He's a smart man. He had his turn in Hollyweird. Made his money. (And kept it by NOT getting married) He still has relationship and walks away when it's done. Bravo! His former girlfriends still respect him, or at least his privacy. Full respect. From what I see, he's got the right attitude and makes the right decisions.
The title of this video "John Cusack Reveals Why He Never Married" is misleading. I Thought this was going to be a John Cusack interview, actually hearing the man himself explain why he has never married, not a video of what someone said he said.
Grosse Point Blank is my favorite. Very fun, quirky, and action packed and I related to it as it came out at the time of my 10 year high school reunion.
Totally overlooked ..remarkable presence and his timing in both movement and dialog is nearly unmatched..his face/body language is the best in the biz..you feel what he feels before he starts to speak
thats a very clever observation, "movement and dialogue" perfectly describes John in so many movies, even in an action flick like Con Air ('97), he moves gracefully in a role normally played by Wesley Snipes or Jason Statham. His days as a prime draw faded after, as far as i can tell, around 2012, with the '09 release of the "2012" disaster flick. But John was in TONS of solid movies during the 80s, 90s , and 00s, had a 24 year run, say from 1986 to 2010, as a solid A-list actor for comedic and thriller roles. His star power faded quickly after, but he shouldn't be ashamed.
Absolutely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
I really loved him in "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil"..... I think he went on to date Clint Eastwood' daughter (who played Mandy in the movie). Through his career he's kept himself in line and removed himself from the Hollywood nonsense, I think to be famous yet grounded is golden!
My dad once told me that there is nothing wrong remaining single for the rest of if your life so I ran with it. I’m 51. Never been married and no kids. Nowadays, staying single is the smartest thing one can do.
Why do people have to be married to make people happy? And why do other people have to butt into their personal lives, or play matchmaker? I'm a 58 year old confirmed bachelor, and I wouldn't have it any other way. You go, JC!
I married once, to an incredible lady and did it in ten days. My uncle did the same. When you know, you know, and you can't FORCE something involving two souls to just happen, like a 7/11 coffee available any time. If I hadn't met this one person, I'd probably never have been married, and that's ok. I've raised/fed a number of kids not my own, and that's all good, too.
Now I know why I like this man. I’m like him in so many ways. I’m 50 years old and people ask me why I’m still single and why I don’t date. I respond with give a man who can keep up with me and my beliefs, who doesn’t want to change me and let me be me, and isn’t one of those men who is dumb as a door nail and can think on his own. I want a man who is intelligent and independent. I don’t want a dog to train. I think John is looking for his equal. He has been in so many films centered around relationships. He’s seen so many come and go in Hollywood that I think he just wants someone who is on his same level of thinking and commitment, which is hard to find. I loved John in so many films. He was brilliant in Better Off Dead, Say Anything, Must Love Dogs, Serendipity, the Stephen King thriller Room 1408, Con Air, and Grosse Pointe Blank. For me there is a tie, my two favorite John Cusack film’s are High Fidelity and The Raven. Both are opposites of each other, one he is a quirky loveable man that works in a record store and the other is the drunk, Edgar Allan Poe, who is helping to solve a stream of murder cases that follow his writings. He was so good in both films. I could sit and watch both films over and over and not be bored.
I think the real underlying message here is that if you’re a celebrity - married or not - it’s no one else’s business what you do in your romantic life! Too many great John Cusack movies to have a favorite but I freaked out and joined the army like Martin Blank. I just didn’t ditch my girlfriend on prom night and didn’t become a paid assassin. I must admit though, being a hit man does seem like it would be more lucrative and fulfilling. 🤔
@1:35 Cameron Crowe didn't work on Grosse Pointe Blank @4:40 Meg Ryan wasn't in Serendipity and you show Kate Beckinsale who is. These are easily avoidable mistakes.
I was obsessed with that movie growing up! I didn't really know who John Cusack was until Martian Child. My mom and I used to watch it all the time. :)
He’s been in so many great movies. I met him at Cat & Fiddle Restaurant/Club located on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. How cool is he, that he would talk to me and I’m not even a celebrity. I’ve been to many Hollywood studio/wrap parties. One actress learned I wasn’t in the biz and commented “I thought u were somebody”.
Spoiler Alert!! Grifters was a side of John Cuzack that I haven’t seen elsewhere. His death scene is one of the best, most honest performances I’ve seen in Hollywood.
Ahhhh, I am only a couple of years younger an him, remember him and all that cheesy high school movies back in the '80s when I was a teen, we all got f*n old..ohhh..good ole days, youth and memories was😪
Marriage is like a tightening noose for women, that’s my opinion. I opted out of marriage and still raised my child on my own…John Cusack’s Serendipity is one of my favorites! I’m watching it now!
Gross Pointe Blank is my favorite movie of John Cusack’s. I respect his desire to keep his private life private and think Chicago may be a great place to live an individualistic lifestyle. I hope he finds companionship though, because none of us should remain alone because of Hollywood’s or the paparazzi’s pressures. I wish him the best!
nice one 🙂 what have you to say on mysterious matt dillon? i feel like the rise and fall of their star status sounds so similar. dillon's political leanings, which aren't going to make or break my high esteem of the guy's creative contribution to entertainment, are a complete unknown to me. thanks for your interesting and entertaining content ❤
You really need to be more accurate with your work! I have caught you in many, many mistakes. He had a relationship with Kate Beckinsale! Meg Ryan wasn't in Serendipity! PLEASE BE MORE MINDFUL OF YOUR ACCURACY PERTAINING TO YOUR CAREER!
Me too! It got me on an 80's romance kick. But not like the John Hughes kind. I've never seen any of those. I feel like they are gonna be more sappy and sad. 80's romance is so much better than todays.
I loved him in Serendipity. It was so heartfelt and incredibly romantic. It doesn't hurt that he was total eye candy and completely believable. Hate that he never let his screen characters become a reality. Love ain't shabby, abd I guess he's not emotionally evolved enough to be vulnerable. What a shame, but man, the man can act! Good luck, John!
his all-star cast movie with Gene Hackman whose name I cant think of ties with Con Air & Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil as my favs ......superb casting in both, superb acting by all. his integrity shows thru all his work.
One of my favorite actors and I miss seeing him. He's so talented and there is no reason not to utilize that talent except the people making the decisions on who to employ must be idiots. He's intelligent and interesting ànd I'm sure he also broke a lot of hearts. I wish him well.
Hola, hello beautiful world,i find him to be amazing .I really can't say what i find to ne his best roll , because i love all his movies equally, his just awesome God bless all actors and actresses the movie world and the world ❤️🦋🌈❤️
The reason he never married? Here's the real reason : He doesn't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. He doesn't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, he doesn't want to do that.”
I had a massive crush on him growing up! I first fell hard for him in Better Off Dead which is freaking hilarious! However, if I had to choose a favorite movie I would say "Grosse Point Blank."
Blaming "ageism" for not getting decent roles is stupid. Keanu Reeves is older than him and still gets prime choice movie roles. Guess he doesn't want to admit that he's not as good as he thinks he is.
I'm married with children and I absolutely agree with him. If I can do it over, I do it differently. I'd be single, independent, travel, work on better myself and contribute to the helpless needy ppl. I wouldn't bring children into this world. A world of crime, poverty, dangerous ppl. Brining innocent lives into this world would just bring more innocent ppl here to suffer. Our world isn't a beautiful wonderful place I once thought was when I was young. Maybe I will change my mind one day If there's no poverty no crime, no inequality . However, that's impossible.
He is a crush! He sounds really laid back and easy going. Not everyone wants to get married and have kids. They enjoy their freedom. There's a lot more single people out there, today.
John and his sister are excellent actors. Things change for everyone as we age. Why should anyone choose to play the oldest part in a storybook? Why does everyone want to live the same story? Just live your life the best way you know how. No one should think any more of that.
Would be nice for a change if people creating these videos would line up the photos with the people in them and mention names of people that are in the photos that aren’t mentioned.

1408- DAMM!
I actually respect this man even more than I already did from his great acting work. Seems like an iconoclast at heart.

His former girlfriends still respect him, or at least his privacy. Full respect. From what I see, he's got the right attitude and makes the right decisions.
"Say Anything" was his best movie. His sister Joan also is very under rated.
Nah Money For Nothing
Joan is great in School of Rock.
Some people do not want to get married or have children.
Like me... It's a personal decision.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great evening!☺
I can't figure out the kids without the crazy woman part. Dig kids. Not crazy women. There is the challenge.
Raising my hand!
And as an elder now it remains something I have never regretted. ✌🏼

That was not Meg Ryan’s pic … serendipity costar was Kate Beckinsale
