Hi Ollie
Excellent review and thanks for showing the decoder fitting and pointing out things to look out for. I wish more reviewers would do this.
Cheers Kev
No problem at all! Really pleased you enjoyed mate. Hopefully more reviews on the way
Great work, Ollie. Nice view and walk-through!
Appreciate it Anthony cheers!
Great video Ollie! You packed it in there. A nice review of the J27 model and an adjustment here or there. Good to see. The lay-out looks great too. The cut-ins from Preserved Railway were good too. Cheers Ollie! Keep safe now.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! More reviews on the way hopefully 👍
Wonderful video
Great review thanks. I got one when they first came out and am running on DC. Very pleased with it - I do have a soft spot for 0-6-0 tender locos - and agree the tender is very light. An absolute bargain for the asking price. I like to see reviews so hope that you will continue to do them.
Glad you enjoyed the review! I’ve still got plenty more items lined up for review but they don’t seem as popular on the channel! At least 1 enjoys them haha
Great vid as always Ollie! Really enjoying your reviewing format! Hopefully you get more items to review in the future!! 👍👍
Appreciate it bro!
Hey Ollie, A cool review I have the J27 and I agree with your comment regarding the tender, it is far too light. I noticed the wheels on mine did not rotate, so I did bent the draw bar a touch. I looked at changing the draw bar however it is too fiddly with all the wiring from locomotive to tender. I run mine on DC and it runs beautifully. I loved seeing the real thing running through the review, great stuff !!!! Looking forward to the next review. Take care and stay safe. :) :) :)
Glad you enjoyed the video mate, reviews don’t seem to be very popular on the channel but I’m happy it was useful to you! All the best
wonderful video
Cheers mels
Hi Ollie , Does the loco have a coreless motor or a 3 or 5 pole brushed motor and does it have proper bronze bearings fitted Regards David
I’ll find out for you David! Sorry I didn’t answer this in the video
Just got one - came in the wrong box from the factory - whole batch had been mis-packed in manufacture!
Got the right model (L&NER, red lining) but putting in on the track instantly shorted everything out.
Decided to remove the blanking plate and what I assume is the stay-alive capacitor, and install a decoder.
Used a Gaugemaster DCC91 21-pin - now it runs, but poorly.
Very disappointed, because all the reviews are awesome, so what is going on?
Asked Oxford but their customer service isn't good - any suggestions welcome!
On the 2 points you raise: it's almost impossible not to knock the rear lamp irons off when removing the tender body - those rear locating lugs are a bad design!
And the fireman's footplate needs to be up for tight radius curves, or it gets jammed...
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, I've never used a gauge master DCC chip so can't comment on that. Seems you have been stuck with some bad luck!
