Victoria got to shine on Forever album. Which I think is actually a perfect album that want marketed correctly. It’s r&b/pop not Britpop like their first two albums.

Everyone else seemed to know that they were in a pop group and acted accordingly. Geri knew she was in a pop group but pretended their message of girl power was like a free gender studies course being offered to Millions around the world each time one of their singles played on the radio. Sad thing is, in my opinion, they never push the needle forward on any real women's rights issues.

Geri's contribution to the group was more, in true Leo form, about business decisions, marketing strategies, and the occasional songwriting... but that was about it, I feel. She's said a lot of times that part of why she left the group was because she didn't feel needed anymore, and I do believe there's truth to that: they had achieved everything there was to achieve, so where did she stand with the rest of the girls, artistically speaking? She's since apologized for it and all then, but still. True, before them there was TLC, but SG came out at a time when TLC was going through their in-group turmoil; so here was the British, predominantly white, unabashedly pop counterpart; naturally, the general public lapped them up.

Victoria's singing voice are so soothing - it is like cello. I can see why her marriage to David Beckham lasting to this day... She is charming in her own way and do not like to outshine others. Maybe she just respect and obey on what the producer's wanting. Girl can sing and hold note! Actually her voice is unique as it bear funkiness, contemporary and goes perfectly well with avant-garde song like the one she did with True Stepper. That is one of the example. It is perfect blend for entire Spice Girls' discography
Better singers than I thought they were. They definitely had something. Ashley Crystal, Little Mix have other girl groups that they've been able to copy e.g. Destiny's Child. Spice Girls were the original girl group that set the precedent for a lot of future girl groups... well Eternal and Bananarama were before them but weren't as big. Spice Girls were definitely more original than Little Mix too, and that's partly why they were so popular.

That's quite true! Emma is supposed to sing the high notes with Melanie C, and Victoria sings low with Mel B, but Vic can do the higher notes okay (listen to tracks on the Forever album). I don't think I can ever hear Emma singing in a lower register.
Right. So Geri could barely be heard here but I think it's because her parts were main melody, which she shared with at least three other girls. If they had sung "2 Become 1" or "If You Can't Dance" here, we'd hear her loud and clear.
victoria is my least favorite but I do know she had a great voice back in the early touch-spice days. When it comes to touch she had more solos, then with spice...u know what happened. Such a shame she didnt show off her voice...nevertheless she is the richest! lmao

It shows to me how important harmonies are. The Spice Girls had a special harmony to me and when I first heard "Who do you think you are" on the radio I was like "Wait, that's the Spice Girls!??" bc this song was so different but I heard their harmonies and knew it was them. I really enjoyed the acapella version of "One of these Girls" that was the "B-Side" of "2become1" (my first ever CD I brought). I really enjoyed their drive, harmony and Mel B's deep vibe!
This was great! I was like 10 when they were out my sister of course loved them I didn't know they could do this though because the industry sound of them made them sound like basic but they can sing. Sound better then a lot of people

Vic is low note, not really in the middle (though she does decently with mid-high notes). Geri is more in the middle, leaning more on low note. Ginger has a really heavy voice, but she can't bring it doww low into alto/bass range, nor can she stretch it to higher pitches. Her range is unimpressive compared with Victoria and the other girls, and she really isn't that great.
its pretty obvious geri is not singing in this vid. she was really unconfident at the beginning with harmonies so i guess she just didnt sing. :( all there voices are perfect here, they were jsut gonna release wannabe - even victoria sounds pitch perfect. they should of kept up the vocal training.
