We always need another 50 mm, but not as big...when it come to just at 1.8. That size should have been 1.4

Thanks for your review. I'm putting a budget kit together for podcast interviews with Sony ZV-E10s. If this was locked off in a controlled 2-person interview environment, how well do you feel AF would perform?
Picked up the 35mm Brighten Star f0.95 manual. Really love the build all metal, click aperture ring. Focusing is tricky especially up close though. Kind of wish I stuck with AF lens now that these companies are all coming out with AF lenses. Probably looking for a 85mm first though. Then maybe 50mm.

Can i use a full frame lens on a mirrorless camera?
How is this compared to the SEL50F18F? Been looking around but sofar nobody i found has a good answer. I have the SEL50F18F. I love it especially since most my work is low light. But i would buy this if there is a performance upgrade like chromatic aberration, flaring, contrast, and realworld use.

I’m curious how this compares directly to the Sony 50mm f1.8 FE. That one sits around $200 as well and has some pretty mushy corners stopped down.
take a look at christopher frost review, this lens is sharp corner to corner even at f1.8
@@minhphudinh1903 I own the 50mm FE and I find it’s quite soft in the corners stopped down. Not unusably so, but more than is ideal.
I have the same Sony lens but mine is fine in the corners. Mind you, I'm not using it for anything outside of portrait shots and I usually crop just a tad so this is likely why I don't notice it
What preset you use for that look in the pictures? Those pictures Looks nice ñike film simulation
No presets. This is no picture profile, AWB, straight out of camera.

There is a Meike 50mm af lens that is cheaper and apparently very good. Almost all the reviews I could find are for Nikon though.
The Sony 50 F1.8 FE version also sells for $198 when on sale and is much smaller. The Sony 50mm f1.8 is very noisy when focusing and does not have the best optics either. TT artisan could have made an F1.4 version AF lens and that would have been more appealing.
Im sure that is coming next. But i can already imagine how big it will be....
A little bigger than this lens for the 1.4 version is ok to me. What I wanna see is the optical performance compare to other 50 1.4 ones.

Lens 50mm f1.8, but has a front lens size of 62 mm, which is what I really like.
In Thailand I can order it for 150 USD, which is considered very cheap.😊😊😊

Interesting lens. In the beginning of the video you say that it feels like there are hundreds of 50mm full-frame lenses. Well...not really. For me it actually feels that the selection of 50mm lenses is surprisingly small. Some expensive f1.4 lenses, some cheaper China f1.4 lenses which are not that great, a small Sony Baby-G which has only f2.5, a Sigma which is great but only f2, and the Viltrox f1.8. When it comes to a decent f1.8 50mm, I think there's only the cheap Sony, the Viltrox and this 7Artisans, right? I'm really missing a high quality but still compact f1.8 50mm. Haven't found something that can replace my Sony 50mm f1.8 yet. Viltrox and this new 7Artisans are much bigger than the Sony.
The big question is: Is the 50mm 7Artisans significantly better than the Sony 50mm f1.8, which is also cheap and much smaller? The 7Artisans must be really better to justify its much bigger size. Personally I'm very impressed with the Sony 50mm f1.8, for its price and size it's fantastic, especially if you don't need very fast AF. And very convenient for travelling. Would be great if you would make a comparison of multiple 50mm lenses.

Fine, but a bit too big. The Sigma 56mm is a tiny little thing by comparison.
Worth checking the Christofer Frost review as he does some tests on APS-C

I would get this lens if I already didn’t have the Sigma 56mm.
I mean u still could if u like full-frame lenses. The sigma 16 is the only aps-c lens that i have and was interested in. I use the sony SEL50F18F and especially in aps-c mode i love it i use it on my a6000 and my A7cR alot. Mostly on my A7cR now since the aps-c mode is fantastic.
Slap a thin short piece of electrical tape over that MF/AF switch and be done with it.
Sometimes I feel that Arthur just created this channel to show off his wife.
$200 for a full frame 1.8 lens! Great news for prosumers.
You can buy Sony 50mm 1.8 for 180€ in germany or used for 140€. The Viltrox lens is sold for 199€ right now in germany and it was sold for 149€ before. Why would u show a screenshot with 379$ on the Viltrox lens? Thats very misleading!
The Sony 50mm F1.8 is a terrible lens. I don't consider that a good full frame option. Not sure where you are seeing the viltrox for $199, but in the US all of the prices are $359 to $379. But things do go on sale.
@@ArthurR I don't think the Sony 50mm F1.8 FE is a terrible lens at all. It is pretty good in my opinion.
@DjimmyTrovy i use the full frame 50mm. SEL50F18F. Ive had no issues. I love it. Im considering this lens to have a second 50mm lens. But may just go for the GM.
