@Ret Neychozken the NES can play sound samples but it's not optimized for it. Usually, the samples it uses are very short, like the drums in base Mario 3. To play a longer sample, the game has to update the sample register regularly to make it so it plays the next part of the clip instead of repeating the one that happened before. This can cause lag

Yes, it has a ton of movement tech added to the game like wall slides/jumps, so not everything in there is as crazy as it looks. It's challenging but it's definitely intended to be played by humans.
