  • A real quick and dirty review. There's a hurricane on the way. Have put 17 hours on this mower and so far so good. She's never let me down and cuts the lawn perfectly. I would recommend doing your research. I did many days and decided on this lawn tractor. If you go Kohler definitely get the V-twin as I hear the single cylinder, at least the older ones had issues. Plus more power is good, especially if you have hills. I highly recommend this mower. Haven't had one single problem and I cut once a week. Cheers!

    i BOUGHT MY FIRST CUB CADET AND IT HAD A GLOVE COMPARTMENT ON THE WHEEL WELL AND 4 DECK WHEELS AND A NICE CLOTH SEAT .I also took off the blades and put on mulching blades . I have a video on here of my v twin 42 inch cub cadet mower . I am now going to buy the 46 inch cub cadet mower shame the got rd of the glove box it has a nice lid that you can close .I have had to replace the pulleys , deck belt and drive belt and the deck engagement cable on it . I change the oil and oil filter and gas filter 2 times a year because of my long mowing season here in VA .Best investment is the mulching blades and learned a long time ago to drill a hole in the deck shoot and put a wire in the hole so i can wire it up as it keeps the grass from clogging up the shoot and sticking to the underside of the mower . deck wash kit with mine was a waste of time but do like the bumper it came with

    Pretty sure the manual says not to hose the mower off, can cause problems. I use a leaf blower for the bulk cleaning and a cloth to wipe it down. Works good.

      you are spot on. i used a power washer on my older mowers. water was forced into idler pulley bearings and spindle bearings. i own a new cc lt46. now i only use compressed air. like yourself just a bucket and wet cloth to wipe it down. and yes it works good. no more problems. bought a nice cover for it.

    I wash the deck and attach the hose to deck water connector after cutting wet grass other wise I just use a leaf blower.

    my 23hp kohler has so much power i was cutting at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. when i had the hood up looking at 10 ft away. the engine looks like a beast compared to the mower size. my old mower is a husky 42 in and only had a 17hp kohler with plenty of power. a new 42 troy built was $2000. the cub lt46 was only 2600. way better deal and product.

    Hey man just in case if you didn’t know you are supposed to cut grass with the engine idling all the way up. (or almost) The engine doesn’t cool very well at low idle and the deck can get clogged more easily because the blades are not spinning fast enough. But hope ur enjoying that mower like I am lol

      @Mc88Flyy  2 года назад +2

      Yeah I’m bad about cutting while at half throttle, it cuts so well, so it’s really the mowers fault 😅…definitely still liking it, cut the first time this season yesterday and it did really well. 20+ hours so far. Need to get a grease gun and hit all the nipples. Glad you’re enjoying it as well!

      The cut isn’t as good either. Full rev/throttle is good but less basically “chews” the grass instead of cutting it.

      Yeah the stock bulbs aren’t great plus they tend to get fogged up, the seal probably isn’t the best. I’ve had no issues at all though, definitely like it.

    Do the deck spindles have grease fittings? I can’t find them.

    How is the hood removed ? Pins or bolts and nuts ?

  • @Mr91495osh
    @Mr91495osh Год назад

    Two issues: nowhere in the manual does it mention tire pressures or grease fittings on the deck spindles. The only grease fittings mentioned in the manual or on RUclips are on the front wheels and front axles. Replacement spindle parts on AMAZON have fittings.

    • @GrandT
      @GrandT 2 месяца назад +1

      For my 50" XT1 it mentions tire pressure. It says to check the pressure before first use since they're usually over-inflated, and that the correct pressures are on the tires themselves (which they were). Rears for mine should be 10psi (they were 30), fronts 14psi (but were around the 25 mark). I don't think default spindles come with zerk fittings, as you said, non-OEM can.

      I can’t really comment on JD. But so far I’ve got 50 hours on my Cub and it’s actually been rock solid. I didn’t trickle charge the battery over the winter so it needs replacing soon. Times to do an oil change. Really no faults. I bought a bagger for it as well. No complaints.

      @mikelopez4148 definitely cuts good. If I had to find a problem, the deck wheels were set too low and I scalped my grass a bit at first. Raised them up and fixed the issue.

    Well I have the same one I've had it now a little over the over a week here's my complaint when I went to cut the grass the mowers cold does not want to start after about five minutes of tinkering with it finally I get it started now you're talkin a brand new machine so I go ahead and cut the grass all good in that department time to cut the grass again a week later does not want to start again at this point I am pissed off now I told my wife I didn't spend $2,500 plus tax to have them lower that does not want to start I just not going to play with that BS call Home Depot they are coming to pick up is a riding mower I'm undecided do I want to get a refund or take a chance with another xt1 lt46 don't get me wrong it's a nice mower I mean but come on this is brand-spanking-new what's not even 2 hours or running time come on Cub Cadet can you get this thing right this is why I stayed the hell away from American-made products when I can I really hate to say that I really do not like the feature with the throttle into choke all-in-one I think that is a very bad design and it doesn't work summertime here in Florida there's no need to choke an engine anyway this not starting thing is really pissing me off we don't by brand new mowers to have to Tinker with starting it

    • @Mc88Flyy

      I’m south Alabama and I still have to use the choke. Anything that sits for a week or two will need a choke. You might have just gotten a bad mower. I’m closing in on 50 hours on mine and it’s never missed a beat.
