Africans are very welcoming, even if she was Asian they would have accepted her. They are as jovial with other black brides, just with white people it comes with a bit of a shock or novelty.

That's a very general statement. Not every African parent is going to be okay with their kids just marrying anyone outside respective cultures. And this continent has many different cultures.
