    My contribution is:
    Mix your bets, meaning play 50 cents on up for a couple and change your denomination. Do not play the same bet regardless of how much you're betting.
    If a machine is going to hit, it usually hits quickly if not move on otherwise you're wasting your money.
    Go when it's not crowded so you skip to the next machine.
    Usually if I don't hit within $300.00 for the night I should go home.
    When you win, play a liitle bit and then leave and don't play the same machine next time, find different machines and keep track of the ones that didn't hit previously and then play when you come back.
    Sometimes it's not your night, leave and come back another time.
    I've spent a lot doing this and have learned the hard way, lol
    Good luck!

      I think the best tip on this is something I always tell people, as well which is: if it's going to pay it WILL usually be SOON. You don't have to wait for a whole hundred dollars to be spent. For instance, I have studied this a lot - if firelink won't give me a bonus on 5 spins, it usually will take a very long to pay anything., And I agree too that you should switch the bet. I think progressive betting is my favorite way to play the slots.

      I know this is super rare but a few months ago my father was playing a quarter slot and got down to 50 bucks then hit 3 grand once they came to the machine for the handoay they reset the slot so he could still gamble that 50 in the machine while he waited for them to bring him the 3 grand before they got back with his money he hit the 3 grand again. Then he left. Probably the most he will ever win because when he goes he only brings 200 dollars to play with and only plays slots. P.s. punctuation is not my strong suit.

      just try really hard to be responsible. 200$ every 3 months is 1,000 a year on gambling. Thats not too much. And anytime your profit is the same (200$ or more) leave and go home.

    I think the best thing to do is to just have fun while playing. Unless you’re super serious and if it is a career, then just have fun. Know your budget and know when to quit if you win something. Why are so many people acting as if they are informing others that slot machines are a losing proposition. Everyone already knows this. You need to understand that people play slots for entertainment, as a hobby. Because someone likes to golf on Saturday's, and pays $200 in green fees and for a cart, then spends another $50 in the clubhouse having drinks with friends, we tend to accept the notion that it is not waste of money, but rather the person is pursuing free time interests. It is the same thing for people who enjoy playing slots. It is just another hobby, they go with friends and have drinks and have a good time, and sometimes they do win. Hopefully this will help stop all the snarly comments.

      i know its a 3 year old comment but whatever,
      when i gamble online i deposit 100 euro usually. if my balance is at 200 euro i will never stop and take my profits. why?
      when i deposit that 100 euro in my mind i already lost it, its not an investment. its a entertainment spending! i will play and have my fun till im out of balance OR when i hit that juicy jackpot and can cash out for atleast 10x more than i started with.
      simply dont gamble if your only goal is to profit, do it to enjoy yourself and potential profits is just a nice added plus. when you go to a restaurant you easily pay over 100 euros, or you gamble for 100 euro and enjoy youself. same thing, dont expect anything in return other than temporarily entertainment.

      I hear you bro....I hadn’t been to a casino for years...i stopped in one day..i bet $3.75 on triple dragon unleashed and hit for $5700.00 ...the people i was playing next to said, “Leave...leave now”. I played a little longer...walked out. I came back the next day and though it cost me $1000.oo i hit for 6700.00. the next few days i won several more smaller pots...i paid the tax on some of them, and didn’t on the smaller ones. Sure enough i kept going back...and out of the $15,000.00 i had won...i lost it all but $3000.00. Now come tax time it’s going to kill us...and i have nothing to show for it. I want to go back...but it’s obvious this magical time ended. I wanted a motorcycle for 20 years, but I’m on disability...i finally had the money to get one...but my wife wanted some for something else...so i caved..and thought...well...I’ll just have to win more to accomplish both things. Talk about regrets. Gambling addiction...you walk in feeling excited and high thinking about winning...soon enough...your thinking about trying to get back to scratch, then after a few trips to the cash machine, the despair and self recriminations lead to the walk of shame...to my car...and the self loathing, and crying and praying. I haven’t gone back for about a month and I’m starting to feel better. But like i say...it’s going to be bad at tax time. Take care everyone, and i pray for all of us to have grace to overcome this addiction.

    • @TheJackpotGents

      Past results do not reflect future results. It's all random. An exception would be a "must hit by slot" where the jackpot builds and it must be paid out by a certain amount. So, if it says on the machine "must it by $50," then the closer that jackpot is to $50, the more likely it will pay out soon.

    I know that the higher the denomination you bet, the higher the payback percentage. However, there are some slot machines that allow multiple denomination bets and allow you to choose the denomination to bet. If you choose a higher denomination before you bet, does it increase your payback percentage chance or decrease your payback percentage chance in real time depending on whether you bet higher or lower?

    • @TheJackpotGents

    Funny that there are laws in states saying that a machine has to pay out say 90% and another state has to pay out 95% and the machine is say a triple dollar with the exact same payouts, my question is this, then how can it be completely random? If it was random how can you guarantee that the machine over a period of time pays out 95%. Random means it might only pay out 10% whereby being in violation of state laws.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  6 лет назад +1

      The payback percentage is a theoretical number that is based on probability. For example, a 98% payback percentage is a long term number that is based on probability and it doesn't mean that a machine must pay back that exact percentage within a certain time period. Some days a casino will lose money on a machine, but most days it will make money and in the long-run the machine will pay back very close to what it is programmed to return. As a simple example, think of a bowl with 10 balls. Nine are red and one is white. If someone randomly picks a ball, in the long-run about 90% of the time a red ball will be picked and about 10% of the time a white ball will be picked. Slot machines work the same way, but they just have many more combinations programmed into them to achieve whatever payback percentage is desired by the manufacturer.

    This video says that the higher denomination machines have a higher payback percentage.
    Is that really true if you are playing the same game (but a different coin denomination)?
    The “Valhalla” or “lion Dance” or “Wild Wolf” penny machines have a different payback percentage than the “Valhalla”, “lion Dance”, “Wild Wolf” quarter machines?
    Is this also true of Video Poker (Quarter Vs Dollar)?

    Nobody should be complaining about slots. It’s literally the crappiest odds in the casino, which is why there’s hundreds whenever you walk in. If you want to make money, stick with blackjack or poker. There’s a very very slight house edge on those games.

    Back in 2000,when our casino was brand new,I sat and dropped a few single quarter tokens in a machine which offered a BMW with the max bet,three tokens at once. One token could get you 250 bucks,two a lot more(I forget how much more,maybe between 500 and a 1000 bucks.) and three the car. I only had a handful,didn't really pay heed to the progressive pattern and walked out with zilch. Maybe FIVE seconds later some random guy took my seat and won that car. First spin,first three tokens. At the very least,I think,I would have won 250 bucks and then gotten insanely depressed and frustrated upon realizing what I could have won instead. Not paying attention to the progressive thing----although I often had only a limited amount of money to spend and would try to hang on to it for as long as possible---cost me at least four much larger wins than the largest ones I went home with. Still,that's gambling. No sense beating myself up about it.

    How can past results of a slot machine not affect future results, for better or for worse? How can slot machines be called "totally random" when a pre-determined outcome is programmed? The payback percentage of slot machines would grow if there are more losing results than what is programmed to be the desired payback percentage. How can this not be the case? Let me ask/explain another way: I do not know what the time-frame (number of spins) the payback percentage is based on, but say it is 100,000 spins and the payback percentage should be at 91% +/- 1%. If, say, after the first 20,000 spins, the payback percentage is at 80%, then the payback percentage would have to be higher than the 91% the rest of the 100,000 spins. Therefore, a machine can be colder or hotter than it was previously, and this is based on past results. No? If that is not the case, can you please explain to me how this is not true, because I really want to understand. Thanks!

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  5 лет назад +2

      The payback percentage is a theoretical number that is based on probability. For example, a 98% payback percentage is a long term number that is based on probability and it doesn't mean that a machine must pay back that exact percentage every time it is played, nor, within a certain time period. Some days a casino will lose money on a machine, but most days it will make money and in the long-run the machine will pay back very close to what it is programmed to return. There is a confidence factor associated with the theoretical payback percentage whereby the longer the machine is played, the more confident the casino should be that the results will be in line with the expected payback percentage. So, as an imaginary example, after 10,000 pulls the machine might be within 25% of the theoretical payback, after 100,000 pulls within 12%, after 500,000 pulls within 6% and after 2,000,000 pulls within 1%. Each slot machine has a PAR sheet which gives a detailed analysis of this information to the casino. I read a lot of casino industry publications and of the best articles I have read that explains the math for slot machines, can be found here - www.indiangaming.com/istore/Dec15_Ashley.pdf To further explain how probability is used to control the payback percentage, think of a bowl with 10 balls.

      Play online. You will win. The slot has a phenomena. It eats the cash or the bet which you stake at first, then it will randomly pay you the bonus or the free spin. Bet the minimum. Don't bet the maximum because the difference between the stake or bet and the winning in bonus free spins will be much to great to achieve surplus in profit winnings. The most difficult part in slot is to understand the compatibility of the game. It comes by experience. You will never achieve this in a physical casino.

    Can anything be gleaned from the proliferation of slot machine videos on RUclips? These would be the videos where players are recording their slot play in realtime; a lot with seamless recording involved. Also, some slot machines, say a $5 three reel mechanical slot, may have a 'progressive' bonus for max bet when the predesignated combination of symbols turns up on the payline. Does the Random Number Generator (RNG) 'randomly' select this combination to not come up? I realize that just because I have never personally seen a $5 Wheel of Fortune Progressive ($10 a spin) pay out the $100,000 jackpot does not mean that it hasn't happened. Also, casinos like to publicize these large jackpots to stimulate interest and there's been a dearth of pictures of smiling people holding large, colorful representative checks for advertisement purposes from my local casino.
