How to Forge a Fire Tripod for Camp Cooking and a Dutch Oven Lid Lifter

- Hey everyone! My wife has been asking for a tripod for cooking over a fire or coals, so today I'm forging a set out of 1/2" rebar. This is the first tripod I've forged and I think it came out pretty good. The legs lock surprisingly well and this one is a lot sturdier than some of the commercial ones we've been looking at.
Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Great video!!! Loved it!! One thing you could do to make the lid lifter better is bend it to a 75° angle so you don't have to be so close to the fire and then just adjust the taper that lifts the lid!!! But great video keep it up!!
that cooking looks really good

Hey nick did you do a blacksmith course or did you just teach yourself? AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
Cool vid Nick. Wondering if propane would be a cheaper option than using charcoal. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Cool video. I too would like to see how you made the tongs.
Wow. Great job. Do you have any videos on making a homeade forge?
Nice job Nick. Are you gonna have any in your etsy store? I could use a nice tripod for my dutch oven. Keep up the good work.
Hi Nick, can you make a Roach Belly style knife like frontiers men use in Colonial America. It can be great either stick tang and full tang blade.
Very interesting! Did you make the fire pan? Is there a video on that?
You should make a traditional trammel hook so the height of the pot can be easily adjusted without having to remove or add chain links.
nice one
Was there a reason you didn't weld the ring together?
Nick, are you designing these projects yourself, or are your referencing other project tutorials?
I am also getting into cast iron cooking. Get her a griswold. Best iron ever made that lodge is junk. The new stargazer looks to be a great skillet too.
good job
Thank you!
How did you make your forge

0_ô (oh ! And hello from France dude)
If you are cooking and your tripod is on brick. Id reccomend adding an anti kick chain on the base

Is that a Weber Smokey Joe as your fire bowl?

Do u sell the tri-pods?
