That's crazy that he just lives with the knowledge that he's already played the greatest role he'll ever play... That's gotta be such a bitter sweet feeling.
Most of the actors doesnt even come close to that opportunity, he must be really proud, some will watch this series 100 years from now. He immortalised himself.
A great feeling he’s basically immortalized
Bob probably feels the same with saul
The show and his performance is timeless and historic… and he accomplished this in his mature years.. now he’s an absolute legend. It’s more sweet than bitter!
@@marceloaguirree absolutely! Two GOAT characters and shows!!!!!
Yes Howard, actors have to memorize scripts. I can’t believe you stumbled upon such a revelation.
Next time, he’ll ask a classically trained musician whether he knows how to read sheet music.
@@michaelsieger9133lmao this cracked me up. Thank you for this
“The greatest role of my life” Bryan Cranston - and he brought Walter White to life for us. 👏🏻
O oo o o
I dunno Brian, "Your Honor" is shaping up to be pretty damn good
Let’s be honest. He’s a better actor than both of them. He can be vulnerable and scary.
I don't know.....maybe a little. Cusack's pretty amazing. The character from Being John Malkovich is every bit as good as walter white in my opinion.
They're all pretty amazing actors.
@@doublestrokeroll lol
Broderick delivering the line "I am the danger..." will be laughable.
Skyler you are not in danger. You just can't think of anything else to do. Let's go to the Cubs game.
Cusack would have killed it. Matthew Broderick, not so much. LOL.
Funny this is I’m sure a lot of people would have said the same thing about Bryan Cranston had he not got the role for WW and people found out he was considered.
@@Two_But_Not_Two I can't see either Cusack or Broderick shaving their heads for the role. 😆
I heard Jerry Seinfeld was also considered for the role. "Hey what's the deal with all this danger????"
Always LOVED Cranston. Incredible actor
Going back and watching Hal speedwalking or rollerskating is just incredible after seeing Walter/Heisenberg be one of the greatest characters of all time
Choosing Albuquerque of all places was another good decision by Vince Gilligan
Bryan Cranston knocked it out of the park-no question. However, Cusack would have been excellent too. He spent the first half of his career playing nice guys, and he's been evolving into more complex characters, and this would have been a nice chance to play a megalomaniacal character. He could have done that nice balance. I hope he gets the chance to do something equally good.
He's decent but Bryan Cranston is far superior. It's not even close.
No
I think they have a certain look all 3 but it’s just the acting and what they bring idk how weird it’d feel or if it’d be the same or worse
I cannot imagine anyone else playing that role of Walter white
Obviously everything Cranston touches turns to gold, but damn I can picture that Cusack would've been really good
I was thinking the exact same thing...Broderick ?..not so much
@@roccopatrone8843 we are in complete agreement on this, although it woulda made for a hell of a sequel to ferris bueller's day off
Yea man. I’m totally with you, Cusack would’ve been great.
I wouldve probably watched the show if he was in it
Would’ve loved Cusack he’s got the same features that Bryan Cranston brought to Breaking Bad and Jason Bateman brought to Ozark. Would like a series with him, no matter the content
I want to see him in that episode of X-files
It’s on RUclips somewhere. Its a good episode, you could really see the basis of Walter and where it all came from
I agree, it was a good episode
a small clip here ruclips.net/video/EXxlJfalvrk/видео.html
"Drive" season 6, episode 2.
It was really good, highly recommended watching it
1:27 brilliant.
Thank you for the video! ☺♥
I cannot think of any flaws with the way he played that character.
He’s such a pro! Respect ✊
The end is meaningfull: you gotta do your best with anything becomes it might be the greatest thing that would happen to you in your life.
The best acting performance in the history of acting imo
We are all forgetting Aaron Paul’s portrayal of Jesse. I thought that beat Bryan Cranston’s.
Spoiler alert 🚨 !!! The scene in the desert when Hank.. y’know… Ends…. That whole scene is the only scene I can remember in my existence, where I had to stop the series to literary get my puls down, or else i could have risked a heart attack or something. I remember thinking to my self: I will never watch a series this good again. Because it’s impossible. My fav of all time is The Sopranos, but man, Breaking Bad was something else. Wow… just…..wow. 9,5 on IMDB with like 1,6 million votes? Can’t beat that. It’s unbeatable I think.
I was shocked beyond belief when hank was killed as well. Hit a part of my emotions I didn't know existed. He was my favorite character.
For me it's the Muhammad Ali of tv shows
@@KD400_ 😂👍🏻
for me it was the 4th season episode where walter white laughs maniacally when skylar tells she gave all the money to ted. That was the moment i thought to myself this is the greatest show i'll ever watch.
Tonight the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe concludes...
Been into it for soo long it’s def a rough feeling
Bryan's role was perfect in BB, definitely Grammy performance
Huh?
Give him a Tony and an Oscar too.
@@daveclark8337 and the World Cup trophy for good measure?
they should do a BB Musical, and then put out the songs on CD for a Grammy consideration.
He should've gotten a Grammy for that version of "A Horse with No Name" in the shower alone...
Seems like they were ahead of their time, originally thinking of those actors. Like later the folks at “Ozark” deciding that Bateman was perfect.
I'm thinking of watching the series. Is it good?
Yes definitely, then watch Better call Saul.
Yes. Also great because each season is better than the last so you don’t have to worry about the quality ever dipping.
@@sparkymcplug3765 shouldnt you watch Better Call Saul first? i thought that happened before Breaking Bad. Especially now that BCS is finished
Scott u MUST watch it. I'm a 74 yrs young lady & it blew My mind!! It'll blow yours also 👍👍👍
If you do you absolutely have to watch El Camino and Better Call Saul after. Best universe ever created
John cussack would have made the whole drama into a comedy. And it still would have been amazing.
Cusack yelling is gold.
Cussack is in my top three actors list, along with Jim Carrey and whoever gets the third position. I fucking love John cussack. And Jim Carrey.
Jack black is cool too.
Really? I thought it would be the other way around. I think Cusack doing it would be darker than Cranston.
I can see a version of this story with John Cusack. It'll be a much, MUCH, different story, but I can see it.
That’s hilarious thinking that John Cusack or Mathew Broderick is a bigger name than his now
God I'm so happy they didn't pick Matthew Broderick. Anytime I ever see him all I can think about is how he killed two people.
method actor
I think Miss Grey was giving him a hândy or a you-know-what when the accident happened. Both of them conveniently have no memory of how they ended up on the wrong side of the road.
Good actor
Breaking bad ended perfectly. if Sopranos is #1 best all time (which i think it is), the ending to Sopranos was "meh" i wanted more, Breaking Bad ending was just spectacular just perfect bliss to an amazing show.
I love Hal....
from Walter White to LBJ..... That is talent.
He looks so young here
I might be wrong but I also thought I saw that they were also considering Bob Saget and Jerry Seinfeld too as WW which ngl I’d be curious to see
I thought Tim Whatley DDS was Cranston’s greatest role.
Mazeltov
Hal was his greatest role
Rip Ben Stern
Hal > WW
Seriously. Who is Hal?
Hal = WW
It’s kind of like apples and oranges but Bryan nails both roles
Cranston did a phenomenal job but I'll bet John Cusack would have done pretty good also.
can we have interviews from yesterday rather than yesteryear?
King
Walter white is my hero
That’s why there are so many burnt down trailers in LA.
Stern is such a simpleton.
This interview is from?
The Howard Stern Show
In Valen's Name
Tim Whatley was his greatest role.
Matthew Broderick would have been interesting
If Vince decided to cast Matthew Broderick instead, then the show wouldn't have lasted nor got the awards it did
Thank God it wasn't Matthew Broderick
Oh God Cusack would've been a joke
B.A. Baracus should have got the role.
I skipped the first season because I thought it would be cheesy but wow, i own my mistakes
What about Fei Long!?
Matthew Broderick as Walter White would have been a transcendental experience.
Matthew Broderick? Seriously? That would have ruined the whole show.
No disrespect but broderick or cusack would have been a joke lol
Not saying Bryan Cranston wasn’t absolutely perfect for this role, but I could see Matthew Broderick playing it. John Cusack, not so much …
Broderick and Cusack make zero sense. I could see Edward Norton.
Too baby faced imo, cranston has an older presence which fits more

I heard an interview where Anthony Hopkins referred to Bryan Cranston and his Breaking Bad character as the best acting he has ever seen.
Correct. Mr. Hopkins wrote a personal letter to Mr. Cranston, telling him about how outstanding his performance was.

Walter White is quite possibly the greatest character in TV shows..
Nope, that would be Tony Soprano, but WW is definitely 2nd
Along with Tony Soprano ..
@@jeff7764 no Walter White is the best drama character of all time, because of his evolution, but if we’re to talk about the best character of any genre, then it’s going to Homer Simpson. That’s a fact
Elliot Alderson and Walter white the GOATs
Jimmy mcgill
Humble that's what makes him wonderful
Damn Howard interrupts him all the time
Welcome to the Stern universe.
That's why it's called "The Howard Stern" show I guess. lol
I know. I wish he would just stfu
Howard is in love with his own voice
Broderick and Cusack would have been ok. They’re very talented. Cranston is at an entirely different level. Difference between a pro and a hall of famer.
I’m probably in the minority here but I think Broderick would have done a fantastic job. Probably not as good as Cranston. But I look at his performance in Election and think he could have done a pretty good Walter White.
The episode aired shortly after Season 4 aired and yet Bryan's confidence that the writers woudn't end the show in a "bullshit story" tells you all you need to know about the crew.
I would of loved to of seen a John Cusack version, really like that dude
Its hard to think of anyone else playing him, totally defined by Cranston. But I could honestly somewhat imagine Cusacks take on such a character too.
In another interview I saw he said he regularly gets asked for Walter White's "recipe."
bryan cranston is unreplaceable
I would love to see and imagine if john cusack got the role, i mean he's a good actor also
Cusack could have done it possibly, but he's a bit too neurotic and doubtful to be Walter White, let alone Heisenberg.
John Cusack that's interesting
Yea, Bryan nailed it but Cusack would’ve been amazing.
Thanks everyone.
Give me the formula!
Broderick and Cusak would have been a disaster.
well Bryan Cranston wasn’t that big before Breaking Bad so it makes sense
Cusack would’ve nailed it. Would love to have seen that. Cranston IS Walter White but Cusack would’ve been great.
Cusack wouldn't have been able to pull it off. The show would have flopped.
@@DustinHawke In an alternate reality you'd be saying this about Cranston
@@DustinHawke Agreed. Zero range.
I beg to differ: Hal was the greatest role of his life
Just because we used to watch malcolm in the middle with the family on tv 📺
Hard disagree. But it is a great sitcom for sure
Hope he’s not kidnapped and forced to cook meth now that everyone knows he had DEA cooking lessons. 🤣
😂😂
This is the Greatest role of my life - Walter White aka Bryan Cranston.
Cusack would have killed it. Matthew Broderick, not so much. LOL.
Hmmm Cusack... Could have been brilliant
Cusak would also have been good!
I remember reading the script for a Better Call Saul scene, and it didn't seem "verbatim" at all. There was some improv.
Bryan Cranston and his character Walter White act so similar
One of my favorite X-Files episode is the one he's in.
We’re done WHEN I SAY WE’RE DONE
I swear I heard Vince himself in an interview say he wrote the role of Walter white with Cranston in mind
After 20 seconds into the interview confirmed. So how was he not the first choice? Click bait title.
