As pointed out on the urban gentry channel. For enthusiasts supposedly to dislike a watch, because it is no longer deemed exclusive, because they are so popular "are every where" and sell so well (the top brands always do), is a very unusual reason not to like something. Tag Heuer Sell very well for a reason. And as also pointed out their quality and history is envied by their rivals. They have more quality check procedures than the likes of omega and they would, they're a much bigger company. Facebook alone shows that TAG and Rolex are by far the most followed luxury watch makers.
There’s probably good operational reasons for the sourcing of movements as it improves their bargaining power. I like the idea of using a quality quartz. Tag Heuer have always been poor value IMO. It would be cool if they could up their game.
I wouldn't have a problem if they sourced movements from different manufactures so long as all the aquaracers had an ETA and all the Auto Chronos had a sellita or vice versa. Just so there's none of this guessing game as to which movement is in the watch. But I would agree that it does help their buying power in some ways. Although ETA and the swatch group have had a history of threatening shutting off the taps to supplying "competitors"
