Great video! That full screen CarPlay looks top notch. Curious if Android Auto has this feature. Would you consider upgrading to the digital cluster that is in the 23'+ models?

Another great video! Thanks for sharing. My Rebel is a 21 with the 12", but would love to do this upgrade! Do you still have the Taser DT installed? After the programming stops and everything works, do you remove the security gateway bypass box? Lastly, do you know if infotainment would give a buy back amount before purchasing the upgrade? Thanks!
You’ll have to check on the buy back before. Yes I’ll be reinstalling the Tazer this week. The Tazer plugs in where the security bypass was installed.
Did you "unmarry" it before removing it, or just remove it since you are reinstalling it.@@WaterFowler41

Great video. If I already have the 12” UC4, do I need to buy a kit and replace with a whole new screen? Or do you know if there is an option to buy just the module and wiring kit? Thanks!
Unfortunately you need the new screen too but you can keep your existing center console bezel and swap the new screen
I did this with the 8.4 when it first came out but you lose the zoom in reverse in the hitch

Did the ram app work as well as the sos/assist ? Read in some ram forums that it wasn’t working in the 2019-2022 models once people upgraded to U5 from U4
To be honest, I don't use the Ram app so not sure I can opine on that
I just called infotainment to check on this exact thing. I was told that if your current radio has the xmgaurdian ability then the new 12" will also have it. But if your old system did not have the XMGuardian ability then the new system will not have it either. Since my 2021 Bighorn with 8.4c with nav has that ability, which I use all the time then if I bought the new ucconect 5 12" I can expect that to function as normal.
Are you still able to use your RAM app for truck location and app remote start? When upgrading from a UC4 system

I have a 2020 ram rebel with a factory 8.4” no navigation do I need to purchase anything else besides the Uconnect 5 to be able to use navigation and hotspot ?
Also if my truck came with no remote start do you have any link to where I can add it ?
I think you need the module and the screen to upgrade to uc5. I would check with infotainment folks, they were super helpful when I was ordering.

Not directly with the UC5 kit but with somethin like the magic box you can.

The kit I installed in this video is a bit over $4k. If you already have the 12' UAX screen, the UBQ upgrade kit will run you around $2.6k. I had someone local to me interested in my UAX system once with the center console once it was removed so it made more sense to go with the whole kit.

My hazards and blind spot monitoring aren’t working. Anyone have a similar issue??
Hazard is a separate plug, make sure you plugged the harness back in. As far as blind spot, that may be one of the features that takes an hour or two to come back. I don't have blind spot so unfortunately cant provide much guidance there.
