The reason there was 87k for a Geelong home game at the MCG was because of the time slot. Geelong people can get home before 10. Where as if it’s a game that starts after 7, we get home 1am. Lots more people can come including kids.
Majority of those 87k were Blues. 🙂
@@DannyAzhar89 I don’t know about that. You barely filled marvel to 72% at the same day and time slot. Big factor to the number was the time it was set for Geelong fans to be able to get to the game.
@@cory5546 generally fans prefer going to the ‘G as compared to Marvel. Easy to get to, more restaurants, pubs etc.
@@DannyAzhar89 both of Geelong’s marvel games last year had similar capacity with 71% and 74%. We are travelling from Geelong mainly yet still had similar crowds. I admit there was more Carlton than Geelong fans at the G (why wouldn’t there be when in Melbourne), but the biggest factor contributing to it being Geelong’s biggest home and away crowd was the time slot. You put that game at 7:30, you don’t get past 70k. Last year round 2 (Carlton home game) didn’t even get past 60K.
@@cory5546 we were not the team then that we are now - membership is now 100k - all fans are storming to the games this year so far!
Pretty sure Caleb Daniel swung max gawn in the grand final or one of the home and away games , smallest guy in the afl swings the biggest 😂
Unbelievably happy with himself is Max, even for an AFL player and that’s saying something.
