- Redondo Beach is one of the three Beach Cities in Los Angeles County, California, located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area, just 8 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Originally built in 1889, Redondo’s historical Wharf 1 was the first of Redondo’s era of piers, wharfs, and harbors. The Pier is a South Bay landmark offering oceanfront dining, shopping and entertainment. The current seventh generation horseshoe-shaped pier is known for its 70,000 square-feet of open space and as the largest “endless” pier on the California coast.
Redondo Beach offers panoramic ocean and coastline views and over 50 dining, entertainment and retail establishments along the Pier, neighboring International Boardwalk, and Redondo Marina. The Pier is within walking distance to beautiful, friendly, seaside accommodations for every budget. Walk to The Esplanade, one of the most scenic stretches of beach in the world, offering a variety of land and water activities from biking, jogging, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, swimming and scuba diving, to boating, sport fishing and more!

Redondo is packed with non locals and transplants. Hermosa is looking like ghetto Venice Beach now. Born and raised here. We're being invaded and most of us hate it 👎 The voices in this video aren't even speaking ENGLISH 😵

I'm over 3,000 miles from home and have lived abroad but this is still my favorite place in the whole world.
Childhood memories of waking up super early and arriving to a chilly morning, ordering a piping hot bread bowl of chowder. No better feeling in this world hands down.
I lived in Hollywood for 5 years and enjoyed LA beaches. I'm now in Virginia Beach and can honestly say nothing compares to the Pacific coast. I miss LA and have wonderful memories. Thanks for bringing it all back to me.💓

I was in Southern Califorina....for 6 days. But I still miss it. It was amazing. Coming from Indiana...the place was like some kind of magical alien world.

I used to go here a lot when I was kid even at the arcade.
I used to ride my bike or skateboard all through here, from PV down to Hermosa and back, in the 1970's/80's. It's such a beautiful place, kind of makes me heartsick to go back again. Your video is beautiful, thank you, some of my best memories are here. Really sad to see the arcade gone, but times change, and the ocean is as beautiful as ever. Your video inspires me to go back, thanks!

a true king harbor
I was born in Hawthorne and grew up here in Redondo from about 1948 to 1960. I graduated from Redondo High in 1959 and went in the service in 1960. It was a lot different back then. I set pins in a ten lane bowling ally that was right by the pier. Of course this is nothing like what I remember 70 years ago but it was fun taking a stroll down memory lane. Thanks for sharing, from a sub.

lol this place is my childhood i grew up in El Segundo and every weekend in the summer we'd ride our bikes to the pier and eat at Zeppy's Pizza (since gone unfortunately after burning down)

Aahh! I haven't been there for years!I see Tony's is Old Tony's now & Tony's Fish market restaraunt is gone,they had the best steamers/broth/bread & Mai Tais,I still have the glasses! Naja's on the other end near the slips,still there,they have the largest variety of Beer to be found & Their Baba Ganoush & Kebabbi are The best! The Arcade looks to be gone or closed,Times have changed,still a nice place to visit,Thanks for the Tour!!!

Everyone in the summer comes from inland to chill at the beaches in Redondo. A very beautiful beach city in South Bay area Los Angeles. We will have those days again but for now we must avoid the viscious virus.

Once again, proves why this is the best walking tour channel on RUclips. Superb quality, no talking to ruin it, great paths and views, and once again, beautiful 4k video with awesome sound. You can just put these videos on a second monitor and have them play all night as you work or play on your computer. Never been to this beach. Looks great even during covid. I love Long Beach pier. Curious to see what they do to improve this now that the city just settled some $2M lawsuit to regain the waterfront. I love that middle area with the picnic tables. Like something you’d see in europe for a town square market place to gather…
In Philippines, most of the beaches there are private you need to pay first before you taste the beautiful of nature and water

Learn to surf there in the early 70's and when the fire hit in the 80's it was bad cattlemens and a lot of restaurants were gone in a couple of hour's . Redondo didn't have the money and insurance for restarants and shops wasn't enough . The city did what it could it's nice but not like it use to be
