yeah im really happy they did. like back in sonic 3 when i fighted the boss big arms. and when sonic 3 and knuckles came out i was hyped and like cool its sonic 3 and knuckles 14 zones. i was at zone 6 thinking i,ll fight big arms and nope you don.t fight him. you just go to mashroom hill. now in this game sonic origins they did it!!!. they put him in zone 6 and then you go to mashroom hill. i love this game. only thing i just did not like was they changed the music for ice cap. that was m favorite track

That barrel was the bane of my existence, I only ever discovered the answer by accident. I threw the controller in a fit of rage and walked out. I returned and for a split second my cat stood on the controller, I witnessed a slight movement on the screen after he pressed up. It took me a short while to figure it out, and I became a legend among my friends who were also stumped by it. I would go to their house and they would witness me beating the barrel, but I never showed them how it was done, I would put the controller behind my back and watch them try and figure it out. I was an evil little sh!t 😂
17:30 this section is better in the sonic 3 A.I.R. version since those bombs can actually land in front of the player at full speed and you would have to jump to avoid them.
It's not "better", it's just harder. Y'know, the original is supposed to be a cutscene, and the AIR version only adds a bit of challenge but nothing "better".

Copyright problems. Michael Jackson helped make Carnival Night's and Launch Base's music, while a member from a band called the Jetzons made Ice Cap's music. (Ice Cap sounds very similar to one of their initially unreleased songs, Hard Times) SEGA would - presumably - have to pay both of them to use those songs in this remake. The music they replaced them with in Origins were the songs that were intended to be originally used before those two got involved, as revealed in an early prototype leak of the game. Before that, the prototype tracks were first used in an early PC port for the game - Sonic & Knuckles Collection - albeit in midi quality.

Has anyone found out a way to replay levels in story mode? (Not the retry mode in the data and rankings section). I want to replay the S3&K levels with hyper sonic, but I did it in story mode and it's a separate game save than the S3&K anniversary mode. Everytime I hit continue in story mode it only let's me play the Doomsday Zone. I'm really hoping I don't have to go back and replay the whole thing in anniversary mode just to be able to play the levels with the emeralds unlocked like in the original game. If this is the case than Sega really forgot that people would want that feature after beating story mode and spending all that time to unlock everything.

Those of you who say “Play Sonic 3 AIR” or “This remaster sucks” really need to get your priorities straight.. as an official release, this more than gets the job done and it’s fantastic despite the minor bugs Also you have to realize that AIR and other fan made games don’t have any restrictions and deadlines to deal with while Headcannon has to cater to SEGA’s visions of the game.. yes AIR has more customization but it also has its own flaws. Headcannon did a fantastic job and Origins Sonic 3 is the definitive official way to play the game

@@jaywarudo actually the origins tracks are just bad versions of the Sonic 3 PC version's MIDI arrangements of the prototype songs. The PC MIDI files were pretty poorly remixed to sound like mega drive songs, and that's why they sound bad. You'll get mu point when you go listen to the MIDI tracks.

The issue is that he seems to have absolutely no feel for the instrumentation anymore, that's why they stick out like a sore thumb. the original beta tunes didn't need enhancement anyway.

The new music is just missing something. There's an energy that was in the originals that's just not present here.
There was a lot of energy in the OG 1993 prototype tracks, and sadly these newer themes based on them are missing that.

I think sega only meant hyper sonic is non canon and not the rest of the game. Even then, just DON'T collect the super emeralds in the combined version, it's that simple.

People complaining about the OST being the worst and I'm just sitting here happy the PC version OST has a non MIDI version I can enjoy now.
They already had non MIDI versions of the songs in the Sonic 3 prototype version and those ones sounded much better than these new remixes.
@@ducksareurlords3782"New!??" Well, my guy, do i have some news for you. The "new" versions of the proto tracks are actually older then the ones in the prototype. The prototype verisons are in a more finished state, and were made after the orgins ones. Hence why they sound way better.
@@jaywarudo actually the origins tracks are just bad versions of the Sonic 3 PC version's MIDI arrangements of the prototype songs. The PC MIDI files were pretty poorly remixed to sound like mega drive songs, and that's why they sound bad. You'll get mu point when you go listen to the MIDI tracks.

They're older versions of the prototype tracks. The pc version, tried to recreate them with the midi soundfont. And now, many years later. They're being reused in Orgins.

No idea. The sound effects are way too loud. Ugh, they should've gotten someone to remaster the soundtrack like they did with the s1 & s2 mobile ports. But wait, G Spindash already did. But of course, getting a fan on the staff is unheard of, but wait again! They've done that. Three times.

I understand why they couldn't have the S3 music, but damn, the new music sounds bland and uninspired. It doesn't sound like Sonic music if you listen to the music from every other 2D Sonic game. I want this game but it's looking like its a Steam buy with mods.
The "new music" is actually the real original music from the prototype version just downgraded to sound like shit.

The Carnival Night music is hard to listen to. It sounds like someone came up with it using Fruity Loops.
This is the trash ass MIDI version of the Carnival night song. The original, mega drive version is better than this midi version and the final Sonic 3
@@quanthebronxny3996 Jun Sinoue was actually using the game's original Genesis soundfont to "enhance" the quality. The issue is that he seems to have absolutely no feel for the instrumentation anymore, that's why they stick out like a sore thumb. the original beta tunes didn't need enhancement anyway.
@@IkesDaddelbox exactly the November 1993 tracks needed very little change, maybe add some more effects but other than that they were fine, the only track that needed work was ice cap which sounded nearly identical to Crystal egg zone from sonic 2 8-bit and definitely stuck out compared to the rest imo.
