one of their training videos back in the 70s: ruclips.net/video/l0NOhQj1m3s/видео.html
That was their jingle back then.
Good freakin’ gravy Prancer was depressing
Try watching "One Magic Christmas" with Mary Steenburgen. That is the gold standard for depressing Christmas movie IMO
80sCommercialVault I think I’ll stick with a different Christmas movie she was in-Elf. Significantly less depressing.
