Another aspect to the culture war that is sometimes not touched on is how most people only support wokeness because to them it's the "winning" side as per the ideologies prevalence in the media. Rockwell said it best in this quote "Revolution is a spectators sport. The majority will sit in the stands and watch the factions fight. At the end they will choose side with the team that is winning." The left understands this to some degree which is why they work so hard to stomp out dissident voices. To the normie they look like an unopposed victor which is what gives them their power. That's why it's so important for our guys to create their own art, news outlets, games, etc. We need to make the normies realize that the bugman's plans for our future isn't set in stone.
We need to counter these modern "video games" by making actual art ourselves. Games that channel what the industry was putting out in the late 90s & in the early-mid 2000s.

You need to watch the latest Diablo 4 dev video "Diablo IV | Adventure with a Dev | Belfry Zakara" that Blizzard just released. Even if you have no interest in Diablo 4 it's worth watching, since it so perfectly showcases everything wrong with modern gaming. In the video, there are two developer leads playing their own game that they designed, and it's obvious they have NEVER played a game before in their whole life. Like, not a single one, ever. For sure. Apple IIe, MAME, NES, SEGA, SNES, and more emulators are all available on PC. When my kids were growing up, I gave them access to my emulator library instead of Minecraft and the usual garbage for kids. All of them couldn't stand Minecraft when they eventually saw it. Platformers and "Flash" games are all they played when they played. To this day if gaming comes up as a topic they only talk about indy games. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of them into RPGs which is my favorite genre. I was raised on Ultima 1-4.

The best part about being a retro gamer in 2023, is that old games legitimately play better now than they ever have. Games that may have released in a buggy state, which was already a rarity, can be patched to completion. Even emulated games have fan-patches. It's a medium that IMPROVES with age. Why, oh why would I ever play a modern game.
I boot up PCSX2 just to unwind and bask in the sounds and environments of a now lost art form. Snake Eater in 4k... that jungle full of life, birds, flying squirrels, rabbits. FF12 with HD textures... those detailed locales and that fantastic OST. Salikawood, man. Mesmerizing.

Since you're on the subject of replaying older classics, the very recently released Quake II remaster is a shining example of how a remaster should be done. It's a free update to the original where visuals got a decent boost while still retaining the retro look and art style of the original, enemy AI got enhancements (and some enemies got new attacks), CGI cutscenes got remastered at a much higher resolution, cut content is restored, all previous expansions and a new expansion campaign are included, local splitscreen and crossplay online multiplayer and co-op are included, and additional modes for viewing concept art, weapon and character models are added. And relating your point about how western studios remaster to censor content to appease the left's agenda, this one kind of went in the other direction as I noticed that one of the female enemy types seems to now have, uh, "plot movement," if you catch my drift. I had to do a double take when I noticed this in the model viewer mode lol

I use my Switch and play mostly classic games. I can confirm classic is the way to go. It was my always my wish to jump into the world of gaming pre-2010s and I'm fully invested. I find the people who need the modern graphics and modern controls annoying. Learn to appreciate your history. Getting a hang of the controls for older games is not hard.
The solution? Just play old (let's say pre 2015) games. Read old books. Watch old movies. There is more amazing content already out there than you'd be able to play/read/watch in 5 lifetimes.

I have some ideas for established franchises as well as original concepts. If there was an opportunity I'd take a stab at it. If I did a story for a new perfect dark for example, I'd have it where the player character discovers the corporation you infiltrate is playing a role in pushing the trans agenda and other social engineering campaigns to destabilize nations, like as psychological warfare operations. And there'd be storylines about false flags, hoaxes, fake viruses, propaganda, espionage, everything.
@@j-555 Those ideas are freakin' awesome. Here's the thing though: You will never ever be given a shot. I've tried for years, it's a total waste of time to even contact big game companies. Working with indie devs is no good either, they're extremely quick to give up if things get difficult. Only way going forward I can see is either 1) work in RPG Maker, or 2) getting together with right wingers or people you actually know and can pressure into not giving up. RPG Maker isn't a perfect solution because you need original art to stand out, but people do play those games. We're in a tough spot man, most people with artistic talent don't want to not work, so they'll go hard left and put pronouns in their bio to get jobs. I don't know what to do but you gotta work with like-minded people, and not give up, and also be prepared to not make money.
The solution is very simple. Intelligent and passionate artists who do understand games and grew up with this art form, and are not mentally ill leftists, should go indie and make games that surpass in every aspect the garbage that the Triple A industry vomits and dares charging 60$ for. This way, games are created freely with passion in mind, instead of created to follow ESG politics and with money in mind. The later is not really a game, it's a propaganda with the purpose of normalizing certain types of thinking, and very often comes with technical problems due to the inability of the diversity hires who worked on them. The first has happened before and it worked very well and resulted in very good games. And we need to make sure that happens often. Independence is freedom.
That is true, emulating classics can be a blast. Barely any good games come out anymore. But I don't think that's the complete antidote. I still would like to see new good games be made. I think we should all start making our own games with zero politics in it. So many indie devs are troon furry degenerates, if we want a better market we need to start making games that are just beautiful and fun. The majority of the population does not like that modern games talk down to the players and want them to hate themselves. I also believe we should tell more normal gamers to start boycotting. It worked on Bud Light and Target, why can't we get gamers to do the same? Tell your friends to stop buying from garbage developers that hate them. Start a movement. We have been too tolerant and accepting. It will only work if most gamers start emulating and stop buying new games. But most gamers aren't doing that.
It’s not a matter of whether or not politics exist in games. The problem is politics became about pandering rather than being part of the story. Both the old Star Trek and Star Trek: TNG had politics, but they never lectured the audience on what goes and what doesn’t. Rather they would treat the audience with a story, one that had depth and quality to it. There are several episodes where Captain Kirk has to make some rather hard decisions. Ultimately, he can’t rely on Spock or McCoy all the time. Modern games in contrast present mainly one extremist form of politics, any other form gets shunned and buried. Same goes for Hollywood. They pander and lecture instead of actually entertain.

There has been some video games I liked with politics in them, I really liked the older MGS games and even though Kojima was pretty Leftist he was more sane back then and his points were stuff I think people regardless of being Left or Right could understand and agree with (I don't think anyone really likes nuclear weapons or war, just sees them as a necessity in dire situations.) He also in MGS2 made both of the antagonists, Solidus and the Patriots, thoroughly explain their POVs and make them both have solid points. But then starting with 2016 everyone (not just in game development but Hollywood too) seemed to become more and more extremist with Leftist Politics. I'm losing faith in people to make high quality political entertainment that isn't just extremely biased towards one side. All games now are vehemently Leftist, perhaps only for the ESG money. It's not even tolerant or open minded at all, just blatant "white bad, men bad, straight bad" regurgitated over and over again. I fear that a Right-wing political game would be made to just solely be the anti-Leftist game. Not made with artistic merit or heart, but just made to mock. Don't get me wrong, I would love a Right-wing (or centrist) leaning video game, but it would have to avoid all the massive pitfalls that Left-wing games fall under. Funny thing is, I own the top version of the Steam Deck with the etched screen, and I still have been playing my switch mostly. I've been using my Deck as more of a replacement for a laptop than as a handheld.
Heck yeah man, PE 1 is so rad. Upgrading your gun to be a heavenly cannon was so satisfying. Modern gaming is getting more and more soulless as people fall away from the True, Good and Beautiful towards the ESG dollary-doos. I think gamers (especially the younger generations) should experience the classics (without trying to change them). I'm glad emulation exists for that reason, since nowadays some re-releases get censored according to the DEI ethics committees. I was stoked to play old PS2 RPGs and see their depth compared to their sequels, it was actually very refreshing. However, I agree with some more prominent figures that this gross cancer came about from unabated liberalism that existed within things including the classic games. I think people need to create good traditional/Godly works to offset this stuff. It won't be as good as the current shiny woke toys at first, but it'll lift people up more so than just pure escapism, AND it'll keep improving once it gets going. Pure escapism has helped lead to the false belief that reality can be manipulated by one's own will, and that's just not the case. There's one reality and we all do our best in it. I’m definitely not playing ff16. It looks like it’s about 90% cut scenes and bad dialogue. I haven’t played any of them since X. They have lost the plot. I did finally get around to playing Ys VIII and man it’s awesome.
One friend and another guy from work said its nothing but cutscenes with barebones DmC gameplay. Friend inhaled copium "cu-cutscenes would be cool if they were good and gameplay would be good if it had any variety or difficulty." Guy from work gave epic rant how it was just a waste of money. in before times, cutscenes were reward after challenging gameplay segment, now you get to walk 15 minutes after 45 minutes of cutscenes

Western games suck and so do Japanese games. Identity politics and ESG aside, in regards to the actual quality of the games they’ve become mediocre at best. The reason being, the push to make games as realistic looking as possible. Which is a serious investment of time and money. The former being something they don’t have, due to management and publisher demands. This has created a worn down and exhausted work force that has become creatively burnt out. We need the gaming industry to collapse again.

Some Japanese authors are starting to love doing trans shit in the recent years. Once PS3 games can be emulated as smoothly as 6th gen, I would definitely play MGS4 again to experience the game at 60 fps, maybe even on a steam deck. Not going to buy into the current crap consoles, even if it is included in the second volume of the upcoming collection. They would probably find a way to screw it up, just like they did with the silent hill hd collection. I have no faith the silent hill 2 remake will be worth a fuck either, same as the other ones. and that "F" one set in Japan -- shit's probably not even going to come out.

The reason the old Rockstar was great was because they made fun of all cultures, regardless of their feelings. That's why in the old days they were hit with a ton of lawsuits, Rockstar was one of the most controversial gaming companies among certain political groups.

BG1&2 EE are good except that character in Siege of Dragonspear, but I always kill him immediately. And there's mod that removes that part of the character completely as well.

For sure. Apple IIe, MAME, NES, SEGA, SNES, and more emulators are all available on PC. When my kids were growing up, I gave them access to my emulator library instead of Minecraft and the usual garbage for kids. All of them couldn't stand Minecraft when they eventually saw it. Platformers and "Flash" games are all they played when they played.
To this day if gaming comes up as a topic they only talk about indy games. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of them into RPGs which is my favorite genre. I was raised on Ultima 1-4.

I boot up PCSX2 just to unwind and bask in the sounds and environments of a now lost art form. Snake Eater in 4k... that jungle full of life, birds, flying squirrels, rabbits. FF12 with HD textures... those detailed locales and that fantastic OST. Salikawood, man. Mesmerizing.

Since you're on the subject of replaying older classics, the very recently released Quake II remaster is a shining example of how a remaster should be done. It's a free update to the original where visuals got a decent boost while still retaining the retro look and art style of the original, enemy AI got enhancements (and some enemies got new attacks), CGI cutscenes got remastered at a much higher resolution, cut content is restored, all previous expansions and a new expansion campaign are included, local splitscreen and crossplay online multiplayer and co-op are included, and additional modes for viewing concept art, weapon and character models are added. And relating your point about how western studios remaster to censor content to appease the left's agenda, this one kind of went in the other direction as I noticed that one of the female enemy types seems to now have, uh, "plot movement," if you catch my drift. I had to do a double take when I noticed this in the model viewer mode lol

I use my Switch and play mostly classic games. I can confirm classic is the way to go. It was my always my wish to jump into the world of gaming pre-2010s and I'm fully invested. I find the people who need the modern graphics and modern controls annoying. Learn to appreciate your history. Getting a hang of the controls for older games is not hard.

I have some ideas for established franchises as well as original concepts. If there was an opportunity I'd take a stab at it. If I did a story for a new perfect dark for example, I'd have it where the player character discovers the corporation you infiltrate is playing a role in pushing the trans agenda and other social engineering campaigns to destabilize nations, like as psychological warfare operations. And there'd be storylines about false flags, hoaxes, fake viruses, propaganda, espionage, everything.

Working with indie devs is no good either, they're extremely quick to give up if things get difficult. Only way going forward I can see is either 1) work in RPG Maker, or 2) getting together with right wingers or people you actually know and can pressure into not giving up. RPG Maker isn't a perfect solution because you need original art to stand out, but people do play those games. We're in a tough spot man, most people with artistic talent don't want to not work, so they'll go hard left and put pronouns in their bio to get jobs. I don't know what to do but you gotta work with like-minded people, and not give up, and also be prepared to not make money.

Intelligent and passionate artists who do understand games and grew up with this art form, and are not mentally ill leftists, should go indie and make games that surpass in every aspect the garbage that the Triple A industry vomits and dares charging 60$ for. The later is not really a game, it's a propaganda with the purpose of normalizing certain types of thinking, and very often comes with technical problems due to the inability of the diversity hires who worked on them. The first has happened before and it worked very well and resulted in very good games. And we need to make sure that happens often.

I still would like to see new good games be made. I think we should all start making our own games with zero politics in it. So many indie devs are troon furry degenerates, if we want a better market we need to start making games that are just beautiful and fun. The majority of the population does not like that modern games talk down to the players and want them to hate themselves.
I also believe we should tell more normal gamers to start boycotting. It worked on Bud Light and Target, why can't we get gamers to do the same? Tell your friends to stop buying from garbage developers that hate them. Start a movement. We have been too tolerant and accepting. It will only work if most gamers start emulating and stop buying new games. But most gamers aren't doing that.

It’s not a matter of whether or not politics exist in games. The problem is politics became about pandering rather than being part of the story.
Both the old Star Trek and Star Trek: TNG had politics, but they never lectured the audience on what goes and what doesn’t. Rather they would treat the audience with a story, one that had depth and quality to it. There are several episodes where Captain Kirk has to make some rather hard decisions. Ultimately, he can’t rely on Spock or McCoy all the time.
Modern games in contrast present mainly one extremist form of politics, any other form gets shunned and buried. Same goes for Hollywood. They pander and lecture instead of actually entertain.

There has been some video games I liked with politics in them, I really liked the older MGS games and even though Kojima was pretty Leftist he was more sane back then and his points were stuff I think people regardless of being Left or Right could understand and agree with (I don't think anyone really likes nuclear weapons or war, just sees them as a necessity in dire situations.) He also in MGS2 made both of the antagonists, Solidus and the Patriots, thoroughly explain their POVs and make them both have solid points.
But then starting with 2016 everyone (not just in game development but Hollywood too) seemed to become more and more extremist with Leftist Politics. I'm losing faith in people to make high quality political entertainment that isn't just extremely biased towards one side. All games now are vehemently Leftist, perhaps only for the ESG money. It's not even tolerant or open minded at all, just blatant "white bad, men bad, straight bad" regurgitated over and over again.
I fear that a Right-wing political game would be made to just solely be the anti-Leftist game. Not made with artistic merit or heart, but just made to mock. The same way that the Leftist games are made with hate and not love.
Don't get me wrong, I would love a Right-wing (or centrist) leaning video game, but it would have to avoid all the massive pitfalls that Left-wing games fall under. It must not talk down to it's audience, it must not be hateful, it must be written with maturity and a willingness to understand the other side. It must also still be entertaining and fun, not feeling like the audience is getting lectured/preached at.
If guys like us could make something with politics in it that turned out like that, I think it could be amazing. Heck yeah man, PE 1 is so rad. Upgrading your gun to be a heavenly cannon was so satisfying. Modern gaming is getting more and more soulless as people fall away from the True, Good and Beautiful towards the ESG dollary-doos.
I think gamers (especially the younger generations) should experience the classics (without trying to change them). I'm glad emulation exists for that reason, since nowadays some re-releases get censored according to the DEI ethics committees. I was stoked to play old PS2 RPGs and see their depth compared to their sequels, it was actually very refreshing.
However, I agree with some more prominent figures that this gross cancer came about from unabated liberalism that existed within things including the classic games. I think people need to create good traditional/Godly works to offset this stuff. It won't be as good as the current shiny woke toys at first, but it'll lift people up more so than just pure escapism, AND it'll keep improving once it gets going. Pure escapism has helped lead to the false belief that reality can be manipulated by one's own will, and that's just not the case. There's one reality and we all do our best in it.

@@gronndar Exactly people say - “the games always had cut scenes” sure, but they were few and far between and they did feel earned, a nice reward for progressing the story. I want to play a game not watch a movie.

since you mentioned old games and mods, i highly reccomend ashes 2063 and amc tc, tons of content there and thy are free and not woke no diversity wokeness. Trepang 2 is a great fear clone made by fun guys, the sprawl looks pretty good. Since you like resident evil clones there are tons of them like tormented souls, evil tonight, them and us, daymare. Just play those, dont play AAA games, play the old yakuza games they are great. Play emulatiors. Although i dissagree that this industry will collapse due to not funding it for two reasons, one look at saints row, it collapsed but they keep making dlcs for it as if they are contract obligated to do so, like they get paid to make woke dlc and finish the cringe and they were bought by gearbox who only exists because npcs buy borderlands who is woke and look how everyone lose their sht about baldurs gate 3 which is woke and cringe but has role playing so that makes it good to them. I highly recommend atom rpg, underhell and insomnia the ark if you liked stalker and want an rpg version of it, not so sure about encased and i dont recommend tunguska the visitation, because its a big of a difficulty spike mess with bad controls. Also dont forget to play amerikan krogans grounded mod that remove all the non white, non american eg vlad and mary sue and gay characters from fallout 4 and replace them with new characters. The second reason why we cant starve them out is esg scores a social credit system that pays them to be woke and how microsoft basically bought half the industry, we cant destroy microsoft.
Western games suck and so do Japanese games. Identity politics and ESG aside, in regards to the actual quality of the games they’ve become mediocre at best.
The reason being, the push to make games as realistic looking as possible. Which is a serious investment of time and money. The former being something they don’t have, due to management and publisher demands.
This has created a worn down and exhausted work force that has become creatively burnt out. We need the gaming industry to collapse again.
They have become mediocre because they are made by diversity hires and not by actual competent people for the job with a passion for it because that demographic is very problematic and not diverse, and the reason Japan is getting worse is because they are trying to imitate the west

You could study for 6 years in computer science and have less of a chance at getting a job than someone who just cobbled together crappy steam games in Unity for a few months. @@KratostheThird older games are best and indies are usually better than triple A games. In regards to West vs East, I am slightly in favour of Japan. I primarily play 5th and 6th generation retro games and the occasional modern game but both sides have come up with some truly amazing games, especially in the 6th gen era.

Can you emulate Ninja Gaiden Black? I've wanted to play it since waybackwhen but the 'Remastered' version on Steam is apparently shagged. Team Ninja head Itagaki left after NG2 or DoA4 can't remember, they've been shit ever since though.

@@unitkilla5967 Well I know a few sources because I like manga and anime etc, but if you look at fire punch manga you'll see a lot of 'progressive' gender issues with a character, same with the Blue period anime where a guy who dresses up as a women is struggling because he doesn't tell his dates he is a man not a women, literally... and the mc sides with the tranny character. Some Japanese authors are starting to love doing trans shit in the recent years. However the general public in Japan do not care about this as much so lets just hope it forever stays obscure i guess but the West definitely isn't helping.

Forspoken was also primarily made for the western audience and it flopped.
Once PS3 games can be emulated as smoothly as 6th gen, I would definitely play MGS4 again to experience the game at 60 fps, maybe even on a steam deck. Not going to buy into the current crap consoles, even if it is included in the second volume of the upcoming collection. They would probably find a way to screw it up, just like they did with the silent hill hd collection. I have no faith the silent hill 2 remake will be worth a fuck either, same as the other ones. and that "F" one set in Japan -- shit's probably not even going to come out.

@@j-555 All of their old games were satire. Nobody expected GTA Vice City to have storytelling at the same level as that of Metal Gear Solid 3 or even The Last of Us.
The reason the old Rockstar was great was because they made fun of all cultures, regardless of their feelings. That's why in the old days they were hit with a ton of lawsuits, Rockstar was one of the most controversial gaming companies among certain political groups.
I hear ya but honestly I never took western “controversy” seriously. Make sure you have original versions of old games. Look what happened to Baldur's gate 1&2 and Sam & Max.
BG1&2 EE are good except that character in Siege of Dragonspear, but I always kill him immediately. And there's mod that removes that part of the character completely as well.
