- Here's the secret zone in Sonic Origins. Hidden Palace Zone can be accessed from a secret entrance in Mystic Cave Zone Act 2. This was recorded at 1080p & 60fps on a Nintendo Switch.

Sega should put the Original version in this Collection not the 2011 remake thank you for Pointing that out.
I really like Hidden Palace Zone. It's too bad they couldn't have had Wood Zone as another hidden zone with its own original boss. I'm sure happy to see more videos like this.
Yknow, Mystic Cave's spike pit really was the best place to put the entry to this hidden palace... Maybe that's what was so mystical about them. I like the fact that this island also has a hidden palace, and that it's located under a cave vs inside a volcano. Fresh idea for an unused zone.
Crying shame they didn't use the track for Sonic 2's Hidden Palace Zone for this zone. Would've completed the circle.
@@SorenDaein They did. Track 10 was never meant to be level music. Hidden Palace was always going use MCZ2P's theme.

According to the Nick Arcade Beta ROM and concept art for Sonic 2, this _was_ the original track.
That track that you are referring to, track 10, was power up music (it loops quickly) this was the original track.

When I first played the mobile sonic 2, I accidentally fell in the hole, and thought I would die, but I didn't and was shocked to find a "secret" zone, and now when I try to make it to the Mystic Cave zone boss, I end up falling down the hole on accident all the time.
I remember when I first played it in the Simon Wai beta. Glad to have it now whith that same music. The other music doesnt really fit the mood.
I didn’t see that zone when I played _Sonic the Hedgehog 2_ in _Sonic Classic Collection_ on the Nintendo DS. I didn’t even see it when I already finished the game just on _Sonic Origins._ Is this something new for the game?
It is, this was unused in the original game i think due to time and in the mobile version and this one, they added it back.

Sonic Classic Collection doesn’t include this, if you fall into that pit, all you find is a bed of spikes
The DS collection is the games as they were released on Genesis, origins is based on the updated, wide-screen, IOS ports

For some dumb reason, I fell down the pit, and it's easy to avoid the mistake if I'm paying attention, and I was surprised to find the Hidden Palace Zone. After finding Hidden Palace Zone, it made me wonder if the other unused zones are hidden. There are other unused zones besides Hidden Palace Zone.

It was just a theory,the protypes used the MCZ2P theme like this version.
Are you referring to Mystic Cave Zone or Sand Shower Zone? Dust Hill Zone is often mistaken for being the name of the desert zone. Sand Shower Zone's music was probably the track used for Oil Ocean Zone in the final.
Nearly 10 years later and they *still* couldn't be bothered to use the right music track for this stage...
and yes, this is the *wrong* music track. Accessing Hidden Palace in the retail game plays track 10, proving that it was, indeed, meant to be used there. Not only does Mystic Cave's 2 player music completely destroy the level's atmosphere, but it was used in the prototype *as a placeholder.* Are we going to start saying that Spring Yard Zone's music was meant to be used in Emerald Hill Zone just because that's what was used in the prototype?

There is no Hidden Palace in the retail version. There is a dummied out mess that the average Joe wasn't meant to access. Track 10 is not level music. Both the Simon Wai proto and the 2013/Origins use Mystic Cave 2P proving it to be Hidden Palace's rightful theme.
The Nick Arcade prototype is a different beast from the other prototypes. It's a very early build when Sonic 2 was being built from Sonic 1. Don't be disingenuous.
@@andrewtuell1991 Whether or not the level is accessible by "the average Joe" or how much of the level is left is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that Hidden Palace Zone *is* in the retail version if Sonic 2, and when accessing it, *track 10 plays.* This proves that track 10 was, indeed, meant for Hidden Palace Zone.
Also, *the Simon Wai prototype uses placeholder music as well.* Should we be saying that Oil Ocean Zone should be using Casino Night's 2P music? Because that's what was used in the Simon Wai prototype.
Finally, the 2013 mobile version and its respective port in Origins *is the exact target of my criticism.* You're seriously trying to point to those ports (which were made decades after the fact by people who had nothing to do with the original Sonic Team), and acting as if they prove Mystic Cave 2P was meant to be used there all along?...and you call *me* disingenuous?
@@L_A_R_G Track 10 isn't even level music. It was for a cutscene shown by Masa demo ending instead of looping. Hidden Palace went from being just another 2 act zone to a 1 act level after collecting the Chaos Emeralds to unlock Super Sonic. The cutscene would've been for Sonic's first Super transformation.
Casino Night 2P would've been Oil Ocean's theme and Oil Ocean's final theme would've been for the scrapped desert level Sand Showers Zone. This has been known for years.
Sega had the final say in any changes Taxman and Stealth made to the games. Even if most of the old crew is gone they'd still have documents and designs sheets lying around. Sega shot down Dazzle Desert and Egg Gauntlet because they were weren't originally intended for their respective games. Sega OKed Track 03 over Track 10 because that would've been the music had the level been completed.

Is it me or is the "Tails Only Life Box" missing?
The Tails monitor was only there in most of the prototypes because the stage hadn't been worked on since it was first implemented and the IDs for the life monitors were changed, so a Sonic monitor from the first game would become a Tails monitor.

Why Does this Collection have the 2011 remake Instead of the Original version on the Sega Genesis why sega.

You’re seriously complaining that the remakes were rereleased for the first time over the Genesis versions that got rereleased at least 20 times?
If you dont like it you can play the original version in the collaction or play from a dìfrent place there are tons of places that have the original stop being a whiny baby!
Go buy the Genesis collection or SEGA Ages if you want the original rom
