    The mow in reverse is a 1 and done every time you mow. With John Deere, you have to either push a button or hold the PTO up

    • @jackofalltrades7822
      @jackofalltrades7822  2 года назад

      Unless you get off the seat to move a trampoline, toy, rock and anything else. Then you have to do the process again. My Deere was a push button that had to be pushed every time you engage reverse.

      That was one more thing which helped me decide on a Cub rather than a JD.

    I bought this recently and I never once thought about the snow blower attachment. Right now I'm paying a neighbor (I live in Maine) and he does a great job but wondering if I can take on the task myself this year if I get the blower. Was wondering what you thought, my driveway is not paved, its gravel/dirt and is about 250 yards long, with maybe 25 total feet of incline.
    Is this actually an option? Not sure if it can handle the length, heavy snow and incline. Any thoughts on this I would appreciate it. Thanks

    I was just wondering isn't CubCadet owned by MTD? All in all a very informative presentation I really was impressed with the snow blower and I could see how it would hinder refuling and engine maintenance. Plus I was thinking about the oil drain you came up with a good solution it sounds better than my solution to use a rubber drain plug that when you turn the nob it expands and contracts it worked on my Escoort station wagon that I bought used it had a stripped out drain plug.

      Thanks for watching. Yes, the same company makes Cub, MTD & a couple others.
      I can’t take full credit on the drain. I saw a similar solution by someone else and gave it my own twist.
      Thanks again for watching.

    Just an idea. With the snow blower mounting trouble. Just buy another mower and have one for grass and one for snow.

    Great mower for the price point. I like john Deere's more expensive line of mowers,but their 100 series is a little overpriced for what you get. Cub cadet is a good bang for your buck whether you buy the cheaper ones or the bigger garden tractor style ones the perform good and cost a good bit less than a deere.

    That constant seep with that oil drain is more likely where the metal drain plug was not machined properly.

    • @jackofalltrades7822

      I had replaced it and the same problem.
      The dealer tells me it is a constant issue because of the o-ring.

    • @ciphercode2298
      @ciphercode2298 2 года назад

      Without any dealer support anymore I'd shy away from craftsman power equipment. John deere and cub cadet both have good dealer networks and give good service after the sale. With craftsman you're just paying for the name. You can certainly order parts and shops will work on them,but the grass will be growing while ya wait. Most reputable dealers keep a good stock of service parts.

    I have same mower only issue is that reverse is so slow

    • @jackofalltrades7822
      @jackofalltrades7822  2 года назад

      It is a little slow but I found that if you really mash down on the reverse pedal a few times it got better. Almost like it was sticking and just needed to be loosened up.

    • @ciphercode2298
      @ciphercode2298 Год назад +1

      Check on the inside of the frame rail for built up grass. Where the foot pedal pivot to actuate the rods going to the transmission is a bad spot for debris buildup and can prevent full pedal movement.
