    Congrats Greg! You are right, its definitely hit or miss with frogs. Do you bend you hooks out any? I bend them so there is about a 1mm gap between the hook points and the body of the frog. You give up some weedless abilities, but my hook up ratio went up for sure.

    When I'm told that public water is private and I can't be there, I stay extra long even if fish aren't there because we need to stand up against these Karen's that think they own the water. I have even had a conservation officer defend me and tell homeowner to stop harassing me because I have every right to fish there. Great video as usual greg, tight lines

  • @catchofthedave8681

    Awesome vid greg, love your content. I’ve never done a yak tourney yet, but I want to hit a couple KBF’s next season. I just got an old town topwater 120 pdl, and I absolutely love it. Im in kentucky, so a few of the KBF’s are really close to me. I kept thinking when u were fishing the frog, that maybe you shoulda went back in after a couple of the missed ones with a punching jig, or heavy texas rig, or tokyo rig. But I wasn’t there, I don’t know what the conditions were, and I dunno what the bite was on. It seemed like there was a dam good frog bite, but I woulda explored a punching setup too. West coast fishing is way dif than east coast fishing, so thats just a thought, I am in no way a pro or even that good at fishing where I should be giving advice. Awesome job man.

Just started watching you about two months ago and your the most productive angler to me and you fish some of my bucket list places like clear lake! And on top of that you use a lot of the same fishing lingo my grandpa taught me so I relate a lot lol. Hey bro that nolix sneaky frog is a hell of a frog. Walks like a spook in open water and is a bigger heavier frog that doesnt get fouled in the junk. You should give the red one a shot on the delta. Get the 3.5 for now and the smaller one for fall when they get on small bait.

    I do a lot of frog fishing and it is extremely tough. I think if you wait a little longer before setting the hook it will probably increase your hook up ratio. It takes a lot of self control, but you should figure it out.

  • @deweylee2449
    @deweylee2449 5 лет назад

    Hey Greg. Watching your videos ive noticed that you have had alot of frog fish get off. Do you by any chance at all just open your hooks just a little. Every frog i have bought has had the hooks pointed slightly down on the body. Before I ever tie one on I always take a pair of pliers and bend the hooks parallel or a tad up. They still stay weed less unless your casting pads that are growing out of the water but even then I rarely hang up. That's like prescriptions you have to list all the side effects . Seriously though it increased my hookup ratios by 95 percent. Great going on the tournament. Your videos are one of the few that I have not grown bored with so keep it up. RUclips has to be writing you a pretty good check by now so keep up the good work.
