    Your content is exactly what I need. I'm not a boxer but have studied different martial arts through it my life. Now I've got kids and no good places near me for them to learn. So I'm going to teach them on my own. Boxing being the first I've been looking for content to share and work with them

    First min and 35 secs in the fight IQ in this vid is what I'm looking for and so WHOOP WHOOP NEW SUB. Thanks for the content man! Great pointers. Seem so obvious but even some coaches won't teach the strategy of leverage.

    I use a standard high guard stance, because it works in both boxing, and muay thai, so I don't have to switch stances all the time, the cross guard works too in both

    Boxing or fighting with your fists is a game of chess that can be lost by one wrong move, or one right punch in the right place at the right specific moment. It's also a game of observation and good conditioning. No boxer has ever really made the greatest of impacts by going out on the weekends and blazing 5 grams of cocaine and drinking themselves stupid with their friends. The art of boxing in general is a serious business so people who box should take it seriously if they wanna be a champion tomorrow. Joe Calzague (not correct spelling I think) for example from Wales UK, every single day for the most part of his career barring a certain amount of time where he didn't spar due to problems with his hands he trained every single day of his career, road work and mostly everything else in training, every single day without fail he at least did some sort of conditioning and not just for an hour. He finished with an unbeaten career, ended up in the Boxing Hall of Fame, and beat boxers like Jeff Lacy, Roy Jones Junior, Chris Eubank he sent him across the ring and he landed on the right hand side of his arse, Hopkins, and a lot of other boxers in his career. You don't achieve those things as a boxer if you don't put the work in just the same as you ain't gonna get far in a street fight if you smoke 20 a day and drink 20 pints each weekend. It's a great sport, a serious sport but a great sport nonetheless.

    oh okay, you just made me understand the mindset behind the bladed stance better. What should I do when my opponent is a counter puncher and is waiting for me to initiate the offense. Also what videos should I watch to learn boxing in the bladed stance style.

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  4 месяца назад

      To deal with a counter puncher you have to counter their counter. Compound attacks. Attack - cover - attack, or attack - move the head - attack.

    What people miss with mayweather and the philly shell is that he will rarely be in that guard when boxing at range because it is a poor start for the jab. You only have to think about it briefly

    4:30 "isn't the best stance because it's peekaboo" isn't there an explanation why the peekaboo isn't perfect? I get that there are flaws in every stance, but what are the flaws in peekaboo stance?

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  Год назад +2

      It's not about flaws. It's that if you are trying to maintain long range and a defensive position while moving in and out then peekaboo makes that's harder to do
