  • This documentary is about the devotion of the Peruvian people in Italy to the Crucified Christ, called the Lord of Miracles.
The veneration of the crucified Christ, then called the Lord of Miracles, originated in 1651 on the outskirts of the "City of Kings", as Lima was known during the Viceroyalty of Peru.
Today, the image - painted by an Angolan slave - is venerated during October, in countries where there is a community of Peruvian immigrants who have formed the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles. The Brotherhood of Rome is considered the most important abroad, for both its presence in the Eternal City and its proximity to the successor of St. Peter’s.
The objective is to narrate the sense that such devotion has to the Peruvian people, according to the description and lived by their protagonists. Therefore, the characteristics of the religious festival, its different moments and the social and symbolic importance of such an event for the community of Peruvian immigrants in Rome are presented.
