We were literally children when were singing this aloud! And we had no idea what were singing about! 😂! I'm 34.

You were 40 then, and I’m 40 now, still loving this song ♥️
Same here
I'm 32 now. Was only 6 back then (as a 1991 kid).
Loved them then, and love them now. Spice Girls are eternal ♥
I am 43.
Nearly four years younger than I am, right now! Time is weird, or rather, "the perception of time". As of right now 2024 everything is $hit, and ten years ago it was the same! But in 97 the $hit was completely different than in 92! Smaller increments of time held more drastic style changes back in the day.
Im 33 now.
God i miss the 90's

Don't forget All Saints.
Im 31 now.
God i miss the 90's,too. :)

There are certain 90’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
the intro! i can almost smell the 90s!
I know that pain 😓
I was having the exact same feeling! Makes me feel better that I am not alone with it!
I strongly concur. I always have mixed emotions when listening to this song!
Absolutely. It doesn't help that it came out at Christmas, one of the happiest times of a child's life. I used to listen a few years after it came out as a teen and my stomach would literally drop with nostalgia
The song is simply magic. It drags you down a memory lane and makes you wanna stay there!
Me gustó lo que dices así " y te hace querer quedarte allí"🤗
It really truly does
Wow how'd you get so many upvotes for your comment? Damn people lol you're discriminating me for no reason 😞.
Definitely it takes me bk to my child hood miss them days
@@annyablonski5003 I concur 💯! That era is magical
In the year 2024, and the music of today does not even scratch the surface when it comes to the 90s era of music. 90s era of music was the best of all genres hands down. From the Spice girls to Limp Bizkit, Chevelle, Stone temple pilots, Jewl, Dru hill, MJ 2pac, Snoop and Dre, Wu-Tang, Sublime, Cheryl Crow maaaan this list goes on. I miss this era so much...😢
It feels like I just blinked and now I’m 32 😱...I remember when this song came out so clearly .....please kids enjoy your youth it goes in a second 💕
same here 32, and remember it so clear when it came out....could actually cry
I guess that's why they say "youth is wasted on the young"

I was 13, singing the song without really understood the meaning, but it's calming
Sporty Spice was my crush as a kid growing up in the 90s. My heart melted every time i see her.
I was 10 when this came out and i still get the same cathartic, emotional reaction to hearing it everytime I hear it. It absolutely hasn't aged a day. if anything...it gets more powerful over time.
I was 9 and I massively concur with what you say 😂🤣

Same. It's always one of the most special songs from the Spice Girls. 💙

A song that last forever, the beginning is awesome!
this song is proof that a song about sex can be classy
Heck you could interpret it as just becoming girlfriend/boyfriend
This, and Afternoon Delight are both living proof of that. Ha ha ha.
@@witherblaze not when Emma says "Be a little bit wiser baby. Put it on...put it on" that cements this song as a sex song.

I was only 6 years old when I first heard about the Spice Girls back in 1997. I became a massive fan, alongside my brother and some of my closest friends. Even my mom loved them. As I grew up, I started to point out what made them so great and successful in technical terms, with a critic adult input. And my god... The harmony these girls had was INSANE. Not a single one stood higher or lower than the other. They were equally important. Each one with a specific voice tone, a specific gimmick, a trademark look. (Mel C always my favorite btw). Yes, they're great looking. Super great looking. But it's more of that lost art of being sexy without being vulgar. You can feel the energy, the character, the true talent before anything else. And it's contagious. And they have imprinted that amazing mid-to-late 90s feels forever in our hearts. I always come back to their songs to remember the great childhood that I had. Forever in debt. Girl Power!!
Honestly, this music video is still iconic.
The string arrangement is so gorgeous. Strings are so underused and so underrated.
As a violin player, I'd have to agree! 🎻
Just go watch a scary movie. Strings abound.
I fucking love strings!
Yes!
@@anelisamorgan8590 so jealous! I’ve always wanted to learn the violin.
I know this has been said like a million times, but the saying "RUclips is the closest thing is the closest thing we have to a time machine", couldn't be anymore true. I wanna go back to my childhood where I can just listen to this song on a stereo, radio or Walkman and not worry or care about anything else in the world 💜
Oh ,I can relate with you.♥️
Yes please 😥
Same. 😥
With how things are anymore and because of how great music WAS like this and much more, it couldn't be more true! I was one of those Walkman carrying people then! Miss all this so much and thank God we still have all this on here!

Was never a fan of Spice Girls, but this song for some reason really struck a chord with me and has stayed in my memory for what is now almost 30 years. Similarly, Madonna's Take A Bow had the same effect. Something about ballads sung by people better known for catchy pop tunes really resonates with me.
The Spice Girls were awesome man!!
Same 👍🏽
incredible songwriting by everyone involved! top performers of their time the entire team what an impact they had
I would give up anything to travel back in time! 1997 I was 6 years old, just introduced to MTV with parental control, teenage siblings, boy bands like backstreet boys, NSYNC, 98 Degrees! Great outdoor life, amazing movies, simple needs like food and nice clothes, instead of fake gadgets and fake social media lives. Life was simple but yet so much to look forward for! and now! AGH! LOVE.. I am 24 now and this song is GOLD for me!!!!
Signs of old times. I am 24 and I would give an arm and a leg to travel back then when life is simple. Wheh happiness was immense and pain was superficial. I miss these kind of songs. Boy bands were so common back then. Music were great. I feel you!
Yes !!! For real music was awesome n yes outdoor life was all we did now everyone is def on phones n Blah we use enjoy being outside and actually interacting with kids :(
Emelia Feliz I'm 29 and I feel the need to go back even more.
Haneen Sheikh I am a 90s baby/kid born in '94 and i couldn't agree more! why was life better in the 90s & early '00s? the music was amazing and i miss having iconic girl groups and boy bands. there was no distractions of social media and how many "likes" you're getting on instagram. Great TV shows and movies. as technology advances everything becomes more fake. everything sucks now. :(
Haneen Sheikh Agree! All the 80s and early 90s born kids will definitely feel the same
The strings during the intro is just so beautiful, it will always give me goosebumps. It takes me back to Christmas, being a child and carefree. I will ALWAYS love the Spice Girls ❤
Agreed! And I love the strings on the outro too. They sound so deep and warm, like a cozy blanket.

I’m 18 and because of my older sister who’s now 30 used to be obsessed with the spice girls. I’m glad she had such good taste in music and forced me to always listen to them on her cd player, also forcing me to watch the movie back to back when i was younger. growing up now im honestly blessed i was able to say i grew up listening to them regardless if i was unfortunately not thought of in the 90s. Scrolling through the comments i love seeing everyone who actually grew up listening to them back then and feeling nostalgic. i yearn for 90s/2000s pop culture, i hate that i was born in the wrong era bcus i missed out on that REAL music, not just music for streams and number 1s.
Great share. same here - I feel like the music industry has been hacked. This song has so much soul and substance. it's like a lost treasure. listing/watching just nourishing my heart and soul. timeless piece of art.
This song and video aesthetically pleasing, make me miss how nostalgic and eclectic the 90’s were.
And the old Americans miss the 60's with the beautiful classic cars and Elvis but that's the way it is. If you ask the young ones now after 20 years how it was during 2020 they'll say it was amazing cause everyone loves their childhood no matter dark times or not except maybe during the World Wars.
@Lachry Matory You're right but its pathetic for us not for them. One day in the distant future they'll say: "I was fighting for LGBT community and earned rights and it was great". That's their way of thinking and they're proud with it!

Nobody wants to admit the Girls had more talent they were given credit for. The harmonies blend in seamlessly. Ballads are a good indicator of an artist, and I'd say they pass with flying colors.
Nowadays you could go months on the radio and not find something this romantic. Today's music is more about who can shock the most.

I have never had an emotional reaction as strong as I had to this. I remember the first time I saw the video and heard the song, just before Christmas, one of the best times of my life. Then when I rewatched it in 2001 after taping a 90s show, my stomach dropped, it really did. I could feel exactly how I felt then. I was clearly feeling the happiest days of my life
I know what you mean, it makes me tear up a little.

I'm 42, and the girl I was with when this came out, put this song on for our first time. Memories.
It’s funny cause I know like three couples back in the day who said the same thing lol
I’m 29 turning 30 in 6 months. I’m really nostalgic. Lately I’ve been being emotional about letting my youth go, probably coz I’m turning 30 soon. I’m in denial about getting older and it hurts. And listening to songs like this make it worse. Songs like these are blankets to my soul. I just want to wrap myself in it, close my eyes and go back to being a kid. I was happier as a kid, more blissful, and ignorant in the best way possible. Does anyone else relate?
You are not old dear….society makes you feel like 30 is old….live life darling….embrace this age and cultivate your happiness….it’s within you…. I can somehow relate cos Reminiscing to old songs brings good memories and reminds me of the memories I had with my mom… and she’s no longer on earth…..🥺🥺 but dear don’t feel old….embrace it
Dude, I stopped reading as soon as you combined "losing youth" and '30' in the same sentence. 30 is not old...just live your life you're still young and you got so much ahead of you

I was 23 years old when this music was released. It was unique. Now at 49, I feel the nostalgia. Bring it on ..... bring it on.
Good music and sound effects.
This song brings me back to being 19 and the fall of my first semester at college, this song would come on in my car after leaving my boyfriends house late at night after us “becoming one” the crisp fall air, raining leaves and simpler times of my youth. Bell bottom skinny stretchy pants, Marlboro lights , dark red nail polish, Tommy Girl perfume, scrunches, and the days before cell phones. Oh 1990s how I long for you and my college days. This song always evokes those sweet memories for me.

I know I’m drunk when this song comes on, I was 15 when it came out. Loved it then, love it now 😊
If only any of us can live back in the 1990's again, I would really take advantage of it! Back then no Covid-19, not so many wars and political issues going on with our economy back then and plus back at the time the former World Trade Center towers in NYC was still standing with dignity. My decade of innocence as a young kid from 8 to around 17 years of age and this song was a really huge popular hit for me when it first played on the airwaves as I was like around 14 years old while in middle school at the time and I still love this very song today!
This song makes me feel like it’s a chilly night in NYC with beautiful scenery and cuddling with my significant other. Best Spice Girls song, great arrangement, the strings, the catchy rhythm, the guitar solo. Pure ecstasy.
yesssss
The fact that I hate NYC for being dirty, loud and chaotic.. this song brings justice to it. Its like telling us to feel its essence not what we perceive of it hence “sets your spirit free, its the only way to be”
