- A compilation of Rupert Spira (rupertspira.com) answering questions on the
recognition of ourselves as presence and appearance simultaneously.
It is made by alan neachell.
I just need to add subtitles to watch daily.
Meditation is not something, in this approach, that starts or stops. It's NOT an activity we do with our mind. it is the very nature of our experience.
it's not that awareness is one thing in the background, and experience is another thing in the foreground, but all there is to experience is the awareness of it.
Of course understand that, from the absolute point of view, there is no practice, there is no discipline, there is nothing to do etc etc. all of that is true, but at a more relative level, there is something to be said for doing whatever it takes, to remind us of our true nature.
Beware of the danger to try to re-create the experience.
if you want any kind of test or any kind of sign just look for the degree of peace and fulfilment that you find in your life in general, not a particular moment of peace but just your general state of peace and fulfilment that you find in your everyday life. That would be the best indication whether you're going in the right direction or not. Don't look for anything more remarkable than that.
yes, felt sense awareness
Thank you. Wonderful.

i am the heart of the heart
i am the voice of a child
i am wonder astonishment and delight
i live in the space between thoughts but i play in your thinking
my abode is the moment between breaths
but i dance in your breathing
time and space move through me
but i do not move through them
i am never experienced
yet you experience only me
i never repeat myself
but i'm always the same
i have no goal but am the fulfillment of every desire
i have no feeling but i'm open to all feelings
i have no thoughts but all thoughts are an image of me
i am kindness itself
i am imperturbable and am thus peace itself
i am without resistance and am thus happiness itself
i am one with all seeming things and and thus love itself
i shine in the mind as i
i shine in the heart as you
i shine in the world as it
but i only ever am and know myself alone
i forget myself to taste the sweetness of longing
i divide myself to know the tenderness of friendship
i hide myself for the pleasure of seeking
i look for myself for the fulfillment of finding
i find myself for the knowledge of happiness
i know myself for the joy of being
i am myself for no other reason
i am closer than your breath
i am further than the stars
i am intimate but impersonal
i am peaceful like the sky
i am open like the sea
i am empty like space
i am luminous like the sun
i shine by myself
i am the substance and reality of all seeming objects and selves
i am the light of pure knowing
turn towards me and i will take you into myself
i play
i enjoy

Hey ! I loved this poem ! By Rupert itself or any quote ?
“Nothing in creation is so like God” - Meister Eckhart
Who wrote this... beautiful
Thank you so much for this. As I listened attentively I wished that I could have a copy of this message , and here we are.
I'm so grateful.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for writing this out.
I understand Rumi's "Flow down and down in always widening rings of being" ...indeed, I am living this thanks to Rupert. Last night I dreamed of a confrontation and woke realizing that I had not acted as I know I must...."'Let whatever strange things that happens happen, let us see!" says Rama Maharshi....Rupert's advice is "Awareness....its nature is simply to welcome whatever arises"... I feel that I will truly be one when I can dream in this context...
Rupert you shine from the heart & soul and we love you in return. Thank you .
The poem touched me to my core. The words are the portrayal of each one of us yet he is the author...or are we? It is absolutely beautiful and one that I will listen to often. 🙏
You will probably not accept this Truth but nevertheless it is Truth--- it is not he who is imparting this poem like statements IT IS IAM speaking through him for the sake of His Devotees, and aspirants of TRUTH.
❤🔥
To just float in a dinghy on a lovely sunny day in clear calm water just off shore and just softly observe all around to me is bliss. This world sometimes is simply too beautiful that we refuse to see and validate it. But oh when one slows down and becomes one with one's surroundings ..... oh yes . It lifts you out of yourself effortlessly. A great awakened meditaion. Nature is so powerful. So beautiful and so alive.
Mr Rupert Spira is the real master. Havent seen any one more clear simple and precise than him.
Just love him.
When I look at photos of Rupert, I see discernment. Awesome.
Ruoert is so clear in his explanations. It shows the level of his understanding.
Exquisite! Deeply touching and affirming. The poem! Thank you, beautiful Rupert.
those verses at the end of the dialogue ....amazing !!! Enchanting ....mesmerising...what to say ? just so good enjoyed it !!!
This is one of many of Rupert quintessential messages 🙏❤️ thank you for uploading
The answer to the first question is what i needed to hear at the present!
Thanks Rupert! light,love and peace ॐ ॐ ❤
Found this by mistake, I’ll have to make more mistakes like this one, and be aware it’s not a mistake after all. The metaphor of the tv screen is brilliant. Sam Harris uses the metaphor of a mirror an says “if the mirror reflects good or bad thoughts, mirror stays the same. I think the more metaphors you have, makes the intangible easier to conceptualise. Also the affirmations at the end were magic. Thank you
I follow Rupert but was very happy to find this audio, as it goes straight to the point. Thanks for sharing.
“I am already given to the power that rules my fate,I cling to nothing so that I will have nothing to defend. I have no thoughts, so I will see,I fear nothing, so I will remember myself, detached and at ease,I will dart past the Eagle and be free.” Silvio Manuel
What a beautiful invitation calling with the last few spoken words with I Am. Starting a day with these words and perhaps replay if forgetting comes in will be most soothing. Thankyou Rupert 🤗
Wow!!
This is what I have been looking for, how to live spirituality in our daily lives.
Thanks a million MASTER for sharing your profound wisdom.
My heartfelt gratitude.
💖💖🙏
The explanations are so very precise and clearly understandable. So many thanks.
Thank you Rupert for all your wisdom. I appreciate all your talks 🙏
Keeping the awareness of awareness during daily activities still needs, at least in the beginning, a certain amount of "attention/concentration". That's maybe the why the progressive way can be sometimes useful.
It's a wonderful audio. I listen to a lot. I've actually recorded the meditation on "I Am" for separate occasions and purchased his book ' A Meditation on I Am ' Rupert is An excellent teacher who helped me find the final piece of the jigsaw 🙏.
Absolutely love rupert! Thank you for just being you expressed authentic as u can😊🙏🏾💜
Thank u for uploading this gem 💎💎 thank u ❤️❣️❣️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰

The piano is beautiful, with his voice. Fantastic
Thank you, Rupert, for sharing the reminder you used to write on your bathroom mirror, etc. I have used a similar technique---of sayings that I know are reflective of Truth typed on a sheet on a chair close to my bed. Every morning, I see them there. I need not read them, because I know what is expressed in them. I also keep "Who Am I?'" right beside my meditation mat. Sri Ramana Maharshi's answer to a seeker's question about the differences between dream state and waking state (in which he states that one is long and one is short) always springs readily to mind as a potent reminder.🙏🏻
Thank you so much for your clear and tender way of explaining. I am deeply touched. Bless you a thousand times!
This is IT. Thank you Rupert.
Wonderful! Thank you so very much…and I love the piano mixed in. 🙏
This is so important to develop meta awareness, what wven attention is and what it does yo the content of the field of awareness. In order to understand the operational forces and underlying tendencies, the relaxing, expanding of awareness and non controlling and letting things manifest is a must.
Thank you md saint for putting this together. I meditated on this video... thank you!

The guide is nature
The way is nature
The destination is nature.
Beautiful, emotion provoking poem.
A recent transcendental meditation course finds that everything is nothing, and nothing is everything. I am, then awareness, then aware of being aware. Woah! 😳😁🥰
😊Thank you it's priceless.
Positively brilliant.
I am in love with this man
A simple trick to do this letting contents manifest on awareness is to expand the awareness to infinity by listening paradoxically to the sound of silence. Pl try. This is Nada yoga. Then the mind go past everything in the mind as sound and be open to the unborn, the silence. However both are illusive, creations of the mind and are like the light of the dead star from many eons ago, just manifesting as real, in front of our eyes now, neuronal play after the event, really dead and hence an illusion.
Yes I do this all the time fill the space of lack, and i will change this, thanks
Beautiful words
To look clearly and to see IS an effort. It requires a shift of attention.
Thank you for this
Out of this world, direct pointing and sweat peom,, thank you
Thanks Rupert for explanation❤ the field of meditation .That's true when iam gardening I fill the beautiful energy surrounding me and I expirience doing with being
Thank you🙏❤️
a hidden gem
Yes. Sweet and humble as well.
TLDR: Exploring the nature of awareness through relaxation and facing outward can lead to a greater understanding of our true nature.
1. 00:00 🧘 Relaxing attention into its source and facing outward to live the implications of newfound understanding are two aspects of investigating the nature of the experience of being aware.
1.1 Making effort to focus the mind on an object is necessary to recognize our true nature.
1.2 In this approach, meditation is about understanding the nature of the one that experiences, rather than controlling or focusing the mind.
1.3 Relaxing attention into its source and facing outward to live the implications of newfound understanding are two aspects of investigating the nature of the experience of being aware.
2. 04:23 🤔 Face any discomfort you feel instead of avoiding it, but if you're enjoying an activity, carry on.
2.1 Put down the book or turn off the movie, close your eyes and face the feeling of lack instead of avoiding it.
2.2 Face any discomfort you feel instead of avoiding it, but if you're enjoying an activity, carry on.
3. 06:52 🧘♂ Sahaja yoga is the practice of recognizing awareness as the constant reality of our experience.
3.1 Awareness is equally available in all experiences and cannot be distracted from.
3.2 Sahaja yoga is the presence of awareness in the presence of objects, where objects can no longer distract from oneself.
3.3 Awareness is the constant reality of our experience, and meditation is not an activity we do with our mind, but the very nature of our experience.
4. 10:35 🤔 Perception is awareness, and one can become lost in the experience, but still see the screen clearly in the third state.
4.1 Awareness and the mind are inseparable, with awareness being the knowing element of the mind's experience.
4.2 Perception is simply consciousness or awareness, and the knowing element of it is always present in the perception itself.
4.3 When watching a movie, one can become lost in the experience, only focusing on the movie and not the screen.
4.4 In the first state we watch the movie, in the second we turn it off to see the screen clearly, and in the third state we turn the movie back on but still see the screen.
5. 16:02 🧘 Experience the present by being aware of awareness and its objects as one experience.
5.1 Close your eyes, focus on being aware, and then open them again while still being aware of being aware to experience the present.
5.2 Awareness and its objects are one experience, allowing attention to range freely over it without losing sight of the knowing in every experience.
5.3 Experience is seen as a coloring of consciousness, with no distinction between self and experience.
6. 20:20 🧘♂ Remember your true nature and let it become second nature.
6.1 Use whatever means necessary to remind yourself of your true nature and keep going back to it until it becomes second nature.
6.2 Moments of remembering our true nature punctuate our normal state, and eventually these moments of remembering squeeze out the moments of forgetting.
6.3 Forgetting is natural and not a problem, as long as remembrance gradually takes over your life.
7. 24:15 🧘♂ Find your true nature by exploring different pathways and look for peace and fulfillment in your everyday life.
7.1 You can find your ever-present essence by looking deeply within yourself, and there are many pathways to do this.
7.2 Don't expect the same physical or mental side effects each time you recognize your true nature.
7.3 Look for peace and fulfillment in your everyday life to determine if you're on the right track.
8. 28:50 🤩 Experience the reality of all objects and selves in the moment between thoughts and breaths.
8.1 I exist in the moment between thoughts and breaths, never experienced.
8.2 I am the substance and reality of all seeming objects and selves, playing and enjoying, and inviting you to join me.
WAH wah AHA wonderful thanks gretitude Dhanyabad Dhanyabad Dhanyabad Rupertspira thanks ❤❤❤😅
Amazing video thanks for the upload
I love this one
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
🥰 Thank you 😘
To temporarily (if you're not in the nondual state of Self-Abidance), just access "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir", and "Om Namah Shivaya - Shivananda Adi". Listen to each for 5 min per day for at least two weeks. You'll be able to experience "Transcendental Consciousness" for lengths of time anywhere from a split second to all the time (depending on your appreciation of pure Consciousness to begin with). Enjoy the Source, Sat-Chit-Ananda, (Samadhi/Satori). Put another way, "Consciousness-Without-An-Object"., what Ramana Maharshi alludes to as "The Self".
Thank you! 😊
Thanks so much
The piano is a distraction although I appreciate your effort to keep the volume to a bare minimum. Such words need no support. They were spoken in silence and are best received in silence.
“Because awareness is not an object of experience you cannot be distracted from it.” Who is distracted? 🙏🏻
@@themindfuldj320 good answer.
I wasn't distracted and I liked it.
The piano complement the poetry
But it sounds beautiful and it’s there, so it should probably stay
Being aware does not mean that you like everything. Accepting the now does not mean that you do not have preferences.
I did not mind the piano that much, but I too found it redundant.
I prefer to listen to wise words without background music. I dont know any teachers who use it themselves!
Seems that for some everything has to be made into enterntainment - to avoid any piece of silence. These days I only listen to music when I really want to, not as a background noise. Rupert refers to this same thing with his example of books and movies @4:47.
"Awareness is the knowing element in the mind."
😍😍😍 love you all.....
Thanks' it was the right medicine.
Please have this type of videos add free 🙏🏻
Blessings
Muktananda used to say matter is consciousness..would love that level realization...😊
Thank you 🙂
There are no mistakes my love it's ALL BY GODS GRACE
Great video
The music is a pain, by,by!
Nice we ❤ u rupert spira
Like the vases and faces picture
Piano is testing Our focus😂😅
Very good practical
Hmmm... Whenever I face whatever I experience within, it just evaporates. Eventually noticing thoughts again...
Could you provide the link to the original by Alan?
I am also wondering if the feeling of lack is the same as longing? Or maybe longing is a consequence of lack. I feel that I lack and therefore I long for fulfilment.
The original by alan given is exactly the same copy, for his other work you can search alan here in YT.
Dont worry too much about the technical working of mind. Enquiry into the one who think. or in other words: What is it - that is aware of my mind?!
If more elaboration needed, you may want to check rupert spira latest books, "You Are the Happiness You Seek: Uncovering the Awareness of Being" on amazon. He becomes better and better in explaining through time, and easier to understand.
